Referring to a team no longer with us

753

Let’s be clear, you cannot punish a player on the basis that he has made a comment which is only offensive, offence is subjective, highly so in Scottish football, where thousands await the opportunity.

Nor can you punish a player for a derogatory remark which may offend, especially if the remark does not call into question the probity of the subject.  “Hearts are rotten, we beat them easily twice this season”, is a derogatory remark and will offend some Hearts fans, but it also falls into the category of being a fair opinion.

And without pointing out the obvious, you cannot offend the dead.  John Guidetti and the club are right to contest this ridiculous charge, which by context, clearly refers to a team no longer with us.

I was absolutely astonished to read that newco (and former oldco) director, Paul Murray, explained Dave King’s absence from newco’s recent share as he is waiting until the SFA “have completed their review of Dave’s status before he can fully participate in the future of the Club”.

The SFA have no issue whatsoever in Dave King investing heavily in newco, or in owning all shares.  Indeed, King is already the largest shareholder, which has attracted no attention from the football authorities.

The prospect of King sloping off if the SFA judge him not Fit and Proper (which I think they will), is a fabulous twist in the work of this legendary non-executive director of a dead club.  He sat on the oldco board which paid EBTs for so many years, he stayed while they made no provision for the HMRC tax case, plunging into the transfer market instead.  Now he awaits the whim of the SFA before deciding to invest, having led newco away from their primary source of funding.

What a star.

    HT,

    Edit.

You know I disagree with your premise but I also know you feel passionately about it.

If anyone wants their organisation to act then they should get off their arse and force them to do something.

    ******

I agree,, but a bit of leadership from said bodies would create an impetus that would support the many individuals who have already turned their backs on SFA events.

It is very frustrating being out of the mainstream of the support re attendance at games.

It leads to a charge of copping out, as I don’t attend many matches nowadays.

I think the JG song is wrong.

    The huns are no’ deid.

    Rangers 1872 are deid.

The huns are alive and, as usual, kicking.

All the anti-Celtic aggro we are witnessing (New Balance highjack, Broonie night oot, DUnt rubbish, JG song, etc) is part of the GSL/3 Bares/SFA-huns lamentable attempt to get their fans’ money back into the tribute act.

“Oh, John Guidetti, puts the ball in the net-y,

he’s a Super Swede, and Rangers are deid,

    walking in Guidetti wonderland.”

    Fixed!!!

Not at all, as a Celtic supporter you’re entitled to your opinion and I do get your frustration, it would have me climbing the walls.

I just don’t think there’s the inclination or motivation amongst the support to call for or initiate a large scale boycott, and that would include the leadership of any supporters body.

  4. Oh dear. Scotland raises its skirts and underneath ain’t too pretty.

So may I ask the blog.

Who believes that celtic should publicly attack both the sfa and the rst?

    Who believes they will?

Absolutely. They are all in it together including SMSM who began to ramp things up from the moment the ink on the R.I.P Rangers pages was dry. We owe a debt of gratitude in the part they all played in hastening liquidation.

The realisation that Celtic didn’t have an ‘armageddon’ but thrived on the demise of Rangers is the bitterest pill they’ve had to swallow.

From strength to strength have gone Celtic, to the phoney semi final where ‘they’ were allowed by ‘this country’ to reintroduce songs banned by UEFA in 2005, whilst they hit a brick wall on the park, with their wee diddy team.

The SFA, SMSM, Sevco all huns all in a mess together with the zombie club continuing to flat line, the more the Celtic success, the more we hear from a compliance officer.

    Lifted from Scots law:

Which Former Directors of Rangers plc might be Disqualified as not “Fit and Proper”?

Every director and office bearer of Rangers going back to the 15th February 2007 falls foul of the 5-year pre-insolvency rule.

    That list is as follows:-

    Craig Whyte

    Dave King

    Andrew Ellis

    Gary Withey

    Phil Betts

    John Greig

    John McClelland

    Martin Bain

    Donald McIntyre

    Alastair Johnston

    Paul Murray !!!!!!!!!

    Donald Muir

    Michael McGill

    James Wilson

    Sir David Murray

Quite how is Mr Murray, who is at the head of the “Blue Knights” going to get round this issue?

Mr Regan has made it clear – all he needs to do is to fill in the form and say that he is a fit and proper person! The problem is solved!

    …………………………

That is a motley crue of Huns

Not so sure about Donald Muir being on the list, I thought he was a TSB appointee to the ‘Bored” with the sole purpose of stopping the profligacy of the rest of the crue – just long enough for the TSB to offload the whole stinking mess.

    Donald Muir: agent orange?

  7. And cmon guys. Of course if any player or manager at celtic is successful they must want to leave. And of course the Huns future is so shiny and so bright.

    McIntyre to NL:

Neil – clearly new Rangers won’t be competitive in the top league for some years. Should they get into the sort of debt situation that liquidated the old club so Celtic have the benefit of the competition?

    Or maybe not!

Who believes that celtic should publicly attack both the sfa and the rst?

    Who believes they will?

The RST is an irrelevance with a WATP agenda, so no attack.

The SFA are a relevance with a WATP hidden agenda so yes, attack.

Will we? Who knows, but it will have to be done with the head rather than the heart.

  10. I see 4 Zombies in court for singing sectarian songs against Raith Rovers, ..charged under the OB…

  11. ttt

I put that crap by the RST up cos I thought people would want to read it to see how fecked up in the head they are.

I care not a jot about them.

And I agree 100% that the enemy is the establishment and not the huns, the huns are only doing what comes natural to them, lie, steal, cheat, and all the rest, I don’t blame them for it, they can’t help it, it’s in their DNA.

Football is a sport, and any defenition of a sport has to start from the premis of a level playing field, some sports have handicaps in an attempt to level the playing field, golf being a very good example, problem we have is the game is run by huns for the benefit of their establishment team.

As a fan I contribute feck all to them, I contribute to Celtic, and I can’t get the head around supporters whinging about the sfa, yet keep them in power, a simple boycott would work, this I agree is where the trust should do their bit, coordinate things to bring about the downfall of the real enemy.

They don’t have the will IMO, nor the savvy to take them on, or they would have, they are obviously happy with the governance of the game.
