  1. Watching Mik at that 1st goal on the highlights,it gets worse.Hands at his side, and turnsbsidewaysto allow the cross.Shocking.

  2. Joe Filippis Haircut on

Sorry Bhoys but Brendan is a limited manager in the gold fish bowl of Scottish football where we are the big fish he has done well. However,in Europe our results under Brendan have been absolutely pathetic I was never a Lennie lover but under him we were a more compact harder team to beat in Europe. We can try to mask it in any way you like but you cannot hide the fact that in europe we are shocking and the manager must carry the can. H.H.

  3. How come everyone else can see it but our management team can’t? Our Achilles heal is our right flank every game and has been for several seasons. I’ve said it before I love Mik Lustig but he is done at this level.

Everyone of their players looked comfortable on the ball whereas ours appeared to be playing with a ball for the first time. I don’t think it was a penalty and never a red card.

I’d like to see our offside goal again because I thought their player knocked it into the net? Happened very quickly.

  4. We have three right backs, about ten midfielders and two strikers both of whom played tonight, I do not think we are in good shape at all and i am saying no more tonight , this is a recurring nightmare which has been brewing.

What the hell does Brendan see in Sinclair?

    ==

A change from Griff who did the sum total of hee haw. Feck me I could have lead the line better than he did tonight. Great SPFL striker (but then again so was Fatty boy Boyd) but the game tonight was so far above Griffs level. Putting Scotty on was a the equivalent of a ‘hail Mary’ throw from Brendan.

  6. It’s the hope that kills you.

We were 5 to1 against for a win and the bookies got it right.

No lack of bravery from the bhoys but there was even more bravery and energy from the Salzburg mob. Our best bet for a result came and went with Callum’s chance to equalise and make it 2:2.

Biggest regret is the avoidability of the goals. Lustig has to be closer to the crosser who sclaffed his ball. James stopped fouling their player outside the box but, in the spirit of the game, a pen was justified.

With Leipzig getting up and running in Norway, we will struggle now. Our best bet is to catch Leipzig cold in Germany and hang on better than we did tonight.

Not a lot to do with coaching tonight (their coach is just in the door) but a lot to do with the respective quality of the players. I thought Schlager was very good for them.

Well, you have to say we were beaten by a better team, but to lose so comprehensively after being ahead is really disappointing.

Seemed to lose our shape in the second half. Couldn’t even tell you what the formation was supposed to be. Were really compact in the first half and offered a threat on the counter. Offered nothing going forward second half.

Defending really shoddy. Hendry has to up his game for this level. Anticipation is a defender’s main tool.

  8. there is nothing for us to learn we wont get the players we need always no money heated driveways and fancy lights is more important europe is just a long lost fantasy scottish football is in the bin now

  9. Forget Europe, fed up posting this, we will NEVER NEVER EVER do anything again in Europe. It has BREXITED us.?. The league is EVERYTHING.

We will also struggle in the new 3rd tier thing they’re talking about.

  10. On the plus side Forrest misses the next game…………….

Sinclair for Forrest = the square root of f all.

Arzani or Morgan to start on Sunday?

    One of them better!

FFS they can’t be any worse than the duds who are playing shite every week.

Sort it Brendan or your slow boat is booked!

  11. its not the players fault they are not good enough but i would say they do try like i said scottish football is dire

  12. We’re an utter embarrassment in Europe. It’s hardly worth our while turning up. I wonder if there’s another club with 60,000 fans and £100,000,000 in turnover who are so abject away from home.

Conceding 3 goals is practically our default position.

  13. It has been said that the Europa League is our level. UEFA have plans for a third tournament one rung below the Europa League. I fear THIS may be our level….

  14. We all have our opinions. I thought Lustig was fine. He tried to cut out the cross as best he could. Behind him, JH went to sleep (again) and lost his man. The only defender we have who is playing to form is Boyata. KT was awful again tonight and should be rested. Callum is also way overdue a rest.

Give Morgan and Christie a run with Rogic and Ntcham/Brown. Gamboa and Izzy at full back and bring our so called stars back when they are ready to play for Celtic again. Really missing a good target man who can hold on to the ball.

  15. That was ok away from home against a very decent europa league team.

Some positives, a good defensive display until their first goal and signs of the team learning to play a bit ugly

You could see the energy levels had dropped just before their first goal, all the chasing caught up with us. They were too quick and slick for us, moved the ball forward very quickly, Mulumbu did a great job

I didn’t see any really obvious mistakes in their goals, Jamesie for the third, probably.

Boyata and Hendry did very well, I must be in a minority of one who thought Lustig did ok

  16. Agree with other posters that competing successfully in Europe is now a pipe dream.

    Where is Compper, Arzani?

What is the extent of Benkovic’s injury?

Is Bitton out for the season?

Why play Ntcham who wants to play elsewhere?

    Has Brendan’s horse bolted?

    Does he give a monkeys?

    Pissed off so I am.

  17. No surprise tonight…Brendan clueless in Europe I dont care who they are or what their home record is like, To concede 3 goals in one half and call yourself a European diddy league team ???? Oh dear wheres Ronny ???? and Brendan beginning to bring that form into domestic game….. Sorry his time is almost up.

  18. Canamalar it looks like OCD obsession on

Our level has only one limit, the ambition of the Plc executive management who set the constraints. Salzburg team costs less to buy and less to maintain.

  19. Boyata had a good game tonight. He is, undoubtedly, for the offski in Jan for paltry 3-4 mill I bet

  20. Delaneys Dunky on

We were beaten by a team who were miles better than us tonight. Why are a team with similar resources to us, so far ahead of us on the pitch?

    YNWA

  21. Just shows the level of our expectation when some are worried that Boyata might be sold…. People queing up to drive him a matter of weeks ago

  22. MNCELT

What did you think of MULUMBA’S performance tonight?

Is he worth a start against the European power house known as St Johnstone?

  23. SFTB, gotta say with respect, you are anzahl eins happy clapper on cqn, the coach picks the team the coach gives instructions to the players, so why has it got nothing to do with the coach.hh.

  24. Philbhoy – Yes, Mulumba put in a good shift. I’d give him a season of cameo appearances until he settles in. He’s not ready to displace Brown/Ntcham yet. Having said that, I feel he is not going to let us down

The only worry I have about ‘ The Belgian’ leaving is the quality of his replacement – if there is to be one! Will it be another Hendry – ( the boy tries but is hopelessly out of his depth at Celtic) or another injury prone / lots of potential loanee? Chances are if we receive 4 mill for DB we will only spend 1.5 on a replacement. That’s the way the board rolls don’t ya know.
