Protests because of Celtic

189

According to their manager, Newco are doing just fine, better then fine, in fact, it’s just that Celtic are fabulous (my interpretation, not a direct quote).

He spoke in response to fan protests at their game against Kilmarnock.  Apparently, after “55” (cough) they took their eye off the ball.

Mick Beale has a point. Celtic are fabulous, Newco win their first Scottish Cup and reached a European final; overachieving by any measure. But fans cannot be placated when losing.

It’s easy to see the folly in others. The Newco board are far from the worst option the club has. Change may not be their friend. There are zero options for stopping Celtic short of another random season. This is due future fans need to get on board or there will be a lot of banners. Protests because of Celtic could become a regular fixture.

We could try again to rent Hampden from Queens Park and the SFA if we were attempting any form of rebuild but……………..

I don’t think that post-Brexit, post-Covid, mid Ukraine v Russia war and with concerns over Scotland leaving the UK, it is prime time for raising investment on large build projects. But that is certainly out of my wheelhouse

  6. SATURDAY 7TH

I received a most welcome note tonight from Bernie, my sister. old Bernie. I love her and think she’s the greatest.

I am now convinced that the authorities intend to implement strict isolation soon, as I am having trouble in seeing my solicitor. I hope I’m wrong about the isolation, but we’ll see.

It’s only that I’d like to remain with the boys for as long as possible for many reasons. If I’m isolated, I will simply conquer it.

A priest was in today, somewhat pleasant, and told me about Brendan O Cathaoir’s article in The Irish Times during the week, which I saw. We had a bit of discussion on certain points, which, of course, were to him contentious. He was cordial in his own practised way, purely tactical, of course, and at the same time he was most likely boiling over inside, thinking of the reference to this week’s AP/RN (February 28th issue) calling him a collaborating middle-class nationalist, or appropriate words to that effect.

He is too, says I, and I sympathise with those unfortunate sons of God who find themselves battling against the poverty, disease, corruption, death and inhumanities of the missions…

I am 61 kgs today, going down. I’m not troubled by hunger pangs, nor paranoiac about anything pertaining to food, but, by God, the food has improved here. I thought I noticed that during the last hunger-strike. Well, there is a lot at stake here.

I got the Irish News today, but there’s nothing in it, that’s why I got it.

I’m looking forward to seeing the comrades at Mass tomorrow, all the younger looking faces, minus the beards, moustaches, long rambling untamed hair matted in thick clumps.

One thing is sure, that awful stage, of the piercing or glazed eyes, the tell-tale sign of the rigours of torture, won’t be gone – if it is ever removed. I wonder is it even conceivable that it could be erased from the mind?

We got a new comrade during the week. Isn’t it inspiring the comrades who keep joining us? I read what Jennifer said in court. (On being sentenced, Jennifer McCann said: ‘I am a Republican prisoner of war and at the moment my comrade Bobby Sands is on hunger-strike to defend my rights as a political prisoner.’) I was touched and proud, she is my comrade.

I’ve been thinking of Mary Doyle and Ellen McGuigan and all the rest of the girls in Armagh. How can I forget them?

The Screws are staring at me perplexed. Many of them hope (if their eyes tell the truth) that I will die. If need be, I’ll oblige them, but my God they are fools. Oscar Wilde did not do justice to them for I believe they are lower than even he thought. And I may add there is only one thing lower than a Screw and that is a Governor. And in my experience the higher one goes up that disgusting ladder they call rank, or position, the lower one gets…

It’s raining. I’m not cold, my spirits are well, and I’m still getting some smokes — decadence, well sort of, but who’s perfect. Bad for your health. Mar dheas anois, Oíche Mhaith.

Yes I have noticed oir Japanese bhoys bowing as they leave the field.

I have also read a few comments on CQN throughout the season calling for our Japanese players to desist from helping opponents they have clashed with and who are on the ground.

I absolutely disagree with those comments as they are asking players to go against their life’s very culture, not to mention their sense of fair play and even humanity.

I remember it like it was yesterday. A bunch of us strangers got together and told tales of Celtic CFC. It was beautiful….then it happened….

  13. What would be interesting is to determine the number of females and families in our current standing section.

I would wager it would be nearly all young men.

Suggesting that woman, children, families and the elderly would have the option to stand in their current location is just ludicrous.

Times have changed. We are a family club and seating suits families.

Referencing Hampdump is disingenuous at best.

    Couldn’t agree more.

I would be happy to give up my seat in JS lower to make way for a new , expanded standing section as long as I get a suitable relocation.

At 69, I have no wish to stand for 2 hours. My old legs wouldn’t support it either.

  15. Hampden is the best example of our current support being able to stand for a whole game.

    Nearly everyone did.

I’m at the back of the standing area row SS to be precise. Loads of women and families in there, always interesting to see the weans grow up over the years. As regards the grey brigade there maybe a dozen or so of us 60+ from around my rows.

I occasionally have to stand at away games and sit down at half-time. I can manage to stand at away games as it’s only a few games a season, but given the choice, I’d rather sit at Celtic Park.

  18. I Posted some time ago about ANY of our Japanese Bhoys going anywhere near opposition players ( ESPECIALLY any HUN Players ), whenever they are on the ground PRETENDING to be injured etc…….I stand by my opinion, that it is something that I do NOT wish to see.

For those amongst the Celtic support who ” LIKE” to see our Japanese Bhoys doing this…….Will you STILL ” LIKE” it when an opposition player ( ESPECIALLY a HUN Player), takes ADVANTAGE of these gestures by PRETENDING that our Japanese Bhoy has HIT him hard, when ALL it it is/was a wee ” PAT on their Heid” etc….in order to FAKE further Injury to get a Japanese Bhoy SENT AFF ?

Would you have liked to have seen a Celtic Player ” Patting JOHN GREIG, or BOBBY SHEARER and co ” on the Heid ?

Would you have ” Liked” to see HENRIK Patting CRAIG MOORE on the Heid, and/or any other HUN ” Player” ?

Would you have ” LIKED” to have seen any Celtic player Patting ALEX MacDONALD or WULLIE JOGHNSTON on the Heid either ?

    I certainly would NOT.

I do NOT TRUST ANY Hun player to act properly and/or accordingly…..its only a matter of time before some Hun decides to FAKE being Hit by one of our Japanese Bhoys .

STAY WELL AWAY from these CHUMPS…..Do NOT go NEAR them.

  19. Would any of you LIKE to see KYOGO or ANY other Celtic Player ” Patting MORELOS on the Heid”……and/or making any attempt to CONSOLE the FAT BOY when he is lying on the ground FAKING INJURY ?

    Certainly NOT ME !

  20. I did NOT HELP or try to CONSOLE LEGGY when he fell off his chair last Friday….Why should I try and help/console any HUN ?

We all love you LEGGY Mate.

Its very funny….especially when NONE of your so called Celtic Pals tried to help you get up !

I meant any Hun ” Player”.

  23. WARNING…

When I open up the Blog, ONE of the ADS is for Mens Shoes from a company called ” TRABLADZER”.

The Pic with the AD is a BROWN Shoe with a small Zip on the side.

I ordered TWO Pair of shoes after seeing this AD, One pair BROWN, and one pair BLACK.

It took just over THREE WEEKS for the shoes to arrive from China, and DESPITE ME CONFIRMING my UK Shoe size at least Three times via Emails, this company STILL managed to send me the WRONG Shoe sizes.

I am in the process of giving the Two pair of shoes away, rather than trying to send them back and get a Refund.

Lifes too short for all that.
