Shaping midfield, Tomoki’s run of starts

228

Shaping the midfield for the game before the game is the challenge for Brendan Rodgers on Sunday.  Callum McGregor and Reo Hatate are both likely to be available to him for the trip to the Plastic Pasta Stadium and both would benefit from gametime, although putting them in together would be too much of a risk.

Callum is uber-fit and I have no concerns about him coming in from the cold to a high-pressure environment.  Reo is the man I would concentrate on.  Start him alongside Matt O’Riley with Tomoki Iwata in the holding role.

This would be Tomoki’s sixth successive start.  For a player who (in the main) deputises for the captain, that is more than he would have expected at the start of the season.  It is also enough for you and me to make a proper assessment of the player.

Winger Liel Abada has moved to put a stop to criticism of the Celtic fans in the Israeli media as he jetted out to kickstart his Charlotte FC career.

Pressure intensified for the Israel international in his homeland with elements of the Celtic support flying flags and showing their support for Palestine. Israeli outlets put the blame on Celtic fans for the exit – with some going as far to claim that Abada had been subjected to verbal abuse in the street. However, the wide man has once again professed his love for the club.

Pressed on his time at Celtic, he responded: “It was really not easy being far away, but I had time with my family and friends now to see everyone. I had an amazing time at Celtic and now my head is on a new journey.

  5. ACSOM posted an hour long segment this afternoon with Alan Morrison looking at ‘anomalies’ over the course of the last few years.

    Well worth your time!

  8. Clunks and Tobago – thanks for the link.

I listen to ACSOM regularly but never usually watch it.

I always appreciate Alan Morrison’s work and commentary but apropos of nothing, I never pictured him looking like that, in my minds eye. (Maybe more college professor type or something)…

  9. Good morning all Tim’s around the globe. From a damp, grey 5 degree Garngad.

Tom Mc as Clunk’s says the audio would go a long way to show all clubs that their is no bias (no laughing at the back) a step in the right direction if you will.

On this occasion when 1 of our club was accused of something then you would think we should have been provided with said audio, unless of course we were and there was nothing untoward in it, but I do not think that would be the case. Beaton persuaded Robertson on 2 game changing decisions that were not obvious mistakes. I smell a rat.

Our custodians have a duty to look after the best interests of our club and I think they failed once more.

Anyhoo we move on no time to wallow we have a very tough game in 2 more sleeps, this game is way more important than the huns game.

    Let’s focus.

There is no statistical explanation for this pattern. No random deviation from the statistical norm, no possible explanation under the inalienable laws of probability.

There is only one possible explanation. Systemic institutional bias. The only matter of conjecture is how much of that bias is conscious or unconscious.

What will our club do with it? Is Crawford Allan the end or the beginning. If it’s the end and P67 is right – be afraid of who will replace him – our club is knowingly complicit in a game rigged for the huns. Hopefully Crawford Allan signals only the beginning and our club will have the mettle to use this overwhelming evidence to clear the lot of them out and bring in non-compromised outsiders to govern and referee the game on this country.

  16. Not one to take what’s app rumours too seriously but this one does seem to have some legs so I’ll post it without naming names.

Apparently a high profile unionist politician was last night charged with historical sex abuse and will appear in Court in Newry on the 24th April.

  17. I think the consensus on here is that if Celtic supporters were to go back to Ayebrokes it would have to be taking the full Broomloan Stand, some 7,500 of our fans. Celtic would replicate by making some 8,000 tickets available to our Glasgow rivals.

But no we have agreed to only 2,500 tickets at our away games and 3000 to away supporters at Celtic park.

I am of the The View that it should have been ‘All Or Nothing’ otherwise Nae Pasaran.

Our Board thinks otherwise. Colour me surprised.

Exactly, and why the Resolution for Improving refereeing standards is a means to bring about the culture change mentioned in the ACSOM video.

The resolution on Sentinel Celts with completion and delivery instructions

    https://sentinelcelts.com/2024/03/22/resolution-on-refereeing-standards/

requires the backing of 100 shareholders, who are beginning to respond, to be tabled for Celtic to consider and answer at or before the next AGM.

Hopefully after watching the ACSOM video and reading the Sentinel Celts led resolution any shareholders on CQN who have not already signed up will feel moved to do so.

  19. We have let down all our supporters who gladly took uo the slack when we binned the huns from Parkhead.

Thanks very much Celtic fans, your money was most welcome, but we don’t need you anymore. We’ve invited a nice crowd in your place who will look after our toilets and sing lovely ditties.

Put bluntly, we have sold our fans down the swanee.

    Disgraceful from Celtic.

  20. In reading a story that appeared on Celtic NewsNow, I was directed to the Rangers Review outlet as the story was about a nonentity called Dean Furman who signed for them and “snubbed” Celtic. Once there , my attention was drawn to this item where they were claiming victory over the media but the report suggests no such thing. Interesting story mind

  21. Am I right in thinking that Celtic have accepted tickets for Ibrox. Why? Demand the whole stand or nothing. Disgraceful. I would hope the support don’t accept the Board’s acquiescence. Shocking, really. Hope nobody gets harmed.

The more I think about it, the more I hope we get out of this shameful wee league.

Well it is on the official SPFL website.

Cannot see it on the Celtic FC website yet though
