Predictable SFA back their team

202

As predicted yesterday, the SFA appeals process rejected Celtic’s application to have Yang’s red card, awarded at Tynecastle on Sunday, rescinded.  The merits of the case can be set aside.  The SFA were being asked to consider whether one of their senior referees intervened unfairly in a manner which changed which team was top of the table with nine games remaining.

That was never going to happen.  Any technical justification for the recommendation to upgrade the initial yellow card would be seized.  Unlike offside, which is a definitive on or off, foul play remains under the remit of referee interpretation.

The lack of consistency, which resulted in a Motherwell player not even being cautioned for a similar challenge on Daizen Maeda a week earlier, is explained by referees interpreting the circumstances differently.

VAR is never going to change the fact that Scotland is a small place with a very small number of teams capable of winning the league.  It has shone a greater light on this lack of consistency, but it will not change people and will not quickly change processes.

    Cos he was always injured?

Was slightly tongue in cheeck ;)

  2. From MG67_

Could very easily have the hearing soon but the SFA choose the week before the Rangers game?

I want what any Celtic fan trying to convince themselves the SFA don’t try and cheat us is smoking 👍🏼

    Spot on.

My club have allowed them away with murder, Peter Lawwell & Celtic deserves this, if he/they would have dealt with them through Res 12 we wouldn’t be in this position now.

Peter Lawwell is complicit in corruption & he screwed the Res 12 boys over & that’s why they can do as they please.

  3. Only one way to get our revenge and that is to win the League.

There is hurt and anger at every level of the Club, Brendan & the Team will never be more determined & united,

Direct your anger at the cheats who are trying to bring us down, not at our Club or our team.

Born from Famine & Oppression, we have been fighting the odds since our creation,

Hi there – Why would we want to? Isn’t better to be ‘in the tent’ than out?”

I wasn`t saying that I wanted us to do so. I just wondered if any single club could opt-out/

Celtic’s lawyers will accompany Brendan to the SFA hearing. That is a given.

Mikey Johnston’s transfer value continues to soar.

    £6.5m I heard.

  7. Beaton etc are being sleekit and low down when they do you and then they just slink away…till next time…and it all happens again…and again etc.

And then Beaton etc roll about laughing their asses off at wee heart broen Timmy pleading for justice through this wee Orange committee meeting….and then some other wee Masonic committee meeting…and on, and on it goes with wee Timmy shafted at every turn.

Timmy blogs full of “Oh but its the SFA so what can we do?” And the soul continues to be sucked out of most Timmy readers of Timmy blogs mainly written by spoiled Manchild type.

So, what if we got a wideo manager in who taught us or rather the players that to stop the Mibs cheating…cheat them back.

In the way that Mibs be sleekit and act all unknowing etc…we do the same…by rattling the ball off of the Mibs face then act all shocked and apologetic…go straight to the Mib and give him the wee Kyogo apology routine…then someone else do it and on and on…fight fire with fire…tripping the Mib bassa up…then the wee Kyogo cuddles etc…and on and on.

I don’t attend home cup games as the gate receipts are split.

Only Celtic get my money. Not the SFA, not any other clubs.”

    Same for me.

PS Nor have I attended Sevco at Celtic parkgames since the Big Lie of 2012.

  9. Keep appealing and if necessary go all the way to CAS. We can’t be without BR for a Glasgow derby.

The SFA are brazen and we must now use every tool at our disposal to bring about change.

  10. with the way we are being treated by the other hunnish clubs out there we should just refuse their meagre allocations, I’m NOT sure if we can return the complement and refuse to give them any at Parkheid but no matter what we can still hit them where it hurts

  13. If BR hearing the week before huns game it would be terrible if Brendan came down with a bug and could not attend. Cough, cough. Sneez.

    D. :)

  14. Brendan tell them you will attend any hearing , as long as it is open to all .

Back of the bus ,no longer HH

  15. Just seen my great grandson Riley ,on stage at Nathan Carter concert in Hamilton HH

  16. Palma’s two missed penalties some weeks ago demoralised the team and a dire performance ensued. Similarly, Ida’s attempt on Sunday did nothing for team morale. Given the apparent malevolence of the the VAR man we were one goal down at half time. With a modicum of luck we might ĥave emerged from Tynecastle with a draw. Some think that the officials would never have allowed that scenario. In any case, Brendan has a huge job on his hands.

    All the very best, Brendan.

  18. In the old days plenty of Managers preferred watching game from Stand as they felt they got a better overall view of shape etc.

If Brendan is in the Stand, he will be miked up and in constant contact with Kennedy & the bench,

It would be an inconvenience but doesn’t have to be fatal to our chances.

How tediously predictable is the Champiins League? Bayern, PSG, Man C, Real M. Same teams every season. A snooze fest. Then we’re all invited to celebrate when blood money doped City cruises to 2-in-a-row playing in 2md gear. 💤💤💤💤

  21. Friday 6th

There was no priest in last night or tonight. They stopped me from seeing my solicitor tonight, as another part of the isolation process, which, as time goes by, they will ruthlessly implement. I expect they may move me sooner than expected to an empty wing. I will be sorry to leave the boys, but I know the road is a hard one and everything must be conquered.

I have felt the loss of energy twice today, and I am feeling slightly weak.

They (the Screws) are unembarrassed by the enormous amount of food they are putting into the cell and I know they have every bean and chip counted or weighed. The damned fools don’t realise that the doctor does tests for traces of any food eaten. Regardless, I have no intention of sampling their tempting morsels.

I am sleeping well at night so far, as I avoid sleeping during the day. I am even having pleasant dreams and so far no headaches. Is that a tribute to my psychological frame of mind or will I pay for that tomorrow or later! I wonder how long I will be able to keep these scribbles going?

My friend Jennifer got twenty years. I am greatly distressed. (Twenty-one-year-old Jennifer McCann, from Belfast’s Twinbrook estate, was sentenced to twenty years’ imprisonment for shooting at an RUC man).

I have no doubts or regrets about what I am doing for I know what I have faced for eight years, and in particular for the last four and-a-half years, others will face, young lads and girls still at school, or young Gerard or Kevin (Bobby’s son and nephew, respectively) and thousands of others.

They will not criminalise us, rob us of our true identity, steal our individualism, depoliticise us, churn us out as systemised, institutionalised, decent law-abiding robots. Never will they label our liberation struggle as criminal.

I am (even after all the torture) amazed at British logic. Never in eight centuries have they succeeded in breaking the spirit of one man who refused to be broken. They have not dispirited, conquered, nor demoralised my people, nor will they ever.

I may be a sinner, but I stand — and if it so be, will die — happy knowing that I do not have to answer for what these people have done to our ancient nation.

Thomas Clarke is in my thoughts, and MacSwiney, Stagg, Gaughan, Thomas Ashe, McCaughey. Dear God, we have so many that another one to those knaves means nothing, or so they say, for some day they’ll pay.

When I am thinking of Clarke, I thought of the time I spent in ‘B’ wing in Crumlin Road jail in September and October ’77. I realised just what was facing me then. I’ve no need to record it all, some of my comrades experienced it too, so they know I have been thinking that some people (maybe many people) blame me for this hunger-strike, but I have tried everything possible to avert it short of surrender.

I pity those who say that, because they do not know the British and I feel more the pity for them because they don’t even know their poor selves. But didn’t we have people like that who sought to accuse Tone, Emmet, Pearse, Connolly, Mellowes: that unfortunate attitude is perennial also…

I can hear the curlew passing overhead. Such a lonely cell, such a lonely struggle. But, my friend, this road is well trod and he, whoever he was, who first passed this way, deserves the salute of the nation. I am but a mere follower and I must say Oíche Mhaith.
