Scottish Government, SFA and SPFL will find evidence to start playing in Aug

200

We live in a political world.  With most of Europe either already playing football, training or with dates set to resume, the Scottish Government will fall in line and grant football a return on 1 August.  They will be able to cite supporting medical evidence, but, more importantly, there is no appetite to plough a lone furrow on this issue.

Covid testing kits and processes are more readily available now than a month ago, this situation will hopefully significantly improve before contact training resumes several weeks from now.  Premiership clubs must and will find the money to test, train and play games.

While Peter Lawwell has been invited to the videoconference, it has been made clear to representatives from the Scottish Government, the SFA and the SFPL that the technology does not allow him to sign autographs.

Ann Budge relentless drive to win friends and influence people continues unabated.  Jim McInally, now manager at Peterhead, said of her reconstruction plan, “It’s just not true that no club has been disadvantaged. It just shows a total disregard for other clubs.”

In a statement that verges on presidential (US presidential, that is), Budge told Sky Sports News, “My understanding, although I could be wrong, is if the situation was deemed to be sufficient of an emergency, that the board can choose to implement a change. That’s what I have been told, but it’s hearsay, I’ve not read the rules to that level of detail.”

She’s not read the rules, it “could be hearsay” and she could be wrong.  It is unfathomable how Hearts have performed so poorly under her stewardship.  Still, at least she’s charming Hearts future opponents.

  1. Gooooooood morning CQN from an absoloutley scorching Garngad 🌞🌞🌞

Good luck to Johnny Hays he was a trier, worked hard and played with his heart on his sleeve.

🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆 In A Row – Big G enjoy the moment sir, Celtic would have loved to play out games but it was not to be. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, I personally think it was the right decision about the only right decision the SPFL and SFA have ever made.

Sad to hear of Johnny Hayes’ departure. Although never a world beater, his honesty and effort could not be faulted at any time. The definition of a 100% player.

  4. Morning all

Another beautiful day in Costa del Dundee.

Sorry to see Jonny Hayes leave if he does, as he is a good honest professional who has done a job for us and never lets the team down. Thought another year as a utility player would suit both parties, but can understand if he wants playing time.

  5. What I don’t understand is why no one questions why this site is so difficult to navigate.

  6. Left side of the team looking a bit bare – Miller gone, Hayes gone, Moi might not be back, Boli and Taylor you couldn’t make a decent LB between the 2 of them……Mikey back but after a bad injury.

    mmmmmm….

As a member from the very early days on here, I stopped posting a few years ago as it was too much hard work. I even stopped lurking daily for a while and only back around 12/18 months to full time lurking. All this due to serious navagation troubles and a feeling of “feck this”. A month or so ago, someone on here

recommended Duckduckgo as search engine and it worked for a few weeks but then the ads became almost unbearable again. I recently updated my laptop to a new HP ( my old LT was around 3/4 years old and was at the lower range of the market. As I said last night, I downloaded Chrome and made it my default. I then downloaded Ad Blocker. The one with the red stop sign and ABP in whiten letters. I then disabled JavaScript for this site ( cant remember how I done it but found instructions on Google ). Now, I fly straight to site, no adverts whatsoever and easy scrolling and refresh.

It is very apparent that due to these problems, site traffic and posting is well down in recent times.

Paul, you really need to take note

Would be interesting to hear the government’s view on clubs using their scheme to pay 80% staff wages while spending £3m on new players. Irrespective of payment terms😱

  10. Prestonpans

The furlough scheme is ripe for abuse as is the deferment of vat and other taxes.

  11. I doubt that the Hun have paid much if anything up front for their new wonderkid.

  12. With Hickey in the mix that’s 3 players combined that couldn;t make 1 decent left back…

Go spend the bloody money Celtic instead of accumulating punts & cheap shots…

  19. Sorry,Big Wavy, cant agree with you on Greg Taylor.I personally thought he had a terrific time when he played.

First season, will only get better. The game at Perth in the mud heap that night, showed us all what sort of player is in there.?

  20. Perhaps it is my Inverclyde bias and the fact that Greg Taylor is known to members of my family, but not me, but I cannot understand those who have written him off. He had little game time and needs more time to develop into a Celtic player.

Brings me back to that day at Easter Road when the King miss hit the ball and it lead to a goal for the Hibees. Thought then he was no use. But then what do I know about football after all I was only raised with the Lions and the Quality Street Gang. But I admit I was wrong about the King.

Hello again all you young rebels.

it’s fair to say we’ve all been wrong about various Celtic players in our

time, mine was big Paul Elliot on his first game pre-season on a tour in

Germany when i told all and sundry he looked like Bambi on ice.

    How wrong was i ?

And back in the sixties some of the lions took terrible stick before big Jock

    came.

So think i’ll give young Greg some time before i mump my gums lol.

I hope big Craig can come back to CP,for a thank you and a proper ovation, a top player, one of the best ever Bosman/free transfers ever.

Craig Gordon, also out of contract tomorrow

    Replace with big Fraser

    ————–

I’d imagine his plan was to finish his career at Hearts, but I’d be surprised if he thought it would be the 2nd division.

Would be good backup to Faz for another year, or if we can’t get Faz i’d be happy for him to stay as number 1.

  26. !!Bada Bing!! on

Talk of St Mirren keeper moving on,Gordon would want to stay in top league.
