Beaten by a better team, with better players who have invested and have ambition and momentum. They worked so so hard without the ball, it was impressive.
Dembele is a huge miss for us at this level. Too many players below the required level, the very reason why we needed to invest. Tormented down the right as usual at this level. Passive in midfield and non existent up front. Could praise some individuals and criticise others but we win and lose as a team.
Thankfully they stepped off the gas at 3-1. Big game at the weekend now.

tombhoy – lustig is finished, He has cost us som many important goals this season. Gamboa is not great but surely better than Lustig and has actually played very well when he has been picked.

Once they equalised there was only going to be one result,have to say
despite our deficiencies they look a top class side.
Doing a bit of straw clutching,we have them at home in the last game
and they should have qualified by then and if were still in the hunt you
never know.
FYI there are only 2 players in the RB Salzberg team valued at over £10. mill the rest, are on a par with our squad. Makes you wonder a wee bit don’t it??
Celtîc away from home in Europe has been a source of pain pretty much my whole life. Must have just about the worst away record of any major club in Europe. Over decades.

Indeed. We have too many hapless individuals in our team incapable of performing at this level. They are great within the confines of the SPL, but unfortunately hapless gets found out at this level.
Alas we have just given 2 of them long term contracts and another was signed only in January. No doubt a long term contract for McGregor is in the offing.
Hats off to Malumbu. No idea why he was at Kilmarnock and then unable to find a club thereafter. It’s amazing where a bit of heart and self belief can take you.

Could have been so different. Mentioned at HT it would be difficult to maintain comcentration levels, and so it proved.
Too early to be very subjective, but first impressions are that RBS are a good side who could go a long way in this competition, and our defense on right is as weak as we all know it to be.
Midfield didn’t cope well with pressing game of Salzburg, and forwards aren’t prepared to work hard enough. Disappointing after going in 1 up at half time.

Very slick,skilled team.No disgrace tonight,but a few bad performances.Eddy,Griff,Mik,thebpoorest,but Calmac,Ntcham struggled to keep up with their midfield.Very good team.CL quality.
Anyway,more important game on Sunday.
