SFA prepare to suspend Rangers

634

Scottish FA chief executive, Stewart Regan, this evening announced that the Association would not appeal against the Court of Session decision to rule in Rangers favour over the 12 month player registration ban imposed by a Judicial Panel for not paying social taxes between May 2011 and February 2012.  Rangers didn’t pay social taxes in the period since February 2012, the period during which they launched their appeal.

I hear Rangers today served the ruling on the SFA and that the SFA have responded by informing the club that, under Fifa auspices, fresh proceedings will be raised against them for taking a civil court action, which will lead to a minimum punishment of Rangers being suspended from the Association.

The initial case will be referred back to the SFA Appellate Tribunal.  Regan reminded us that Rangers appeal to the civil courts broke two SFA Articles and five Fifa statues.  The tone and content of his statement demonstrated the frustration at the behaviour of the errant club.  He suggested the SFA would tell clubs [Rangers] that they must accept and abide by the Articles of Association at next week’s AGM.

While it appears the Association is about to get tough, they are in the middle of a problem of the making of the SFA and, in particular, Mr Doncaster of the SPL.  Here is the problem…

Rangers believe they are needed.  This belief is absolute and has been reinforced by the people running our game, the very same people who have been rag-dolled by Rangers in recent weeks.

The SPL waited almost three months for Rangers to respond to their demand for information into what is allegedly the biggest scam in British sporting history.  Despite this, throughout that time, the SPL chief executive campaigned vigorously for a Newco-Rangers to become the first club in Scottish football history to be parachuted into the top league.

It took the SPL 11 weeks to set a deadline.  No wonder Clark, Whitehouse and Green think they can play hardball.

During this time the SFA, who are the only body competent to investigate if Rangers illegally registered players across all domestic competitions, have taken no action.  The SFA president, who was an executive director of Rangers when they introduced the controversial EBTs and who received and EBT himself, has remained in position throughout.

Time for strong leadership, Mr Regan.  Mr Doncaster, there’s always a career in the law.

  1. Auldheid. Morning from a chilly morning here in south Sydney

It was good to hear your voice on the radio

    FIFA rulings are quite clear

Ignore all civil court rulings or risk all Scottish clubs being turfed out of Europe

The SFA have agreed with the Civil court and are taking it back to the appeal panel , as told to do so by the civil court

This is a clear breach of FIFA rules

And the Scotland team and all Scottish clubs can now be thrown out of Europe

The clubs involved should be telling SFA to abide by FIFA rules as this breach by the SFA will cost the clubs financially

While I don’t think Celtic should say anything publicly

They should be at hampden park on Friday making our position clear and reminding SFA to do there job

  2. I understand the reticence from some people but this is out of the hands of the masons.

FIFA operate a global cartel. The success of which hinges upon their ability to keep the law out of their little racket.

The SFA govern Scottish Football on behalf of FIFA. The only time FIFA would be interested in anything that goes on in our wee backwater is if something happens to threaten their stranglehold.

That is precisely what has happened.

The SFA can’t stop this even if they wanted to, Rangers have brought this upon themselves with their entitlement driven folly.

There is only one thing the blazers love more than The Rangers and that is their lovely little FIFA and UEFA funded gravy train.

    Rangers are toast

  3. Can somebody enlighten me on the following please.

    If Suspended from Spl !

Does this suspension render the current CVA process (not that I believe it had much chance of succeeding for them anyway) USELESS – in other words, wasn’t one of the CVA’s many stipulations, only workable under the premise that Scotland’s Shame were competing in all competitions?

Forgive me Father CQN, Rfc(IA), the story that keeps on giving and giving, it all gets a little confusing for this Bhoy.

  4. The article is SO positive of the outcome that I truly, madly, deeply want it to come to pass but while C.O. still heads up the sfa I fear that The Grand Imperial Wizard (or whatever grandiose titles these muppets give themselves) will have his way on behalf of The Masons, who seem to be running Scotland right now,and Satan F.C. seem to be very very aware of that.

How else could what is happening be happening? It’s not merely incompetence, happenstance, coincidence or chance that gross financial doping, financial shenanigans of every other kind, and violations of all sorts are occurring with impunity to the benefit of one club and one club only.

Scotland’s Shame. Scotland’s Disgrace. Scotland’s Scandal. The Biggest Sporting Scandal in History. None of this matters one iota to RFCia,for they arra peepil. And we just have to take it,again and again and again ad infinitum…

That is how I perceive it,so Paul67,I earnestly hope and pray you are correct in your analysis. And I am wrong. I’d be happy if that turns out to be so.

  5. Heard Paul Baxendale Walker is making a porno based on the Ibrox scandal…its called “The Stained Sash”.

  6. SydneyTim – The SFA haven’t broken the rules, the breach was made by Rangers. Had they appealed to the CoS the SFA would have broken the rules.

The SFA have to abide or be held in contempt of court.

All FIFA are interested in now is having the breach of the rules dealt with correctly, and with sufficient force, as to be a deterrent to it happening again.

  7. Sydney Tim

The SFA did not initiate a Civil Court action, Rangers FC did. The SFA did however set up the initial Independent Judicial Panel. This panel applied the principle of Scots Law. Would not be judicial otherwise. Rangers FC exhausted this process, and then, in breach of the SFA rules of association took the case to Scotland’s highest Civil Court. The original findings still stand, one sanction questioned. The position of Rangers FC is that they do not recognise the rules of the Association of which they are a member. As such they have opened themselves to further sanctions. Only suspension or expulsion should apply now.

  9. miki67 – How much sway does the grand Wizard of Scotland have over the FIFA Executive Committee? Or even how much sway does the SFA hold over FIFA?Enough to allow them to have their cartel ripped apart via civil courts?

    We are nothing. Nobody.

Have you not noticed recently UEFA and FIFA getting tough with the minor nations? Swiss, Greeks, Turks all having teams expelled and suspended.

Their star is on the wain and they know it. They don’t have the clout to challenge the big boys anymore so are doing the last acts of the aging bully and picking on the weak.

    We are weak.

We are next for a doing by Blatter and Co

  10. ‘SFA prepare to suspend Rangers’ says guess who?

Paul Brennan of Celtic Quick News and Lawwell’s puppet says so.

Do you think this has been fed to him?

They would not dare, if so, Scottish Football is fecked.

what rips ma knitting most about this sorry tale is the lack of remorse from the great unwashed. The story still goes that it is all down to a MBB who appeared last year and wrecked this institution.

They have been cheating for over a decade.

All you hear on supporter forums is how they need to rise up, how everyone is against them, how no one likes them (turns out that despite their song they do care) and how blood will spill on the streets, how can they do this to us.

Nobody in their camp has said, you know what, we have been cheating for years, we have won games, leagues and trophies with players we could not afford, we havent paid creditors, we havent paid tax, we have dubious accountacy practices, we have played hard and loose with the rules, we deserve punishment.

so far they have had the mandatory 10 points and only other punishment is 160k fine they cannot/will not pay. Yet they are incandescent with rage and how they are being picked on, with the usual sense of entitlement that only a rangers fan can manage.

scotlands shame? more like no shame. Up til now I wanted them punished but still there so we could lord it over them.

Now? maybe they should just eff off and die. quietly.

    Could the club survive?

Could we become the Football version of the Harlem Globetrotters and tour the world for a year playing friendlies in order to raise income? After all no matter which corner of the world we were to play in we’d still bring in a decent support, so could survive.

Then this time next year we come back and get back into the SPL..

  23. Auldheid

    Disagree

Reason for the FIFA rule is to stop clubs appealing against a rulling

If FIFA allow this to go back to the appeal panel, then every red card that fails in its appeal to a national association, will go to court to ask if they can appeal again

    The whole game Lost

    Celtic Mac

Agree. No appeal. Suspension straight away, if it goes to appeal , it’s a clear breach of FIFA rules by the SFA

  26. If it goes back to appeal and FIFA don’t punIsh SFA, then Celtic can go to court to ask for Neil’s touch line ban to be appealed again

The whole of FIFA will become a farce

Hence their strict rules over it

IF SFA allow the appeal to go ahead they are In breach of FIFA rules
