PSG have yet to be asked questions

494

Friday night is the new Saturday afternoon, apparently. Celtic, Paris Saint-Germain and Anderlecht all play tomorrow evening. Only Bayern Munich from our Champions League group have a weekend game; on Saturday, so there will be little advantage gained from the earlier domestic kick-off.

PSG are away to Metz, near the German border. Whereas PSG are top of Ligue 1, having won all their games, Metz are anchored at the bottom, the only team yet to take a point. This game is a perfect opportunity for PSG to rest players who have been busy on international duty, before the trip to Glasgow. Celtic’s scouts will be able to observe the shape of their forthcoming opponents, but the intensity of the game will not come close to what we see at Celtic Park.

Immediately before the international break, PSG beat Saint Etienne 3-0 in Paris. It is one measure of a good team to win comfortably even when not playing well. PSG achieved this against Le Verts, but there was encouragement for Brendan Rodgers in this game. This was also the only league game PSG have played against a team who have not lost at least half of their matches so far.

Without having to go through the trauma of Champions League qualifiers, the notion persists that PSG have yet to be asked questions this season. They may be able to revel in the joys of having signed two exciting new strikers, but great teams are made of durable cohesion, not striking bling.

Stevie Nicol , what a fitba player . I remember going to J. Hubbard’s 5 a sides at Heathfield every week when I was a nipper . Loved it , wee JH commented on my surname and my pal wearing the hoops . We were only about 8 or 9 . He said I hope you two are ok at fitba or you won’t get in any team ( no other Tims there ) , we were and he was brilliant with us .

    Happy days.

Steve Nicol was my wife’s next door neighbour when they grew up as youngsters in Troon, I was with Steve at Portland Park the night he he slept on a mates sofa and the flat burned down.

Know Steve well, done alright for himself, not the sharpest tack in the box.

There were a fair few Celtic-supporting young Protestants in the town in the late 60s and early 70s. They almost all deny it now though!

When I moved to Ardrossan in 72,my best pal’s Papa was the minister in Kilwinning Abbey. Still Celtic-daft to this day.

SFA compliance officer to look at granting of Uefa licence to #Rangers in 2011″

    ———————————————–

So, an official in the organisation who rubber stamped the granting of the 2011 Euro licence, is to investigate said organisation….mmmmm…..LNS De Javu anyone

    FTSFA FTSPFL

    =========

The current Compliance officer is a different guy from the one in post in 2011.

He has his own reputation to protect.

    Dessybhoy.

Had an inkling Res12 was going to get attention. There is no doubt whatsover that RFC under SDM lied to obtain the licence and under CW continued with same lie to keep it.

The only question is SFA negligent or compliant?

Andrew Dickson was a Lic Committee member in 2011 and his role and what he knew needs investigating. His testimony to the FTT on 18th April 2011 about knowing nothing about the wtc matters, the day before SFA granted the licence on say so of RFC auditors, needs probing. According to him he had no idea since 2004 to 2011 that HMRC were asking questions about side letters to Flo and De Boer. That’s what he told the FTT. Must have been in toilet the day in April 2005 that McMillan checked the files at Rangers for those letters.

The really interesting bit will be what SFA told UEFA in Sept 2011 to verbally get approval of the:false monitoring submission of June 2011 under Art66 and the coaching of RFC in completion of the next submission in Sept under Art67 which contained more falsehood.

Then there is Regan in Dec 2011 using Dickson to approve a justification for the granting. RFC’s response should have told Regan the granting was on dodgy ground but still he defended it when Celtic asked questions in 2013.

At worst SFA guilty of negligence in 2011 but guilty of covering it up thereafter.

One message that Res12 can claim regardless of outcome of enquiry is that the SFA are accountable via clubs who are accountable to their shareholders.

Between that an the unexpected new club/company confirmation I’d call it a result already but hope it goes to the heart of the problem which is SFA culture and arrogance and produces change.

How can any club ask it’s supporters to pay good money to watch a game whose outcome depends on the overseeing authority to do so fairly when they have failed to do so in the past?

The Times also reports that a letter sent by Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell to Scottish FA chief Stewart Regan in the spring of 2012 called for a judicial review of the saga but also pressed for title-stripping and the removal of national cup victories between 1999 and 2010 to be included as part of sanctions against Rangers.

The guy who ran the 9 in a row still goes to every home game , and he was old ( to me ) in the eighties . His son now helps with the Ayr Emerald , although his dad travels with the Michael Davitt bus . I noted that your home for the Munich game , so hopefully we will hook up in the BV . If your back in Ayrshire , get in touch , plenty on here have my details . I can recommend the boozer at the back of Ayr railway station where you will meet plenty who followed Celtic from the 9 in a row bus . HH

John McColgan is the guy yir talking about (cousin) set-up the 9 in a row that left from the station.
