  1. MEA CULPA on 1ST SEPTEMBER 2019 2:35 PM

I’ve cut him slack for some interesting work in the past.

His advance appraisal of what today’s game would bring, was totally misinformed, ignorant and vicious, tho.

JJ’s no stranger to the taste of humble pie – I hope he has the integrity to eat plenty, just as you suggest.

I cannot stop smiling when I recall all those doomsday merchants and naysayers – in the meeja and on this very site – pishen and glossing their drawers in equal measure on how poor we wur and how mighty The ragers.

    Debut defence tae!!

  2. Ballsy stuff, from top man Paul67 wasn’t enough , SMSM and Scotland at large forgot that Celtic have better players, than Rainjurz after a summer Bosmanism in Poundland, we turned up with our worthy new recruits for the Nine’ and took the points, where they’ll remain, in Paradise. Blood and thunder works in dead rubbers sometimes, but Celtic and big men, will come out top, over course and distance.

The criminal notion that Sevco are Rainjurz, was once again their downfall, and big name youth coaches can only do so much, especially when your ‘£20M man’ is unsellable and unselectable. Neil Lennon had found faith in his new men just in time for the new club still finding its way, a mere open goal, against a ragamuffin collection, of nothings has beens, and never weres.

The ticket allocation novelty now worn off, Celtic went for the jugular, Lenny picked giant Forster over nervous Gordon, and fresh from the much ignored thumping of of the Swedish Champions, heaped problems on Seethen’s men from the kick off. SMSM scented trouble in a defence and for them sadly, it never materialised in a completely ‘new back four’ including serious money spent, Celtic gave not a sniff.

El Hamed was colossal wide right, Jullien, Bitton and Bolingoli guarded their zones neatly and bossed it, the latter brought the Celtic support onside. Brown may lose the odd battle but wins the war, the rest especially French Eddy, were sublime.

In a delicious irony, in time honoured tradition, the little gem that is Jonny Hayes kept his composure long enough to show his tatts and score in the time Bobby Tait would have added on had he not retired, and left the job for Bobby Madden.

  3. Don’t say I didn’t tell you all….

Celtic @ 2/1 today was like finding money in the street!

2-0 was my prediction for weeks, similar feeling to the 2011 New Years game. I knew Lenny would get it right and he did 😃

When I had Eddy first goal and then the sneaky double @ 50/1 too… well that was just the icing on the cake.

I also said Julien was gonna be a rock and that all the players needed time to bed in and gel.

Big Nir wash outstanding today too, hope it’s not too serious. Boli done his job, still a few slack passes but he’ll learn and will only improve.

Johnny Hayes is a fantastic squad player. All good squads need guys like that.

At least 7 out of 10 for every player today.

    Here’s my next prediction.

Lenny will build us something special as this time he will be backed by the board 😃😀

    Magic Celtic, just magic.

    Hail Hail 💚🍀⚽️⚽️✅💪🏼

  4. Robinbhoy-

  5. Excellent performance from the Bhoys today…loved how the new ghuys fought as game went on.

    Hail hail Neil Lennon.

  6. Hello again all you young rebels.

Said to myself ” wont post again until this mad transfer window

is over “, but that victory today just made me realise, doesn’t

matter what we all think should happen, it doesn’t work that way

with Celtic, this club is magical, mystical, empyrical, o.k i’m

struggling now and looking up the thesaurus.

    New Huns 0 Celtic 2

Won’t find that in the time capsule, maybe by the time they open

the lid we will have a sevco 3 or could be 13 teen, there doesn’t

seem to be an end to their existance, but… but.. still got faith in

Auldheid, Canalamar, and the res 12 brigados.

Night, Night, from a hoopy happy Melbourne.

  7. Shortbread sick as pigs.

All about what the huns should have done.

    Middens!

Another sleepless night for them too!

    Have we signed VICTOR yet?

  8. To theperson who called.Jullien, and Boli”Pigs in a poke”,we will be waiting your apology, and humble pie,for outragious comments on players who had barely settled.

    You must be so proud.

  9. Can you hear the pantywetters sing?

    Nooooo, nooooo…..

Too many of our fans sucked the old MSM nipple this week that we were facing Brazil 1970 today.

Bubble truly burst. They look a ragbag of mediocrity, aged old men and WATP snotters…

    Beautiful Sunday csc

  10. Afternoon folks,

Hat doffed to Neil, got his tactics spot on. Was at the Cluj match a few weeks ago and was very critical of Neil for his line up and substitution. Today was the complete opposite, got the team selection correct, subs were good and tactics excellent.

Big Julian was immense, looks like we may have the dominating centre half we have been needing for the last few years. Elhamed is a very solid signing, cool head and tough as well. Had a very good game. Bolingoli had a fine game, and Mikey Johnston was very effective in keeping Tavernier quiet, which was crucial. The kid put in an exceptional defensive shift, did not think he had that in him. As well as setting up the first goal.

In the middle of the park the guys worked exceptionally hard to close down Sevco, and the work of Christie especially was very important in my humble opinion. A well drilled team performance and we got our reward with a victory.

  11. macjay1 for Neil Lennon on

    Just returned from Bangkok CSC.

Privileged to meet the Thai Tims couple.

    Lovely hospitable people .

    A stressful but magical evening.

What more can we ask of our Celtic and Lennie ?

HOT SMOKED on 1ST SEPTEMBER 2019 2:54 PM

For the short time he was on , he got stuck in.

    That`ll do me.

  13. Spare a thought and a prayer for those folk in the path of Dorian.

    Winds now reaching 175mph. Unthinkable.

After the 6:30 rise I had planned a nap before noon mass but I’m still too wide awake looking at highlights.

    I can sleep this afternoon

  14. Moritz looked sharp, positionally aware and has decent forward intent and capability – in the 30 mins we saw of him HH

  15. BADA BING

How did that defence we put together at the last minute perform today. That shocking dereliction of duty,by PL.

Sometimes it takes a while to get quality in.Not allowed by you ,it seems. We now have 2 RBs,2,LBs,4 CHs,but we never replaced,a guy going,a guy,on loan, and a guy, coming to the end of his carreer with us.

I dont expect anything else, but more moans.

Reality, what a load of fans need.Judgeing players on a couple of games.Fill your boots.

  16. TURKEYBHOY on1ST SEPTEMBER 2019 2:50 PM

Ive always maintained that u dont slag off players like that even if they have a bad game(s) but some posters on here have been dreadful IMO in the last couple of weeks & I suspect havent been thro the barren times.

  17. A wee shout out to NL he made a balls of it against Cluj but his team selection & substitutions were bang on today.

  18. To be honest I got a lot of confidence from watching the Celtic tv ‘access all areas’ clip produced yesterday from our trip to Sweden.

You really got the sense of unity and togetherness in that team/squad…lead by broonie and big julien.

    Today confirmed this

We have had much silkier visits to ibrox but never have i seen a more well drilled and together celtic performance.

You cannot buy that kind of squad togetherness.

The future for this team looks so bright.

Lennon said we have the makings of a really special team.I believe him.

We knew we could win matches when the going is good and the lovely football can be played.

We now know we can roll up our sleeves and battle it out even with a defence of almost strangers.

So happy with today….even better than the maulings we have dished out to them in recent years.

  19. Neil at the end of the match; “well played” * shakes hand* X 3 with their bench then turns to camera Raises his hands “WOO HOO” with a big smile 😁 Still laughing at that.

Really professional performance. Ice cool and that’s the difference with our players.

We made them look bang average today and that a psychological blow for them as they normally do that for themselves. 😎

  20. Ray Winstone's Big Disembodied Heid on

Celtic @ 2/1 against was money for old rope. Hope yeez aw filled yer boots.

  21. The Battered Bunnet on

    JJ

Bauer closed down his side of the pitch perfectly, and was rewarded by Jones with a red card booting after Bauer had skipped past him.

More generally, the defensive performance shows what you get when you buy experienced defenders coming into the peak performance zone. Elhamed 28, Jullien 26, Boli 24 and Bauer 27 were perfectly in control all day, and I have to mention Bitton who, while still learning the position, was terrific today until he popped his hamstring.

  22. Loved big Christopher’s interview after the game recognising we haven’t had it all our own way this season but that we are all together both on and off field. He will be a colossus for us….

  23. Thought the defending won today’s game esp in 2nd half. Blocked space , defended crosses, chased , harried and broke well with enough good passing to create danger. Good organisation, covering for one another and desire. Boli,Julien, ElHamed and Bitton all stand outs. Left Forster without needing to perform any heroics. Hope they all take lots of confidence from game esp. Boli.

  24. Enjoy your night boys.

I know I’ve been a big negative by all I want is what’s best for Celtic and to create history and I want our board to be as ambitious as us.

    HH. ☘️☘️☘️☘️

  25. Well done Celtic and NFL brilliant.

    Every player did us proud.

I thought we would be bullied and not cope defensively, never happier to be wrong, brilliant feeling.

Let’s add a couple more to give us strength in depth for campaign and Euro games.

Just as i was celebrating our result, i heard the news Jimmy Bells son was sacked for fiddlinģ money from the Sevco coffers.

    Delicious!

  26. Just think when we get a settled back four and Julien and Ajer form their partnership.

Add Turnbull in January and we’ll run away with this league.

  27. A well earned 3 points in what was , a pretty poor game of football (and no, I don’t give a flying one, that it was).

Even for just 70 minutes, Bitton was our most alert defender, and such a shame he lost out on the champagne because he got injured.

Our captain and Calmac were worth 4 of theirs.

No league was won or lost today but we got a nice 3 point cushion.

Make sure you sympathise with every Hun you meet :-)

  28. That Huns team look like they’re going to struggle to break down organized defenses this season

    We don’t

  29. According to Sky pre the game we only had one leader left i.e. Bronnie – well now what about = Jullien, El Hamed, Ryan, Nir, Calmac, Eddie????????????????????
