Result achieved for Celtic but Danny Lennon will see promise for Saturday

903

It’s difficult to analyse Celtic’s performance last night.  For much of the game the players were clearly enjoying themselves and should have been rewarded with more goals, but Dunfermline were incredibly porous in central midfield.  Ki and Commons were able to stage a passing master-class which was pleasing on the eye.

The fact that the deluge of goals didn’t come is not particularly concerning.  Celtic don’t make a habit of profligacy in front of goals, making chances is more of a problem, so it would be a mistake to read too much into one game.

While Dunfermline were out of the contest for most of the evening they also retained two strikers, something we seldom see from SPL visitors at Celtic Park, so that fact that they were able to construct an attempt at goal five minutes from time was not surprising.

Celtic got what they needed from the game but Danny Lennon, who brings St Mirren to Celtic Park on Saturday, will also have seen enough to let him form a decent game-plan, especially if Celtic play a 4-4-2 with two wingers, as they finished the game yesterday.

The exclusion orders were great craic.

Essentially what the British Government was saying was that you were too dangerous a person to lay foot in England, Scotland or Wales.

However, you were free to roam the north of Ireland as you pleased – why?

Well because you had done nothing wrong and more importantly if you indeed were a bad boy, it didn’t matter what damage you did because you were over there in the 6 counties.

At the same time they tried to tell us we were as British as Finchley.

You couldn’t make it up – Damn I forgot that is exactly what they did do.

On a human level though this guy is only 22 is clearly desperate for a start anywhere, and has been convinced by employees of a vulture-capitalist that everything is OK and pays his own money to sign. The same people know he’ll be on the first list of contracts to be ripped-up when the balloon goes up.

Do not know what percentage of Celtic supporters voted for the SNP earlier this year, but I did read that more Roman Catholics voted for them than for any other Party. The scale of their victory in May suggested across the board support, replacing the Labour Party even in Glasgow. In government on their own however they have been a disaster. To use a Celtic-Rangers match in March as the basis for your signature policy shows immaturity in the extreme. One rule in politics is that if you are in deep stop digging. Their performance thus far tells me that they are digging their own political grave!

  20. Scotland Hall of Fame was started a number of years ago inducting players that had 50 caps or more.

Now they’ve done all that the bottom of the barrow is being well and truely scapped to dig out an English captain for the SCOTTISH hall of fame just so they can have an annual dinner. Some true Scots them.

They lost my vote following the ‘shame game’ and their willingness to paint us in a bad light in order to win votes amongst those educated by the front page of the S*n and D**ly R*c*rd.

Any roads, my missus once met Alex Salmond at her workplace and doesn’t have a very nice recollection of him – her words were along the lines of: I’m glad he didn’t come into the box store, while I was there, by himself.

She generally shudders whenever she recalls this and his, erm, ‘glazed, beedy eyes’.

Despite this, I continued to vote SNP, as I fancy swapping my Westminster masters that don’t care for Holyrood and Brussels masters that don’t care. I’m a tad stupid like that.
