Result achieved for Celtic but Danny Lennon will see promise for Saturday

903

It’s difficult to analyse Celtic’s performance last night.  For much of the game the players were clearly enjoying themselves and should have been rewarded with more goals, but Dunfermline were incredibly porous in central midfield.  Ki and Commons were able to stage a passing master-class which was pleasing on the eye.

The fact that the deluge of goals didn’t come is not particularly concerning.  Celtic don’t make a habit of profligacy in front of goals, making chances is more of a problem, so it would be a mistake to read too much into one game.

While Dunfermline were out of the contest for most of the evening they also retained two strikers, something we seldom see from SPL visitors at Celtic Park, so that fact that they were able to construct an attempt at goal five minutes from time was not surprising.

Celtic got what they needed from the game but Danny Lennon, who brings St Mirren to Celtic Park on Saturday, will also have seen enough to let him form a decent game-plan, especially if Celtic play a 4-4-2 with two wingers, as they finished the game yesterday.

Do you think Dylan McGeouch would have made a difference,if he had been available tonight ?

    Possibly better ball retention ?

  4. Wonder who the mole is up at Pittodrie?

First he told the huns Richard Forster was good enough for them and that they might get him on loan for a year if they asked Aberdeen.

Secondly, he has told them to ‘swoop’ for the former Aberdeen player of 4 years as Aberdeen will be fairly easy to deal with and theyl get him for a five figure..

Do you think its Mark McGhee after everyone at Celtic put him on call bar after his next Roy Aitken in the form of Adam Virgo landed at the Park after we ‘penny pinched’ him from Brighton for seven figures…

There is someone within Pittodrie with a direct line into ibrox – and Id love Aberdeen to hand whoever it is a contract for life!

He looks incredible, the way he finished that last goal, it was absolutely frightening how good it was. It is never easy to judge how good players will become but he, IMO, will be the best out and out striker in the world within the next 5 years.

I don’t. Remember Spiers spirited defence of Dougie-Dougie and McCurry. Spiers also approved the decision to report Celtic to UEFA.

Here we have a Bill specifically designed to criminalise Celtic fans. What’s more Ms Grahame admitted that. It also appears that our fans are being arrested under the provisions of this Bill even before it’s passed into law. We’re also under surveillance of a type seldom seen in democracies. A Catholic bishop has suffered this intrusion as has a 17 year-old who was subsequently jailed at Polmont.

I, for one, would not want Spiers anywhere near this. This is far too serious a matter.

Humour is a great way of exposing the hypocrisy at play here.

I remember reading about a Tim contacting the Daily Record about footage of two Celtic players singing rebel songs in the centre of Glasgow.

Needless to say the paper were extremely interested in covering this until they were sent footage of Steven McManus and Gary Caldwell singing Flower of Scotland at Hampden!

  15. Listening to Snyde there boys I’ve never seen a debate like this Inverness red card in my puff, I wonder if it was Huns that got a bit of luck would this be mentioned.

I remember last year baw bag butcher was moaning cos Huns fouled Inverness player and no foul was given and Huns went up park and scored but there was no mention in any of the papers or any phone ins but when mark Wilson didn’t get a red card against utd it was all over the papers and raised on phone INS.

I also heard fraser say if Scottish footy had all the money in the world he wouldn’t want video evidence brought in hmmm i wonder why, is it maybe cos the establishment team are protected by the men in blank and without that were would they be.

  16. Another quick point, why has there been no mention of mr Thompson waiving for offside but lomas disputed this another strange 1 and no highlights anywhere.

  17. The Kids did well in patches but were out-passed for most of the game.

Maybe concentrated too much on trying to play pure football. It was noticable that when we got tight to them they surrendered the ball easier.

As long as our Bhoys learned from tonight then the experience will serve them well in their development.

Don’t know if there was any real age difference – but I would say some of the Barca lads looked 2-3 years ahead of our Bhoys in tactics/ game skills.

We have some good material in that squad – question is how do we get them quality game-time and bring through the next batch of Aidens and JF’s?

Enjoyed the game – pity about the result!

  20. Question for thos Scottish bhoys on here.

Will the carry on over the governments response to Celtic beating Rangers on a Wednesday night and subsequent events – hit the SNP at the polls (as in Celtic fans not voting for them)

Will Celtic fans continue to vote for them

Or will the very same response have galvanised racist Scotland into believing they are ‘the peepils’ party?

Answer to your second question which also answers your first.

I think Trout already knows the answer to that question, hence the whoring himself and the SNP to the anti us brigade.
