Ronny’s fuel for next four months

1674

There would have been no surprise reading Ronny Deila’s ‘heaven and hell’ season in the Celtic View.  It must have been an enthralling season for the manager but, good grief, it started with an 8.6 on the Strachan Early Season Scale.

These experiences mark us.  We’ve watched footballers and managers grow weary (another word for lazy) in the past, as their early groundwork waned during good times, but memories like Legia or Maribor will inform every decision Ronny Deila makes for the next four months.  He needs to use that ‘Never again’ month as fuel right now.

Did you sign the petition yesterday to demand the Scottish Government repeal their ill-conceived nonsense of a law which the entire country outside of Holyrood, and a few elites at Police Scotland, know is an abomination?  If not, here’s your chance.

Watching David Cameron giving a speech to the Tory fateful.Get me a big saw and I’ll try and split the country myself.

  2. Another great speaks the truth.

Speaking in this month’s issue of Four Four Two magazine, former Barcelona star Deco has admitted that Celtic fans are the best in the world.

Deco, now 37, has retired from professional football but had an illustrious career, which was kick started by Jose Mourinho at Porto.

The Brazilian-born Portugal international was a key player under Mourinho, helping Porto win the 2004 Champions League trophy against all the odds.

Whilst Deco went on to become a hero at Barcelona and finished his career with Chelsea and then Fluminense, he has recalled one striking moment of his time in football.

One year before winning the Champions League, Porto secured the UEFA Cup trophy with a dramatic 3-2 win over Celtic in extra time.

A topsy-turvy clash in Seville ended with Mourinho and his Porto side winning the UEFA Cup, with Deco playing a key role as the chief playmaker of the team.

Now, speaking to Four Four Two, Deco says that the UEFA Cup Final showed him that Celtic have the best fans in the world after an incredible night in Seville.

“Celtic fans are the best in the world,” said Deco. “There were 2,000 of them outside the 2003 UEFA Cup Final in Seville without tickets, while inside the atmosphere was incredible. That was one of the best finals I ever played in,” he added.

This is a sentiment echoed by his former Barcelona team-mate Lionel Messi, who recently told the Celtic official website that the Bhoys have the best atmosphere in Europe – and hopefully, Celtic will be returning to the Champions League group stage next season.

Agree with part of that.Yes the Tories will have a small majority with a potential DUP back up, they want £1 billion more for Northern Ireland. Most commentators are liking this government to Majors “tail wag the dog” one of the 90′s.Every Tory leader is scared of being the prime minister who split the union and concessions on tax raising could lead to that.My humble opinion.

I think you’re right mate – they will need to do deals with such a small majority. The DUP will be easier for them to bribe.

No !!!!!!!!!!.Anybody think you sound like a bitter loser?.

  6. Targeting the mythical middle ground hasn’t worked for Labour. But it could have been even worse for them – they could have won the election and then gone ahead with their new Tory programme, thereby committing suicide and imploding at the next election.

(I realise of course that it’s not wise to make predictions about political parties imploding.)

What the hurting Labour supporters on this blog fail to acknowledge is that even if the Labour Party had retained all its seats in Scotland the result would have still been the same – victory for David Cameron and the Tories. Time for Labour to elect a credible leader – perhaps a woman.

The SNP landslide makes any forthcoming referendum on Europe very interesting, especially if the English vote to leave Europe and the Scots vote to remain in Europe. That would in effect cause a major problem to the Union.

Ps, delighted that Odd Balls lost his seat but I would have preferred it not to have been to a Tory.

  18. Bluegrasscelt from earlier – the SNP could have raised taxes to redistribute wealth and help eradicate foodbanks. They had the power but didnt use it. They were too busy trying to bribe us by freeezing council taxes.

    Labour were not in power.

What has happenned has happenned. We will all reap what has been sown.

God Bless wee Oscar, he bravery knew no bounds. Oscar RIP.

  20. I have a UKIP candidate in my constituency but can’t for the life of me figure out why they would stand after Farage spending months talking about cutting the amount of “English tax” that goes “over the wall to Scotland”?

  21. foghorn leghorn

Not selective at all, I don’t like any politicians, they are pretty much all liars and charlatans, but particularly I loathe the Tories and the SNP.

They all scaremonger but the Tories have done it better than everyone else and have now an improved mandate to continue austerity (already stated by Osborne) and will make the cuts that will hit the poorest hardest.

That is the outcome of this election and we will all have to live with it, food banks will increase as a consequence. I am lucky enough to be able to contribute something to the food banks so I wont suffer much but I know plenty who will.

The Tories have won a mandate to cut up to 12 billion which so far, they have not explained how it will be done, they don’t know, they said as much in the lead up to yesterday. You can be damn sure they will target the poor, its I their DNA.

  22. Anyway work to be done definitely oot this time…………

Labour had the opportunity to reform the electoral system when they were in power for 13 years and did feck all about it because it suited them then.

It would be a bit hypocritical to complain about the first past the post system now.
