Populist instigators without a plan

739

Loved the statement issued by the ‘3 Bears’ last night.  They protest that their offer to Rangers International was superior to the offer from Sports Direct, which was accepted.  What the sharp-eyed PR wizard didn’t figure when delivering the statement, though, is:

The board need 75% shareholder permission to dis-apply shareholder pre-emptive rights and create sufficient shares to allow the 3 Bears to fund their proposed share issue.

Support of the Easdale proxy block is needed to pass this dis-application.

Knowing they needed Easdale support, when the board asked if they would drop the EGM resolution to remove James Easdale from the board in order to make their proposal viable, the 3 Bears declined.

Consider the conversation:

A. “We’ll fund a share issue.”

B. “That needs Jimmy’s agreement.  Will you drop your plans to sack him?”

A. “No.  We’re still going to sack him.”

B. “Can’t do, Jimmy’s not going to vote for that.”

A. “It’s all your fault for not accepting our perfectly well thought-out proposal.”

It’s astonishing how shoddy an operation these clowns have.  I know no one in the media will explain the reality to fans, nor will they believe anything they read here.  When populist instigators for change have no viable plan, a club is deader than Rangers (mark I).

Cheers for that, i might look back to the discussion because the first reference to the book that I seen on this site was on Tuesday.

The book really is interesting and so descriptive. Like I said on Tuesday, I had just watched a six part BBC documentary about Auschwitz, it was so interesting, sad and gruesome.

  2. Dailyrecord.co.uk covering itself in embarrassment again. Article about what songs, are banned on Sunday.

Scraping the barrell for things I’ve rarely if ever heard sung en masse by celtic supporters. Ibrox disaster song??? Never heard celts sing it. Songs about dead gers players? Once 20 years ago at ibrox.

    BIG NEWS:

I can now access CQN via my phone again for the first time in 2 days

CQN’s FUBAR rating has therefore reduced from 49 to 31

I guess we won’t get a new article today because P67 will be conducting a thorough investigation into the outage, and will produce a detailed report in due course.

A grovelling apology from him just now would be a start though ;-)

  4. If I was a betting person,

which I’m not, I’d put the Big Hoose on us getting a lot of new and eye-catching pop-ups in advance of Sunday…

Inter play Palermo on Sunday 8th February . .

Match has been given a Category A security level. .

That means that Palermo supporters can only enter the stadium if their name / address / ID card Number is printed on the ticket and they are in possession of a Tessera – a card proving that they have registered as being a Palermo supporter. ..

Celtic game has been given a similar security status.. Theoretically that means that Celtic supporters will only be admitted to the appropriate designated area..

In Italy – Theory is very different from practice . I hope to get a Celtic ticket but just in case , I bought an Inter ticket from a local travel agent .. No documentation asked for -just give us the cash and the ” handling fee “

From where I see it the Israeli’s land grab with seeming impunity. If there is any dissent the reaction is waaaay over the top.

Don’t get me wrong, as a bhoy who was the only Tim in a bitter orange village I know psychology of violence, getting retaliation in first, and fear………..but having always been impressed with Israel fighting its corner whilst surrounded by enemies, I find it difficult to like them when they are killing multiple thousands of people (mainly women and children).

  8. Referring to an earlier post regarding the case of the disappearing scarves and big Aitken equalising against them at at Ibrox in 1978

An even better occassion for me personally

18 August 1979 the Huns are opening their brand new Copland Road stand to a fanfare of flutes and drums.

Due to the demolition of the Celtic end there was approximately only 6000 Celtic supporters in the stadium that day accommodated mainly in the enclosure and half of their old centenary stand. However a small number of Celtic supporters were able to source tickets amongst them ( no doubt green Huns according to some in here)in their main stand behind the enclosure. By the 54th minute they were 2 up and some of those who had tickets in the main stand made their way to the exit. On 84 minutes and Sneddon scored what many thought was a consolation goal and those remaining amongst them sitting on their hands with wry smiles on their faces But hang on in there and you will rewarded. Come the 87th big McAdam scored to make it 2-2 and those still remains in that main stand couldn’t contain themselves and quite obviously had to be beat a hasty retreat .cue the coins spittle and whatever else was lying close to hand. I have never sprinted from a stadium as fast in my life but it was worth it and even though I was covered in spittle i consoled myself with the thought of their new stand being covered in the vomit of 9000 bears.

So come Sunday no matter how anybody wants to interpret their present existence there is nothing gives me more of a footballing pleasure than sticking goals in against them no matter what shape or form they exist in

  9. Mickbhoy 1888.

    I remember that game well.

It was one of the few occasions I couldn’t get a ticket.

Me and my good mate went through the agony of listening to it on radio. No live T.V.

We went crazy when big Tom scored, jumping around the living room like maniacs. All for 2.2 draw but it felt like a win.

  10. MURRAY 6-7 *1-0 BERDYCH

After that epic first set it was always going to be interesting to see how Murray would respond. Well, he responded with a love game!

From what I am led to believe Celtic supporters will only be afforded entry to the appropriate area in the San Siro if they are in possession of their passport and the name on the ticket has to match has to match same. Cue chaos at the turnstiles

However no doubts that Celtic supporters due to their ingenuity will access other parts of the stadium bypassing the security checks

My ticket for the old firm semi final has my name printed on it for whatever reason I do not know

His biography is tragic. After coming through what he came through he ended up taking his own life.

  15. Bawsman look who is doing the counting and directing the western media. Israel has a policy, driven from its own history, to only retaliate unless they specifically go thru parliament as when they destroyed the Iranian nuclear power plant. The western media is biased and far from truthful. When I lived there I saw things reported in the British press that were just wrong. I am not saying that innocent civilians are not killed , every death a sin, what I am saying is that the numbers supplied by Hamas are very suspect and lead to the type of anti semitism that has existed for millennium . No matter what anyone says here I will always believe that Israel has a right to exist and survive and the right to defends its people.

“I will always believe that Israel has a right to exist and survive and the right to defends its people.”

I have no problem with that, I’ve already stated my admiration of the Israeli’s for fighting their corner.

I do have a problem with the land grabs, continuing house building on Palestinian land and the total destruction of peoples homes in waaay over the top retaliation.

The complete devestation of the Palestinian housing stock wasn’t a Palestinian/Hamas staged PR event mate.

  22. Mickbhoy1888,

I don’t remember Collymore lying about drug fueled riots in Dundee, I do remember you did.

I don’t remember Collymore ripping off Celtic supporters and laughing at them for having the decency to tip you.

    But you do.
