There would have been no surprise reading Ronny Deila’s ‘heaven and hell’ season in the Celtic View. It must have been an enthralling season for the manager but, good grief, it started with an 8.6 on the Strachan Early Season Scale.
These experiences mark us. We’ve watched footballers and managers grow weary (another word for lazy) in the past, as their early groundwork waned during good times, but memories like Legia or Maribor will inform every decision Ronny Deila makes for the next four months. He needs to use that ‘Never again’ month as fuel right now.
Did you sign the petition yesterday to demand the Scottish Government repeal their ill-conceived nonsense of a law which the entire country outside of Holyrood, and a few elites at Police Scotland, know is an abomination? If not, here’s your chance.

‘Will the SNP respect the outcome of the Sept plebiscite where they claimed it was a once in a lifetime event?’

I’m not sure the SNP leadership would want another referendum straight away.
The headache they have is managing the expectations of their supporters.

If he thinks it can make a difference it will do everything it can to make that difference.
If he doesn’t think it can then it goes with the flow.

Ernie
Can’t believe for one moment the Tories would contemplate FFA for Scotland.
Correct they don’t have the balls to do it………………………
theglasgowcelticway,
The Tories will now come up with some sort of offer that involves the Scottish Government raising taxes. They believe this would be a poisoned chalice – and if it is offered as part of a more powers package how can the SNP refuse?
TGCW @ 9.12
Prepare to be shocked.
The Barnett formula will go — FFA is the easiest and cleanest way.
Westminster will turn into a part time English parliament.
Scottish MP’s — plus Wales and NI — will become second class.
Cheap and nasty way to get EVEL up and running.
Ernie, how many Labour candidates feckin hate the Tic? Do you base your support on what MP have with regards to agendas or hatred for your team? Christ sake, who give a flying feck if your a Proddy or a tim, a Muslim or a Hindhu. If your policies support the majority of us Scots and you want to represent my beliefs then, who bloody cares. Get over it man

Congratulations to Ernie for making this prediction: “The SNP will implode after the referendum”.

As I’ve said before I just hadn’t considered that Salmond would resign so quickly. I contend that if he hadn’t there would have been civil war. I suspect he knew that and why he fell on his sword.
I watched him arriving at the count last night. I’m sure you did too.
Seems he only turns up when he wins.
You’ll remember he didn’t show up at the referendum declaration.
He’d told us it was the most important event in 300 years of Scottish history but didn’t have the good grace or guts to show up to hear the result.
What a guy.
In a year, the Barnett Formula will have been scrapped or be under serious review.

Have you ever been at a game and communicated to somebody that you really ****ing hate the opposition?
Would you expect it to be brought up years later with no context?
Ed Milliband has resigned as leader of the Labour Party
The Next Referendum in Scotland will be for the UK leaving the EU. I believe we are well and truly fecked. . I understand more UK voters opted for UKIP than voted for the SNP. Thank the gods for the 1st past the post system.

The Tories would need to be very careful. They must now realise how good the SNP are at putting their points across, they’ve managed the last two campaigns fantastically well. They’ll be scared that every concession to a party as able as the SNP will eventually lead to separation.

An exit from the EU must open the door to another referendum.

Will the SNP respect the outcome of the Sept plebiscite where they claimed it was a once in a lifetime event? And no I am not a unionist but it is a fair question.
————————————————-
I’m not sure that they have any choice in the matter.
They’ll be delighted with the little bit of power that England has afforded to them, for the time being at least.
It’s all nonsense anyway. I tend to look at the bigger picture, the global powers that rule all of our lives – regardless of whom we elect.
That’s why I don’t vote – it’s pointless.
Only Jesus Christ can save humanity from itself.

Salmons didnae fall on his sword. He took it to Westminster. Watch his antics now.
No holding him.
Was watching Sevilla v Fiorentina last night.
Emdy else see the bloke in the Hoops, 2003 Edition?

Sour plooms ad nauseum on here…………………not to my taste
Personal attacks on SNP politicians…………that has been hugely successful
IMO the Tories will give Scotland heehaw. Basically they don’t have to if they have a majority as well as the DUP in reserve to add a few extra votes if needed.

Although Nicola Sturgeon categorically reitterates that yesterday’s result is not a mandate for another neverendum, will her storm troopers follow her line.?
To many of her followers and elected inexperienced and possibly naive members” independence ” is the ultimate overriding priority, and any price will be worthwhile to achieve that goal.
After all is that not the only reason the snp exist for?
Expect more focus on constitutional issues rather than issues that really matter. Eg austerity.
If there is a will there is a way. Subsequently I have never heard a convincing argument to justify last years £444 million underspend when our councils have food banks in their midst’s.
Expect more of the same.

“British people have asked us to complete the job we started 5 yrs ago of turning Britain around. Will get straight back to work on that task” – George Osborne tweeting earlier this morning. The Tories think they need to be careful at all. 5 more years of cuts – full steam ahead. They believe have the mandate – more so now than in the previous 5 years.Their hand has been strengthened.
theglasgowcelticway,
TheTories’ belief is that the SNP have it easy at the moment as they can make spending decisions without having to decide how and where to raise the money from. They believe it would be a different dynamic if tax is brought into the equation – not saying I necessarily agree, just what I think they will do.

FFA, in monetary terms, will amount to less than heehaw. Hence the attraction of offering it.
Went to make a cup of tea, and when I came back the SNP had stolen my seat,

Doubt the next Labour leader will be Scottish.

Agree with part of that.Yes the Tories will have a small majority with a potential DUP back up, they want £1 billion more for Northern Ireland. Most commentators are liking this government to Majors “tail wag the dog” one of the 90’s.Every Tory leader is scared of being the prime minister who split the union and concessions on tax raising could lead to that.My humble opinion.

Hence my point about them using the Barnett Formula against us.
Once in a lifetime power grab opportunity for the tories. They’ll grab it with both hands.
The wrong Milliband got the job, said that years ago, that screwed the Labour party, not the referendum in Scotland.
Nationalists vote with their hearts not their heads, God knows where we would be now financially in Scotland had voted for independence, in the grubber for sure, see oil price amongst others.
As usual the election campaign run on scaremongering, vote Labour in England, get an SNP run UK Labour government was the cry from the Tories, seems to have worked out pretty well for them. So now we have the Tories, smug gits, running the country for the next five years pretty much unencumbered.
They will have the EU referendum, which they will win, to stay in Europe, maybe under a slightly renegotiated platform, middle and southern England will ensure that victory for them due to populous regardless.
The SNP can and will shout about whatever they like but will have no power in Westminster, they already have and have had for a while, tax raising powers in Scotland, control of the NHS and other major institutions and have done pretty much nothing with those powers. I would be happy to pay 1p extra in tax if it went to help the poor and underprivileged in Scotland, we also don’t need a never-ending council tax freeze, its fiscally stupid.
Anything the Tories offer Scotland will be to undermine the SNP you can be sure, poisoned chalices for all.
I fear for the poor, the underprivileged and those who rely on benefits, that unfunded, unexplained 12 billion in cuts the Tories have promised will hit them the hardest, not their millionaire friends.
God help us all, oot……………
Away to plan my diary for next few years
UC coming to a city near you in June
I think I will need to organise more food bank vouchers just to start off
People will wait at least 6 weeks for an initial payment of UC
By for now
Well I can’t bring myself to say Good Morning. Sorry.
Very bad morning, imo, for Scotland and, indeed, for Britain. Cameron running things on his own or, even worse, with the support of the DUP, makes me sick. Austerity will be the order of the day. Food banks will multiply.
At least Celtic are going from strength to strength.
