With John Guidetti ineligible, Anthony Stokes is manager Ronny Deila’s first choice striker for Europa League action. Anthony arrived at Glasgow Airport this morning but was sent home ill. He was a certain starter, so whatever plans the manager made, a rethink is in order.
Stefan Scepovic made his goal-scoring breakthrough against Astra last month, and followed up with a goal next time out against Kilmarnock, but he was benched for Partick and Inverness Thistle. Despite being third on the roster he’s likely to be the solitary striker role tomorrow evening.
This is a big game in Stefan’s Celtic career. A European ground with an 8500 capacity presents a different pressure, and expectation, than Celtic Park. Can he rise to the challenge? Wakaso stepped forward in Salzburg and Callum McGregor did the same in Reykjavik, Warsaw and Maribor. Both benefited enormously as a result. I could make a case that Stefan needs this game; the script’s written……
Many thanks to everyone who bought the DVDs from CQNBookstore since yesterday, that’s’ the deal finished. Will try to pull another together at some point.

The Rotunda restaurant attached to the Hotel Convento la Luna in Amalfi is probably the iconic spot for a celebration meal.
Take 2 credit cards though.
No word from twisty but I see Mr Maynard running today 12.50 at Fakenham..
Sitting at 4/1 on skybet.
My only prediction for tonight is for tonev to open his account :)

Amazing part of the world.
Also, you can get a ferry to Naples from Sorrento and visit Pozzuoli. Apart from being a mini-Yellowstone Park (bubbling volcanic mud, geysers – it was thought to be the gateway to Hades in ancient times) it is also the birthplace of Sophia Loren.
I think tonight could be a good time to play Adam Matthews on the right wing instead of McGregor. Remember his performance in the San Siro – he was excellent in that position. He can get us up the park quickly and also provide better cover for lustig.
Maybe he isn’t as much of a goal threat as McGregor (and given that Commons and Stokes won’t be playing we might be short on attacking threat) but I think the team would be more solid with AM in right mid/wing.
Maybe not though…

Playing Astra reminds me of when Celtic played Timosoara…
Game played against a backdrop of a Romanian version of Yellow Submarine being boomed out on a loop over the tannoy for 90 minutes ..whilst a dinger of a Ref contrived to give Timosoara a 1-0 win.
OFOG’s take on this appalling “Celtic – Rangers” nonsense.

Jamesgang,
Sounds like you caught a cold yesterday pal. Try tunes ;)
Hoops to win 3-2 tonight and Leigh G to score at some point.
Tunes
The epitome of why the 70s were crap.
Boiled sweeties that tasted crap purporting to be medicine.
And a guy struggling to buy a ticket for a train that would run late in its attempt to reach a station that dr beaching had closed in the 50s.
Life started to get better when ska, enormous shoulder pads and my introduction to cider heralded the start of the 80s!
Oh the days/daze!
Laters!

Leigh G to score at some point this season? Now THAT is hedging your bets…
Tough game tonight.
Astra looked good and quick when in possession as we backed off them, particularly when they went 2 down.
Win the midfield, win the game.
C’MON THE CELTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2/0 tonight lads, the number 5 isn’t as good as he thinks he is in the Astra defence, definite weak link, strolls out the defence like the kaiser.
This made me laugh…

“Life started getting better when Ska ”
Indeed -I pitched up at Uni in 68 with a shoebox full of Ska and Rocksteady 45s .. Went down badly in a student residential complex where the epitome of cool was Pink Floyd and a Saucerful of Secrets . I was mocked mercilessly for listening to ” primitive music” . Strangely the jibes stopped when the progressive guys clocked that ” the chicks ” were gravitating to my room and the sound of Top Deck / WIRL / Blue Beat/ Studio One / Trojan etc. Great times !
I met a HUN I know at the shops this morning he shouts hey Donnelly wut do yi think of the draw in the semis? Ach! I said I’d rather have got one of the other two bigger teams, but this wee new club I have to hand it to them have done well, but I doubt if they will be even close to us by half time, he sais….muscles in his neck bulging, ach your no still banging on about the NEWCO ur yi? I said I’m not banging on about it you asked me what a thought an am telling yi, …..were the same club don’t talk daft, prove ti me wur no?….I said this may need your full attention here and no interruption until I’m finished….aye righ go on, SAIS he……..so I told him about a friend of mine who was a tim and worked at the old Rangers accountants office, he was a great friend of my two brothers and myself, and on my older brothers 50 th birthday he bought him one share in RFC, I got one when I turned 50, as did my younger brother, this big guy my friend used to laugh around Christmas when they where sending out the Christmas cards and team calendar and a Christmas letter from the chairman and the team manager who ever that was at the time, the reason of the funny bit was both my older brother and I lived in Canada, and it must have cost them plenty every year to send it, all for a £1 share, lol, any way, back to the guy at the shops this morning, I told him I had a share, and also about what happened evey Christmas on how I looked forward to my Callander and the rest from RFC and that two year ago, they stoped coming through the post, I told him I made a call after the first failure of my Callander to Ibrox , to find out what had happened, and then I said to him ( the HUN at the shops) guess what they said to me…….he said awe f..k off and walked away…..I shouted to him haw mere you’ve no heard the best bit….he kept on walking……it was a horrible wet cold morning before I met that HUN, oh how my day turned around, has ti be an omen, result tonight…..by the way the story on the share wi me an my bros. Is true. Ask Masty.
