There’s something undignified at the shenanigans at Ibrox right now. Despite being under no pressure to pay the disputed tax demand, Rangers are tarting around their top player in a desperate attempt to raise money.
After the Plus Stock Exchange suspended dealing in their shares the club stated it would produce overdue accounts for season 2010-11 around the end of this month, which coincides with the end of the transfer window. Any auditor needs to be in a position to state that the company has enough cash to be considered a going concern before he would be in a position to sign-off the accounts. Rangers are now in a desperate bid for cash as their self-imposed (late) date to provide shareholders with statutory information has arrived.
Claims were made that a front-loaded war-chest was made available to Ex-Rangers manager, Ally McCoist (still too early? Hmmmm) at the start of the season and it was subsequently suggested that a £9m bid was rejected for Nikica Jelavic, but now the same player is available for a fraction of that sum – available for cash, that is.
McCoist kept their season alive but as reality dawn and Neil Lennon’s Celtic turned up the heat, his challenge abated.
The trusty old media, for so long a crutch throughout Rangers rather unique history, are set to desert the White Star Line’s most famous vessel. The day draws near.

If it’s true that they’ll go into administration over the next day or two is that not a bit of a coincidence, just as the window shuts? Surely if they wanted to successfully navigate out of administration they’d enter it when they could create some revenue through player sales?
It smack of part of the long-term plan to wipe their debt and start afresh with all their players – maybe I’m missing something?
I’ll enjoy the moment when it comes but in the days to follow surely we need to look at the long term ramifications, which may not be so bad for them?

The same mentality will put them on the same roundabout. A club still going nowhere.
To be perfectly frank, at the end of the day, being 350% honest with you, some of you should honestly, without word of a lie, check the posts your replying to before getting 550% hot under the collar.
Come on FFS! Are you really that dim?

How are you pal ?
Thanks for everything.
Well well What and interesting few days ahead….could this really be the “Where were you?” Moment?
Was at a meeting tonight, which started at 8 and finished around 9.45, I have a sore leg from the vibrating phone.
I have serenity tonight….not often that happens :-)

I think your facts are accurate as I posted around lunchtime that I had received a message that there was to be a “larger” than normal police presence required for wed.
Whatever part of my club is dependent on Rangers I am willing to lose – formerly known as Malone19 says:
Cannot be certain but the closing of the transfer window does not mean a player cannot be released to cut back costs and increase revenue which is what administration is about.
Well after all of tonights madness where are we now.
I expect them to go bust eventually, dont care when, it will come
I expect in whatever guise they will reform a team with some elements of the old football club, dont care about that either.
I expect they will at some point after the dust has settled apply to the SFL for entry and will be accepted, I DO care that they start at the bottom and earn the right to get back to the SPL.
I expect that large hordes of their”we arra peeple fans will desert them in their hour of need, and i dont care about that either.
I expect that they will retain ordinary folk who love their team and i am pleased about that.
I expect Celtic to move on and dominate scottish football and make a proper fist of European football, and the board better care about that.
I expect scotland to be a nicer place without them in their current form and we should all care for that.

@paul67- Thanks, good to be here. Loved the “final countdown” video on CQ Magazine FB page btw. I hope you enjoy the next few days. Thank you for everything.
I posted about admin charges on friday,
Grant Thornton sent in a couple of admin men to Quinn ins in Ireland, and they presented a bill for 500k per month.
That should give you a rough estimate.
It was in the Irish Indo, and the judge reduced their bill by 20%, it was part of the deal that all bills had to go before a judge, oh, and the bill was 500k + expences…..there was no quibble about the undisclosed expences

Am I the only person who doesn’t have a ‘man at the record’, ‘source close to HMRC’, or an ‘insider from ibrox’?
Can I just pretend?…OK, here goes.
A friend of a friend, who’s son in-law plays for rangers U19’s has just text me saying the huns have no cash flow, are riddled with debt and are very close to a multi-million tax bill landing on the doors of Ibrox. And the Whyte Knight is a fraud with no intention of putting any hard cash into the club.
Nah, probably those ‘internet bampots’ stirring up trouble again. Won’t believe it ’till I see it in the paper haha!

‘sound as a pound’ was good enough for me to get your meaning!
Pawel Brozek told to the Polish media that he has never had the offer from Rangers.
Look like McCoist made a fool of himself.
I may be statin the bleedin obvious, but I’m more convinced than ever now that Whytie is nothing more than a front (think somebody suggested that earlier tonight) – all planned and agreed by Murray and the Bank to take them down, take the flak, and take some money. Can’t see any other rationale behind it.
Ho hum, pure tragedy… tragedy it is
Well goodnight Paul and all good Celtic men on this site.
ncmjc Welcome to CQN. You picked a good night to start posting.
not been as excited since canalamer decided to wind us all up with
rumours of UEFA’s impending doom for der hun……..something tells me this is the real thing
The 500k per month was what they got after the 20% reduction btw, + their expences obviously

What Whye is is fairly obvious. Apply Occams Razor to this.
This is a man who has made what money he has from buying distressed companies and then chopping away the bits. He came to Rangers with no other intention than to hive off whatever financial benefits he could, and then bounce the rest.
There is no plan. There is no conspiracy. Just a vulture (surely venture – ed) capitalist who bought a dying organisation so he could pick the bones.
He does not care whether Rangers lives or dies mate. He’s in and out for the bucks.

You caliing me a hun?
For no apparent reason I could think of, I jotted a few thoughts re floating charges, mortgaging season ticket money and Leeds United (oh, I might possibly have mentioned Rangers, but I think I got away with it)

Think you are correct. Contracts can effectively be “ripped up” if previous cases are anything to go by.
But don’t listen to me! I find the whole saga a bit like trying to understand Stephen Hawkings theories. I can hold it in my head for about 15 seconds and think ‘right think I’ve got it’…and then it all tumbles out of my noggin into a big mess on the floor.
To quote a gumby from Monty Python ‘My brain huuurts!’
