Scott Brown extends influence on until 2021

88

The worst kept secret at Celtic Park last night was that captain Scott Brown would sign a new contract that will keep him at the club until 2021 – potentially ‘Here for 10-in-a-row’.  Scott is already one of the most successful Celtic players of all time.  He became the third captain to lead the team to the treble and the first Scottish club captain to retain a treble.

His contribution going forward will be less than that which has already past, but his influence on discipline among the squad, at and beyond training, should not be underestimated.  He is a leader and a winner, and will ensure standards do not slip.

I know the day is getting on, but work is still going on.

Phew Dieu Merci. Immagined you had been hacked. i was scared to read on, thought you were on mission to spend your last dime.

  3. I think most of us will remember Big Peter’s quote along the lines of “we try to come out of each transfer window stronger than we went into it”.

With 5 hours till to go here are all of January’s ins and outs (well I think this is all of them) –

INS – Weah (loan), Burke (loan), Bayo (£2M(e), 4 year deal), Shved (£2M(e), 4½ year deal – with us after the end of April)

OUTS – Morgan (loan to Sunderland)

Whilst the transfers all involve the top end of the pitch it’d be hard to argue that we haven’t strengthened during the January window.

  5. Welcome tae Glesga Maryan. A stroll soon Sauchiehall Street of an average Saturday night will be an eye opener, after being used to all those sleek Ukrainian nightclub beauties :-)

  6. Looking for a bit of help…

A week or so ago ( maybe longer ) someone posted a link to a charity skydive for a bereavement room for the royal hospital for sick children , would be grateful for any pointers to the appeal…

    Thanks in advance .

  7. Happy with the transfer window. A CB would have been nice, but hey ho.

The RB loaner/Mika to play till young Tony is up and running, then bench both of them, and give Tony all the game time, in order to make the position his own to bed him in for the CL qualifiers.

  8. With the Dortmund full back having played no football, how long before we see him starting?

Surely Bayo must be close to at least a place on the bench.

Having said that, fairly contented now that we have strengthened the right back position, hopefully injuries will clear which should leave us with a strong squad to get the league won.

Glad to see big Eddie back last night, im a fan.

  9. MAH: Breithlá sona duit. Hope you are keeping as well as can be expected.
