Rangers? That wasn’t even a Basket of Assets

891

They can call themselves whatever insolvency practitioners allow them to be called, but even the court assertion, that Charles Green bought a Basket of Assets, not a football club, seems overly optimistic. That lot look more like a Basket of Liabilities than assets.

I told you Joey Barton was a good Celtic man, there to take their money, and self-respect. Their big former Arsenal centre half is four years younger than our big former Arsenal centre half, but good grief! You could forgive him for being short of pace, but acting like an immature simpleton is unforgivable.

Moussa Dembele’s Perfect Hat-trick (one with the head, one with the right, one with the left), was a charm. We watched Henrik give us so much, he deserved to score a hat-trick against Oldco Rangers, but the history book was closed on that one with Harry Hood’s in the League Cup in 43 years ago.

I have witnesses to saying “We’ll have to settle for five instead of seven”, when hearing Leigh Griffiths would miss out today. Dembele (20), put in a performance which defied his inexperience. He looked like the £20m player some think we’ve signed. What’s more, he’ll continue to improve.

Tom Rogic had clearly been identified as our most dangerous creative player. He was hacked throughout, before retiring early in the second half. Scott Brown and Nir Bitton were also on top of their game, controlling the crucial central area.

Both full backs, Mikael Lustig and Kieran Tierney, got assists, as they created width to allow the central players to do their stuff.

Brendan Rodgers will hopefully highlight that the only two attempts on goal we conceded came a moment after we scored, near the end of each half. Teams notoriously lose concentration after scoring.

I’m off to find out who their no. 4 was. I’ve him down for two assists on his own. Liabilities, to a man – the keeper apart, who did well.

    Bliddy marvellous day yesterday.

Warburton’s transformation into a fully-fledged hun was completed when he gave his post-match interview. The most ungracious pile of shoite ever from a man(sic) who is always demanding respect.

Aye,thur not Rangers anymore, but they think they are. And I always enjoyed beating them for the joy of their fans’ misery. So,was it really Rangers we beat yesterday? Well, their fans thought it was-we’ve got the trashed toilets to prove it-and they’re effin miserable.

“I spoke about Jock Stein in my team talk,” Rodgers said. “It was primarily about the guy looking down, the man who set the tone for this club, the template. Front foot, aggressive, no fear and when things go against you have that mentality to bounce back. We said that if he is looking down make sure we do him proud.”

  12. Good Morning Bhoys, Hope we are all well, Heading into have a wander around paradise just because.

Just read some stuff this morning about joey twitter, He stayed to shake hands with our players and our cap, Considering the guy got owned for most of the match and was just soundly beaten, showed he is not all bad. Decent in my book when you see other guys they signed spit at your players. He also looks pretty hostile towards the crumpled hat. Don’t think those two get on. I think he will dish the dirt on them after his one season up here. He looks slow and disinterested in playing for them. Championship player of the year my foot.

Well done joey, keep taking that cash and playing like that. Awesome.

Our Captain had a top game without actually really hitting his top stride. Moussa I am so happy for him, That night against Astana, He was the calmest guy in the stadium, no run up or hesitation jut smashed it. That night was his making. Top player and young man. Special mention to our old Lustig, he was back yesterday and Bitton can be a great player if he can consistently find that kind of performance. Sinclair has it all, he causes players problems even when he doesn’t have the ball. I know Moussa was a one man demolition team yesterday, But Sinclair is my player of the season so far. Cracking wee player.

De vries I have yet to see enough of him to make a decision but in Brendan we trust. Paddy was trying to hard when he came on but Armstrong played well, there is hope for this Bhoy yet, Got a soft spot for him, With some players you just get a feeling. Hoping Stuart can kick on now. At times the MD looks disjointed and maybe Armstrong can give us balance in there.

Also Rogic has great feet and presence, I felt we took a while to get going once he went off. But

  13. Morning all.

The decision whether to attend or not yesterday was sealed on Friday when my bhoy picked up a ticket. Although built like the side of a hoose & a black belt in judo , I still worry.

I sincerely hope that their present irrelevance on the park never will never diminish the fact that every supporter that paid good money for at least a decade , watched a game that was bent. As an arabs knife.

The game itself showed the utter madness from Warbutton in playing Sandeross.

When the feck was seventy minutes game time against Linfield enough practice /fitness / game time etc before being flung into a derby game against obviously fitter and faster opponents ? The deliberate hand ball was a sign of utter exhaustion.Nothing else.

Broony was correct. No evidence that they will compete for even being second.

I’m loving everything about Brendan Rodgers. This team will improve.

A cracking evening in a packed boozer in Ayrshire last night. Full to the brim with happy Tims , singing and laughter . Hard to beat.

Tuesday & the whole champions league campaign brings a huge and different challenge. Canny wait.

  14. PeterLatchfordsBelly on

Reading the Magic Twat’s post match interview comments he sounds like a man in the edge. Rambling, incoherent, nonsensical guff. Not credible. I think we’re finally seeing what the this man is made of. Puff candy by the looks of it.

The contrast with our guy is total. Brenda Rodgers has not put a single foot wrong since he arrived. He is without doubt the real deal. A great Celtic manager in the making.

  15. PETERLATCHFORDSBELLY

Yeah the guff between the two clubs is right there between the two men.

The hat is a busted flush out of his depth.

Brendan still finding his feet but has class and humanity in spades. Just wait until he is right in his groove. :)

  20. ROBERTTRESSELL

If its the JJ one I read it yesterday and again asked myself, like the whyte stories and DM stuff why has no one looked into the magic rats back story? there is no evidence of anything he has done in the business sector, in fact the only history he has is of a failed footballer and fledgling career in management.

The truth always comes out, Yesterday we say him for what he is, In the past the mask has slipped, He is graceless and a ignorant fool. I suspect with their games now getting harder we will see this ore often and no doubt a statement from the club with him moving on. Weird davie will take over or they will go for another rrm and we know how this plays out.

Its pretty scary how they dress these clowns up in a suit and call them professionals.

From the incomparable Not the View.. Marvellous.

The Book of Wisdom – Part the Umpteenth

    1. And so it was that at that time the Timmites had put aside their rejoicing, and had taken unto themselves once more their garments of sackcloth and they ate unto themselves but locusts and they commenced once more weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth, for the Hunnites had smitten them thrice and they were sorely tormented.

    2. And the Hunnites saw this and they rejoiced, for they had amongst them a prophet, and this prophet walked among the scribes and the pharisees and they did gaze upon this prophet with wonder, for he did gladden the hearts of the Hunnites.

    3. And there was one among the scribes who calleth unto himself Keith, who was the son of Jack, which means in the language of the Hunnites the one who speaketh through his back passage, and he did mock the Timmites saying, “Behold ye Timmites, a new prophet hath come among us, the Hunnites, and he is calleth unto himself Why-Tee, and he shall smite ye Timmites sorely once more, for sheckles hath he aplenty, and his sheckles shall not be counted for truly he hath as many sheckles as there are grains of sand in the desert, and many are his camels and his tents and his other things, but mainly his sheckles.”

    4. And the Timmites looked upon the prophet of the Hunnites and they were afraid of him and his mighty sheckles, for had the scribes not written that the Timmites would be once more smitten, and they bessecheth unto the Lord, “Oh Lord, spare us from the Hunnites and their uncountable sheckles, for we shall not countenance but one more year in the barren wilderness, nor yet can we endure more lamenting, and we are truly sick of locusts.”

    5. And the Lord heareth unto the prayers of the Timmites, and he spoketh unto them as unto a voice from a cloud, or a burning bush, or a piece of toast and he did say unto them, “Fear not my Timmites, for Why-Tee is but a false prophet who hath made unto himself but little profit, and I shall send among the Hunnites one who shall maketh unto their knees tremble and their beards falleth unto the floor and their camels reek with pungeant gas, for ye shall have vengeance on the Hunnites and it shall taste much sweeter than the sweetest locust.”

    6. And so it came to pass that the Lord sent among the Hunnites one calleth unto himself Hec-Tor, and Hec-Tor did seek out in the land of Israel the tax collectors and the thieves and the robbers and prostitutes, and he did say unto them, “I shall require but the services of the first of ye, for we shall go forth and find the prophet of the Hunnites and smite him sorely.”

    7. And when Hec-Tor and the tax collectors did finally gaze upon the prophet of the Hunnites he fell upon his knees, for he was afraid of the tax collectors, and he did void his rheum and he did void other less pleasant things as well, and he did rent his garments and gnasheth unto him his teeth and googleth unto him his eyeballs and he did beg mercy of Hec-Tor, saying, “Spare me from the wrath of the Hunnites, for I have deceiveth them and they shall stone me and flay me and useth me liken unto one of their goats.”

    8. And Hec-Tor saw this and he sayeth unto Why-Tee, “Truly ye shall endure much suffering ye false prophet, for the tax collectors shall have thy sheckles, and thy camels and thy sandals and thy robe off thine back, and ye shall be casteth out into the land of Ad-Min, for the Hunnites must suffer for the worship of mammon and false prophets, and they must wander the wilderness for three years, and ye shall go to Montrose and Berwick, and ye shall be mocked and scorned and treated liketh unto a plague.”

    9. And when the Hunnites heard this they raged and wept and wailed and gnashed their gums, for they knew they had been forsaken by the Lord.

    10. And the Timmites gave thanks unto the Lord, and the Lord saw this and he was pleased, and he sayeth unto the Timmites, “Truly shall ye put aside thine locusts for ye shall rejoice in the land of milk and honey and jelly and ice cream, for Beram Kayal hath come to pass.”

  24. GERRYFAETHEBRIG

I think your right about Gordon, Brendan maybe just testing Craig by dropping him, See what he is made of. But its a pretty expensive lesson. lol We’ll see. I just expected Dorus to come in and be really commanding and assure, he doesn’t yet. We’ll see mate.

I see the excuses are flying today, No gulf from warbble, Sign this guy up for life. I expect we will get our Sunday night bag of flying money statement from them, Celtic have set us up by destroying their own toilets and charging our sweet and innocent club for it. lol I am only half laughing, who knows with those clowns.

  25. There is a short podcast up on the Celtic Underground site which has Brendan’s full press conference from yesterday, the full version.

It’s very interesting, particularly when he talks about hype Rogic / Armstrong substitution.

Dembele press conference is on there too. Well worth a listen.

  26. CultsBhoy - sees right through Lawwell and the Board on

These are the days my friends.. These are the days…

    Yesterday fully met expectations.

I knew we’d concede ( although off side) but I reckoned anything between 3 and six on the cards for us. 5 will do lovely.

That keeper sweeper system works a treat. Tourre gives presence and assurance.

Rogic was great and so I was a little worried about Armstrong replacing him but I thought he stepped up no bother.

As you know I love Griffiths but feel relieved we now have bone Fide alternatives who offer options.

…and of course we have a proper manager and perhaps most importantly an enthused and rocking full Celtic Park.

This is the Celtic I expect… Yesterday was also the Sevco I expected,

The result was more than the scoreline… After Yesterday there is now a unanimous consensus among all ( Huns included) that there is now one clear top team in Scotland .. Celtic are the benchmark for all other teams and the reality is the gap will increase.
