  1. Watching again, Forrest is fouled twice, by Bates and Docherty, before the ball is humped forward for Boyata to make a mess of it

…………………..If the referee and linesmen, and where necessary the goal line assistants, are all linked up by microphone, are there recordings of the communications betweeen them, and should clubs have access to those recordings post match for the purposes of transparency, clarity and fair play?

Now those would be transcripts worth seeing/hearing

  4. BRTH.

A few years ago SKY broadcast a Referee Masterclass programme with Collina. I think it was at the end of the first season of the officials behind the goal.

He explained the protocol of officials linked by mics and headsets and emphasised that they are instructed to give clear repeated instruction to the ref to allow him to make the decision contemporaneously eg if a defender makes a legal tackle in the box but the forward falls over they shout “No Penalty , No Penalty , No Penalty” rather than explain what they have seen.

This prevents the ref blowing whistle pointing at the spot and then have to change his decision after intervention of his assistant.

I think today we have just seen an over exuberant linesman picked up by the camera…it is likely that this is the norm but we (nor the camera) are not usually looking at the linesman.

I think it was a yellow at most.

How good were the Young Celts Today?

  9. Brogan Rogan Trevino and Hogan on

There was a tweet earlier on today from a somewhat disgruntled bear about the choice of music at Ibrox.

The member of the Twitterati concerned was annoyed at whoever was playing the tunes at Ibrox as apparently when the bears were queuing up to leave the ground the loudspeakers were belting out “We’re having a party!”

  10. For me: Simunovic was a stupid tackle and had it been against a Ce,tic player I’d have been shouting RED, whether or not it would have been given is a totally different matter. For me it was a RED. I’ve never seen a decision articulated with such venom by an official though. That does not excuse the inconsistent refereeing by Collum throughout the remainder of the game. Those two issues should not be conflated though. Having said that, 3 outstanding goals, great debut by Scott Bain, great intro by Eddie and a MOM performance by Broony. A very satisfactory day.

you and I , and everyone else knew exactly what the silly wee boy linesman ( old school I know) was up to.

Was it ever thus. The man is not an idiot, just doing what he is told . As I said, not an idiot just doing what he believes will aid his career.

The fact that he believes this behaviour will aid his career says a lot about him.

I will stop being polite, he is an utter fud.

  12. petec on 11th March 2018 10:00 pm

O our bhoys did brilliant despite one of the worst refereeing performances I’ve seen for a long time

Keep me in your prayers petec having another family medical problem at the minute with my brother-in-law , but that’s not for today

    keep the faith

  13. So, The Rangers couldn’t get a point against us

    – at home

    – with two free goals

    – against ten men for more than 30 minutes

    – with four players brought in on loan

    – with a striker worth 30 million pounds who thought it be funny to go for an in-off-the-post shot from 2 feet

    – with a referee who sees things their way

    – with a linesman who sees the things their way

    – with a manager who is on the cusp of greatness

    – with a team in form of their (short) lives with 5 wins in a row

    – who have never lost a game when candyass scores

I must have been dreaming it, surely.

  14. CELTIC

    Brilliant

  15. Facts, as heard by me but not ratified…

Brendan is the first Celtic manager to win four games in a row against a team playing at Ibrox.

The Rangers were 7 points behind Celtic when Murty took over, now they are nine behind and we have a game in hand. And yet he was being lauded as doing such a great job.

  16. What is the Stars on

Just listened to Brendans post match interview

    Q..How does that feel ?

    A..it feels grrreat

Now for some reason Sky have cut out his next sentence where he clearly says

    Carthago Delenda Est !!!

Anyone know why they cut that bit out

  17. dena29,

When they realise things, it will be too late.

    Celtic are just Rocking.

So sad to hear of another not good situation.

I thought I was bad having my biggest Sister Mary break a bone in her wrist a week before the skiing trip to Switzerland/France.

Mary is Incredible. Selfless disnae even begin to………

  18. Whilst Ntcham got my vote for motm, and Scott Bain has been praised for his work with the gloves and his feet, I think that McGregor also had a terrific game.

I also thought Boyata was very in-Boyata like today. I’ve asked lots of times when folks are giving him a bombscare title, when was the last time a Boyata mistake cost us a goal. And no-one has ever provided an answer. Well now they can. It was today.

So in future I will re-phrase the question. When was the last time Boyata made a mistake which cost a goal and lost us points… … see what I did there ;)

I thought Brendan summed it up well “he’ll have better games”.

I read back on the comments during the game and noticed a number of times there was angst expressed about us playing the ball around at the back.

And I’ll say it again. It’s a tactic that has seen us lose only 2 games domestically since Brendan took over. So whether you like it or not, it works.

All I have asked for is that we sometimes move the ball upfield more quickly. Just sometimes. Step forward Mr Brown and Mr Dembele.

  19. CultsBhoy- Last of the famous international PlayBhoys on

Boyata’s days must surely be numbered. Brendan can not deny the evidence of today.

  22. Been a good day, was what I hoped to say

Also , I wanted to pass on my best wishes to anyone who needed a little encouragement.

Thanks saw this quote last week and it certainly helped me in my very tough week

Nelson Mandela always said that “ he never lost, he either won or learned”.

    Not a bad approach.
