PSG have yet to be asked questions

494

Friday night is the new Saturday afternoon, apparently. Celtic, Paris Saint-Germain and Anderlecht all play tomorrow evening. Only Bayern Munich from our Champions League group have a weekend game; on Saturday, so there will be little advantage gained from the earlier domestic kick-off.

PSG are away to Metz, near the German border. Whereas PSG are top of Ligue 1, having won all their games, Metz are anchored at the bottom, the only team yet to take a point. This game is a perfect opportunity for PSG to rest players who have been busy on international duty, before the trip to Glasgow. Celtic’s scouts will be able to observe the shape of their forthcoming opponents, but the intensity of the game will not come close to what we see at Celtic Park.

Immediately before the international break, PSG beat Saint Etienne 3-0 in Paris. It is one measure of a good team to win comfortably even when not playing well. PSG achieved this against Le Verts, but there was encouragement for Brendan Rodgers in this game. This was also the only league game PSG have played against a team who have not lost at least half of their matches so far.

Without having to go through the trauma of Champions League qualifiers, the notion persists that PSG have yet to be asked questions this season. They may be able to revel in the joys of having signed two exciting new strikers, but great teams are made of durable cohesion, not striking bling.

  1. Yesterday it was being suggested that Celtic leaked the letter as part of a cunning strategy to put pressure on the SFA, today it’s being suggested that the letter was leaked by the SFA to isolate Celtic.

Meanwhile the same club narrative goes unchallenged.

Daryll Stinkfoot is a truly horrible character…trust me on that one…he is no friend of ours, in fact he is a sworn enemy…another poacher who turned gamekeeper…

  3. Over on Monkey Media, the cretinous scum are treating the SFAs comments as a victory. They have 5 or 6 pages on it.Considering it is their club, the total lack of any knowledge of events is shocking.I really now believe that the “Same team”nonsense is regarded as fact by them.Facts mean nothing to them.No matter what proof is put before them,it will not compute in their brain. They are the same team. They did nothing wrong. They have been treated appallingly by the SFA,SPFL.

The main thrust of their defence against the facts is to turn to the Paedophile filth that they vomit up regularly.

If we want to investigate this, just wait till they demand an inquiry into this.It seems to give them a wee comfort blanket, like “State Aid”,the “Pacific Shelf “nonsense. They have a retarded mindset, and nothing will change.

They see their ridiculous air of superiority being eroded on all fronts, and have retreated into this twilight world of make believe. Its not an act.Listen to them. They actually DO believe what they say.

Jim Smith, the Jonestown, guy could have this mob committing suicide at the drop of a hat, they are so brainwashed. You can see why they are fodder for every Spiv in the land.

Well, the jj story does make sense (if true) in light of what came out last night (surely the timing could not be that much of a coincidence).

Then we have the whining budgie McLaughlin (who I am sure is talented in something, but it certainly isn’t football reporting), telling us that fans are bored with the whole thing, although some fans apparently want “oldco Rangers” to be punished. Care to tell us the name of this “company”, Chris? Na, thought not.

More chance of the SFA telling us how much money they are spending on PR to cover their own backsides. Money that could be going to grassroots football.

    HITC gets even better:

“Brown has been on the books of Celtic since the summer of 2017 when he joined from Hibernian for a transfer fee reported by The Guardian to be worth £4.4 million.”

  6. Yes it often looks like we lose battles, get sand kicked in our faces and are about as welcome as Vladimir Putin at Hilarys birthday party but we’re right, determined and will win this war imho.

  7. So are we still congratulating Celtic on a brilliant bit of GIRFUY FTSFSA or are we in squirrel mode and slating The heated driveway for not bothering it’s arse following up on 2012 letter?

If leaked by FTSFA Broadfeet then that suggest that this is not part of clubs plan and in fact there may not be a plan. No?

    Answer on a roach.

MWD Celtic is not just for Christmas.

    Bayern Munich.

Something that has always intrigued me is the way we sometimes adopt the native country pronunciation of a team (Napoli, Roma) – but other times we Anglicise the name (Lisbon, Venice).

But in the case of the leading German team we use a combination of both – surely we should call them either Bayern Munchen or Bavaria Munich.

    Just saying.

  10. So it seems that the club didn’t leak the letter then, so what does that do to things ?

Hopefully it will force our hand, if it doesn’t, they for sure will have won.

Irrespective of who leaked the info, it does seem to indicate that Celtic have been proactive in this all along.

The most interetsing part is, IMHO, what Celtic do about the lack of response by the SFA to the recent letter. How long will it be left before further action is taken?

    Not much longer I suspect!

It was the sycophantic Sigmoid Corner reaction to a brilliant strategy I was having a pop at.

No matter who leaked it if it was Celtic then it was a master stroke and if it was FTSFA via Broadfoit then it is still a master stroke for Celtic in my view.

  14. FTSFA- With their “raking over old coals” pish they have changed the old maxim;

    ‘Let sleeping dogs lie’

    to

    ‘Let lying dogs sleep’

    Hunt them Celtic.

I was just thinking that if it indeed was Broadfoot who leaked the letter, it’s bound to backfire, the mere fact it’s now public has serious implications for the sfa, nay goat for the bold Daryl for a wee while me thinks.

  16. Some of the lies told by RFC 1872(In Liquidarion) have now been exposed. The cover up has not succeeded. Pretty soon tbe whole shabby fraud will be out there. Surely no self respecting person would want to associate him or herself with any version of “rangers” after that. Then again….

Oh,home match. I’ll be driving during the away match. Tell you what, bloody awkward, driving wi your fingers toes and eyes crossed.

More so for other road users than me,I’m used to it!

  19. Now that the game is afoot, will any other member clubs put their heads above the parapet wall and speak out against this attempted whitewash, or just put their fingers in their ears and go “la! la! la!” Leaving celtic isolated. If it’s the latter then we know exactly where we stand.

  20. I would say it’s extremely doubtful the SFA or Broadfoot have leaked the PL letter. They want this to go away. Leaking the letter only fuels the fire. On the other hand, if Celtic have leaked the letter then it could be window dressing. On the same day the SFA letter arrives on the doorstep of every club in the country the letter is leaked. It could be an attempt to make it looked like we tried. Or it could be that we mean business and this just got real.

The SFA will have loathed to open up the UEFA license issue and bring it into the public domain. Ideally it would have been looked at independently however many did not think it would get this far. Pressure has been applied somewhere by someone and for that we should be grateful. Interesting times ahead.

  21. Silver City 1888 on

More twists that a John le Carre novel. I can only see this going where the money pushes it. Maybe UEFA will see this as a chance to set an example. I don’t imagine for a second that they’d do the right thing just because it was the right thing to do.
