RONALDO AND CO WOE: NO 10 IN A ROW

CRISTIANO RONALDO and his Juventus team-mates have “done a Celtic” and blown the chance of 10 in a row.

The Hoops and the Serie A giants kicked off the season looking to go into double figures in their domination of their countries.

Unfortunately, the quest of the Parkhead men to make history came off the rails far too early and remote chances of a dramatic comeback in the Premiership were dynamited with Callum McGregor’s own goal at Ibrox on January 2.

Club legend Neil Lennon paid the ultimate price of failure when he departed in February two days after a dismal defeat against Ross County in Dingwall.

The Turin club, managed by the iconic Andrea Pirlo, have also struggled and saw their dwindling bid ended yesterday with five games still to go.

Mathematically, though, they cannot catch leaders Inter Milan following the San Siro outfit’s 2-0 victory at Crotone.

Ronaldo and Co may even miss out on Champions League football as they sit in fifth place.

The Portuguse superstar, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, is growing unhappy at Juve and there have been reports of a sensational return to Manchester United in the summer.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has failed to go beyond the quarter-finals of Europe’s elite tournament since swapping Real Madrid for Turin in 2018.
