  1. Watch out for some reckless and desperate signing at the orcdome. I can feel it. The Europa league money is about to be ‘spaffed’ without thought to the creditors……

I think they are that desperate. Unfortunately for them a few million quid spent in a hurry and probably on a loan deal for Kent ain’t gonna cut it

  2. God bless Neil Francis Lennon and his Mhen.

The good news for us and bad news for everyone else is we are only going to get better as players bed in and get to know one another.

  4. Official Celtic

NEIL Lennon summed up Celtic’s 2-0 win against Rangers at Ibrox as the perfect performance and said the criticism levelled at his side going into the game only intensified their motivation to reassert their dominance on the title race.

Three days after securing their place in the Europa League group stages Celtic arrived at Ibrox looking to continue their strong start to the new Premiership season.

Odsonne Edouard fired the Hoops ahead in the first half, and Celtic were unfortunate not to have a greater lead as the game drew to a close. Jonny Hayes sealed the win in added time with Celtic’s second to commemorate a dominant display from the champions.

“It was the perfect performance from start to finish, we were outstanding,” said Neil Lennon. “We took the game to Rangers and dominated the start. Everyone might have laughed at the kick-off but we wanted to play in their half, which we didn’t do in the corresponding fixture when we conceded a free-kick and were a goal down.

“There are many ways to skin a cat. This is a derby, it’s competitive and you have to fight fire with fire. You have to quieten the crowd and we did that to perfection today.

“From my own experience you have to press with aggression sometimes. For this fixture today, we felt it was the right way to go about business and with the players today we achieved that.

“I thought we deserved to win the game by more. The second goal was the icing on the cake. We defended strongly when we needed to. Elhamed had a brilliant performance coming in from the cold. The personality, character and strength of the team was evident today when everyone had written us off.

“We’re very proud, we take the three-points and, psychologically, it’s a good win for us.”

Prior to today’s game Celtic had won three from three in the league and scored 15 goals in the process, yet the Treble Treble winners were widely viewed as underdogs.

Neil Lennon said the win against Steven Gerrard’s side served as a stark reminder that his team should not have been underestimated coming into the first Glasgow derby of the season.

“We were an afterthought coming into this fixture,” said the manager. “It was all about the opposition and what they were going to do to us. We didn’t listen to any of it. We stayed strong and played brilliantly. We came here to win, we came here to be strong.

“Everyone wrote us off. We were very motivated, hungry and had great belief about us. You can’t listen to the noise surrounding the game, you have to stick to what you believe in. I have a great backroom team and we set our stall out to be competitive.

“We’ve been dominant but we’re not prepared to give up our titles and neither are these players or the board.”

  5. So in hindsight it is a good job that PL appointed NL in the Hampden park showers before Kilmarnock, Shewsbury or York City came calling?……lol

Before anyone starts I was joking and was one of the ones calling for NL to be given the job.

  6. I don’t think Forrest was tired.

I just think he was well marked out of the game offensively.

He did his job well and worked his pants off.Showed a different side to his game as a few of them.

That’s why he is a class act.Head down got on with the job he had to do.

We appear to have creative players like James, Christie and McGregor who have more than a few strings to their bow.

    Indeed they have , Lennie.

  8. Posted yesterday that I was confident.

As for bedwetters – stop reading the Record or listen to board haters.

If there is one thing to learn from this pre season it’s to stop listening to board haters. They nearly killed boli as a player with negativity and then julien nearly got the same. Only for their own gratification folks – it’s a form of prejudice.

To the positives. NFL got the bhoys up for it today and when that happens we win. We are the best team in Scotland still and are miles ahead of the vastly improved huns.

Compared to this time last year we are much improved both in squad and performances.

This time last year we had scored 7 and conceded 3 to get 9 out of 12 points.

What is it this year 17 to 3 for 12 out of 12?

    That was an amazing performance.

Well done Neil and well done to each of the 14 players who went out on to that pitch and put a marker down.

So good to put them all back in their box, their hyped up trainee manager, their average and unprofessional players, their gullible fans and their fawning media.

Have seldom felt so happy and proud after a victory, Glasgow derby or otherwise.

A couple of signings before the window closes and onwards to 9 in a row.

    Top 3 players:

    Button, Eduoard and Julien.

PS, at least half a dozen other players could be feeling upset at not being in the top 3 as we had so many top performances today.

  10. I’m eating humble pie here.

I was one of the “bed-wetters” before the game but the team really proved me wrong.

Tremendous performance and result. I’ll raise a celebratory glass this evening.

  11. This zombie orc gets it

From deadclub media with the score still 1 nil.

“Here’s a reality for us all, if we drop 3 points here:

If it wasn’t for 2 set-pieces we would be 7 points behind already”.

  12. BOURNESOUPRECIPE on 1ST SEPTEMBER 2019 10:22 AM

Celtic full backs are like buses, you wait for ages and then two come along at the same time, and with militaristic precision to beat the clock the Celtic scouting network strikes again, from Motherwell to Kilmarnock. Brendan Rodger’s blubbed last summer and left us in no doubt, as well as the lurch, that there is a Celtic system for signing players, it could be that nobody including him was in total control.

Who tracks Moritz Bauer from season to season, then contacts Stoke to set up a loan deal twenty minutes before the window closes?, eludes SMSM no ‘dithering’ here, as its straight onto the Celtic website. Similarly, who calls Southampton about Mohamed Elyounoussi ‘got this one over the line’ no bother, medical in London hey presto hooped up, and raring to go.

There is a signing strategy its just that, if its not Peter then who is it?

Today’s fixture in hell, has hardly had time to develop a pattern for a new club finding its way, but since they were allowed to move the goalposts reducing fenian bastard numbers to hundreds, Celtic are on a losing streak of two. Being found guilty of racism by UEFA is new for Sevco, being found guilty of racism twice in the same week is a new world record – shirley?

Neil Lennon has made selection mistakes in his short reign, notably against Cluj, he faces choices at full back again, and I hope he doesn’t repeat them, only a fool they said would predict the score in an ‘old firm’ game, and since the fixture, or term doesn’t exist I’m going for

I never seen one poster call any of our players a “pig”

Pig in a poke is just a phrase used for something that doesn’t fit. In fairness both Julienne and Boli looked as though they didn’t fit. NOW THEY DO.

It shouldn’t be forgotten that Madden allowed them to boot f**k out of us in the first half – the Boli tackle was a straight red…

  16. The waggon mouthed Celtic fans who were crucifying,Jullien,Boli, and bemoaning the loans of around £19 million worth of players, should come on and apologise. For weeks we have been hearing from them, how bad our signing policy was.Today, these abused guys showed them all.Jamesy, gave up mutch of his attacking role,as did,Tony,to stifle the Huns threat of crosses.Unseen, but so effective.Lenny had done his homework.

Dont want to be digging individual posters up,but FFS,give the players, and team,a chance to gel.Not a great deal to ask, instead of the vitriol directed at players, after a couple of games.Forget your hatred of PL,and support the team.

Lenny in his press confrences, has alluded to the fact.Unfounded hysteria among the support.Thank God the players dont read thes eejits.

  17. Well, I predicted 3-2 but I’ll accept 2-0.

Jobo I’ll try and narrow down my 3 from Bitton, Jullien, Boli and Elhamed before 10pm. It’s not going to be easy!

  20. Boli did well. Where will Taylor fit in? Benchwarmer?

I agree with the comments regarding Forrest today….just wasn’t his day but it happens. He’s been the hero on so many occasions, he has plenty of credit in the bank. I still expect him to be a POTY contender.

Just nice that we have a squad where we can bring someone like Ntcham on.

“With respect, he’s getting the basics of management wrong at crucial stages of matches, team selection tactics and subs”

“Aribo was a absolute shambles today. Make not mistake about it, he was signed to be the quality but was dreadful (he was in good company). A game at Ibrox to lay down a marker and probably only McGregor and possibly flano get anywhere near pass marks. Shambles”

“Jack was dreadful. Continually having to tackle due to his shit pass in the first place”.
