Point of order, seven players have not left Rangers

555

Point of order. Steven Davis has not decided to leave Rangers. Kyle Lafferty did not leave Rangers. Jamie Ness, Steven Whittaker, Steven Naismith, Shauny Aluko and Rhys McCabe did not leave Rangers in some insurrection of Stevens-and-friends-with-odd-names.

All have chosen to remain employees of Rangers Football Club PLC and (reportedly) objected to transfer to Sevco 5088. Loyal to the end, heroes to the jersey, despite how this is being reported elsewhere. The administrators currently managing Rangers Football Club PLC may soon issue all of the above with redundancy notices, but until then, the players will sit tight.

Sevco don’t need these guys anyway, they’ve 19 targets, several of whom have been busy at the Euros, ready to sign-on.

And how could I forget about Gattuso? We’re in trouble when that lot arrive, guys!

  1. Jobo Baldie, this business is so confusing. Remind me, who is Guttuso signing for?

Gerry, too good a plan for that lot to have dreamt up.

Bloke 109, you could be correct.

Lennybhoy, Sevco would do well to sign a few from the juniors. The lower leagues are no place for young men.

hamiltontim, it’s a real pain. Hating every minute.

Bookies Pen, a wee pet dislike.

VertWolf, I’m struggling to figure why anyone is upset at these guys! They took pay cuts for Rangers in February and now are staying with the club.

WeefratheTim, good to see you back.

    Árd Macha, cheers!

    Agent Craig, aye, hope so.

Well done Duff and Phelps. Sterling work at Rangers. You really got the ship back on an even keel at Ibrox. Take a bow. #rangers

How much money do you think it would take for Wattie to get his hands on the assetts, including paying players wages, to be able to cobble something together? While some of the players might just be thick enough to entertain the notion of joining the cardigan in a new dawn for the gers, their agents will soon tell them that this is insane and getting the gravy train back on track.

  6. Gerry, I see the logic, but I said to someone earlier that there are some problems with the idea.

    1. Newco are not getting in to the SPL. They will not be paying SPL wages. The players are offski to places where they can get the dough.

    2. Loyalty to the club is one thing but people tend to develop lifestyles that measure up to their income – these guys have bills to match the wages they were on. They have also lost half their wages over the last three months. They ain’t getting it back from Newco.

    3. Walter might come back in but he faces the same problem as Green – no dough to keep the like of Naismith and Davis.

Na, they are going to be an SFL team with SFL players no matter who owns the new club.

  7. Paul67,

So what do you think is going on???………we want a ‘where we are’ thread.

Don’t worry, there’s no such plot or scheme.

The difficulty with that cunning plan would be paying wages until the newnewclub was up and running. £1m a month cover it on top of all the other start-up costs and the acquiring of the assets?

The fact is that Rangers only won 5 out of their last 10 SPLs despite spending hundreds of millions of pounds more than they legitimately generated. Any newco or newnewco couldn’t even dream of such resources.

    They are dead. Rejoice!

  9. I have it on good authority that the 19 players at Euro 2012 targetted by Green are in fact the majority of the Republic of Ireland squad. This is all in the spirit of removing sectarianism from the lexicon of ibrokes, and the blue order band will soon be playing The Fields with their trumpets and trombones to welcome Aiden and Keano as they line up against Peterheid in December in the snow and ice!

Intellect? On here? It’s only a hindrance. Get tore in man!

  11. The more this goes on the more i’m convinced that they are completely dead. I just cannot see how they are going to survive all this. Green has no money, he has no players, no license, no league.

Was this his plan all along? I’m starting to think it is. He has what he really always wanted. The stadium & training ground. It’s only a matter of time before it comes out he has no money to run Sevco5088fc.

SFA investigations, police investigations, SPL investigations. There is just too much to deal with. At best they will be out of all football for a year, if, and it’s a big IF, Green does have the money to run a club. I cannot see him being given a licence by the SFA.

They really are dead, old & new imo

Already looking forward to you talk at the CQN golf day , opening line, whilst trying to keep the smile off your face “Where do I begin”. Got a felling though that no matter what you say you might just get a rousing reception.

  13. now its time to strip them of the titles and cups they won ,and the cl money they did not win fairly.

Did you ever in your wildest imagination think it would end up like this?

Remember those early Open Meetings caused in many ways by what was suspected then as cheating but what is now clearly so.

I sat watching ref decisions and thought “they are having a laughat my expense.” Remember the meeting in O Neils where you briefed RL, PCS, MME, TON on Celtic’s anger?

I listened to Ewan Wossname on Real Radio mock us and asking who is the Establishment that Celtic fans say is against Celtic and for Rangers. Well he should bloody well know now.

Whoever writes The Rise and Fall of the Murray Reich would do well to interview the bampots who attended those early meetings and those who attended the subsequent virtual ones CQN enabled.

Catholic schools have outlived Rangers F.C in Scotland.

    ===================================

I blame Catholic schools. Think about it – Paul67, Phil Mac, Paul McBride – all went to Catholic schools.

David Murray, Craigy Whyte and the entire directorate at rangers for ever – not a one of them went to one of these places.

    Spot the difference.

The unseen hand. Well, the clearly visible, above board and honest hand telling the truth about stuff…………

  18. I’m pretty conficted on whether I want players to transfer or not. On the one hand Sevco looks to be doing a pretty poor imitation of rangers without any players, and the dismantling and dispersion of rangers players further distances any claim that the ‘club’ carries on.

On the other hand, with it looking increasingly unlikely they’ll have a league to play in next season, loading Sevco with expensive players could force a second administration a lot earlier than expected. Two liquidations. Ibrox changing hands 3 or 4 times, and a year out of football would massively dilute the rangers ‘brand’.
