Shaping midfield, Tomoki’s run of starts

228

Shaping the midfield for the game before the game is the challenge for Brendan Rodgers on Sunday.  Callum McGregor and Reo Hatate are both likely to be available to him for the trip to the Plastic Pasta Stadium and both would benefit from gametime, although putting them in together would be too much of a risk.

Callum is uber-fit and I have no concerns about him coming in from the cold to a high-pressure environment.  Reo is the man I would concentrate on.  Start him alongside Matt O’Riley with Tomoki Iwata in the holding role.

This would be Tomoki’s sixth successive start.  For a player who (in the main) deputises for the captain, that is more than he would have expected at the start of the season.  It is also enough for you and me to make a proper assessment of the player.

Will be a 1 game ban, suspended for 12 months, but we need to make this about the bigger issue, and tell them we don’t want Beaton doing any of our games,in any capacity

Wow !!BADA BING!! do you also have the lotto numbers for the weekend?

  2. that was a palaver to get logged in.

wrt the UEFA payouts next season.

i recently took an afternoon to work out what i thought it could be . i will try find it, but from recall, at best i gave us a chance of making 45m euros revenue if we were a sole participant in the champions league.

things that people are not considering , overall prize money goes up circa 23% not the 305 floated previously.

money is shared by 36 teams not 32.

proze money for football performance goes down, a win is some 700k euros less.

the rankins system for payout shares of tv money as celtic mac says we will be lucky to be ranked 30th.

worser case, the huns qualify and we share the scotland pool.

worser still, what is our extra home game is against a poorer team,

as fanciful as it sounds, could we be reaching a point of a cl game not selling out.

and even them the pessimist in me safs, our two extra games could be just more defeats. 24 points to compete for, we will be lucky to get 6.

    ochone, ochone,

so it is not all its cracked up to be.

just win the league anyways celtic.

  3. In effect Brendan gets a ONE Game ban.

I would suggest a bit of a ” COP OUT” by the SFA, in order to somehow ” Save Face” ?

    ……………

Ahem… MACPHAIL BHOY….Below is what I posted EARLIER this morning on the PREVIOUS THREAD, which was some time BEFORE BADA BINGS Post….and ” NO ” I don’t have the lottery numbers either !

    LOL

It is being ” suggested” that Brendan will be found GUILTY of some Rule Book, and be hit with a ” 2 Game” Touchline Ban.

However, the SFA MAY look for a way out of this by Banning Brendan from the Dug Out for the upcoming Livingstone game as the first part of the Ban…..BUT the ” Second Game” Ban be ” SUSPENDED”, which would allow Brendan to be on the Touchline at Ibrox next week ?

  5. The cheating by beaton doesn’t matter to them , what matters is truthfully saying they are incompetent …

Cheating is allowed ( for some , but not us )

The truth ,not so much ….they can’t handle the truth …

  6. What about the audio evidence? I really hope Celtic have told the SFA that no Beaton for any games involving the top 2, because he is the issue . Get a UEFA supervisor over as a guest for the Ibrox game minimum, you don’t need to broadcast any of the above but you can make it known.

  7. Verdict is what was broadly expected, by finding him not guilty they admit incompetence, never going to happen.

Will be interested to hear what comments if any we get from our legal guy on what he faced, how it compares to English FA etc

  9. Tom McLaughlin on

Anyone expecting the SFA to publicly acknowledge cheating by any referee need to enter the real world.

Brendan did call the Tynecastle match officials incompetent so he was banged to rights.

Suspension of the second part of the 2-game ban is normal for a first offence.

  10. !!Bada Bing!! on

MCPHAIL BHOY- it’s also double speak for- they couldn’t guarantee his safety at Ibrox, as a few of the Bhoys have said, they will be happy to make this go away quietly,we will see what the Club says now.

You might not have the lotto numbers for the weekend but you must a ‘dead cert’ on 1 or 2 horses surely?

    Agreed

  13. Celtic did not”Win” this case.BR was hit with the minimum 2 game ban,1 suspended. No way we could have won it,BR did say the word. What will be interesting,is the next game Beaton takes charge off,or VAR,that we are involved in.If he is kept away from our games, that will be the win we wanted most.If not,we have won nothing.

I think the Governor of Maryland is going for an Oscar……or is there an election coming up…..

  15. well done liel abada for telling his truths about his time at celtic, so much for the driven out by supporters agenda pushed by the eejits.

  16. Considering what we have had to endure this season, winning this league, would be the sweetest for me in all my years.I mentioned the other night the jersey pull,a real one,in the England game, nothing given,VAR not interested. That scum across the City, have had at least 4 points gifted to them for much, much less.2 points at Pittodrie, and Hearts winning 1-0 at Ibrox, and a phantom tug ,penalty ,given to them in the last minute.9 mins then added on for them to get the winner.Penalties aside, that 4 or 5 points would have put us in a great position, not even counting the disgrace at Tynecastle.

Oh yes, this one would be soooo special.

  17. SS,

Kiel has never uttered a bad word about us.Unlike some eejits in our support. Some on here.

  18. Club statement on the website, in summary, disappointed by the outcome will continue to push for higher standards of VAR.

There was also an interesting call in the Wales v Poland game. A clear kick to the head and there was contact – yellow card.

  20. Seems to me that the SFA court is the only one in Scotland where you are either guilty or eh….. guilty.

    What was the point.

Following a hearing by the SFA disciplinary panel today (Thursday), Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has been issued with a two-match suspension. One match is immediate and will apply to this Sunday’s Premiership game against Livingston, while one match is suspended until the end of the 2023/24 season.

  25. i dont reaslly know what people think celtic can say about it in a statement.

as a member of the association you cannot criticise the outcome.

and then, what has it got to do with the 5 way agreement ?
