Sinclair: no one has worked harder

303

I know you have heard a lot about Scott Sinclair’s form not matching his Player of the Year level of last season, but with 8 goals in the league (joint top) and 15 overall (top in Scottish football), you would be hard pushed to suggest this is anything other than a right good season for the winger.

What you have heard less about is the reaction from the player to his slower start to the season. He stayed behind on a programme of work to improve his game; doing exercises designed to improve fleet-of-foot, and perhaps confidence.

Celtic players are not machines (they just look like that when they are winning). Performances are a consequence of hundreds of preparatory hours, sacrifice and denial. Even those will little to prove, like Scott, feel like they have everything to prove as they train for the next game. When they are struggling for the form they want, it is at the forefront of their minds when they wake in the morning, no matter how good results are.

The big moment in Scott’s season came three minutes from the end of what, for him, was a very hostile game at Fir Park, when he told Leigh Griffiths he would be hitting the penalty. Miss, the unbeaten record stops and you put yourself in the hole. Score, and you are the Pope of Fir Park.  Others would have stepped aside.

No one has worked harder to get to the top of the scoring charts.  He’s going to be a big player for the remainder of this month.

How about this scenario. I go to ticket office and say I have forgotten season card, I give all the details on the card and am issued with a paper ticket. Just before kick off my mate walks up with season card and swipes in. With no ID check two in but only one paid.

    —————————————————————————————————————————————-

Just one flaw in your scenario, the use of one or other will automatically negate the use of the other for a particular game, once the barcode is read at the automatic ticket barrier it will show that the seat is now occupied and it will not permit entry to any subsequent productions,on that day, of a ticket for that seat.

I would fully expect the ticket office to require photo ID if they were issuing a paper replacement for a forgotten season ticket and if they were in the habit of issuing a paper replacement without carrying out proper checks more fool them.

ps There is a method of gaining entry to the stadium on a two for one basis but I am not going to discuss that here

  2. What would happen if you and your mate both entered via turnstiles next to each other, at exactly the same time, and inserted the Season Ticket card and the replacement ticket?

This has cost Celtic £25k to send out to season ticket holders, Complete madness and a massive own goal. IMO.

This decision ,if enforced has the decision to feck The Kano Foundation, many CSAs and many families. What was the purpose and reasoning for this letter?

In addition on a pure admin point, It is a shame that the season ticket holders, do not have email addresses…….

  4. See this letter we’ve been sent. Is it in relation to the guy who ran onto the pitch against PSG? Did he not use someone else’s ticket?

  5. Or, once you have the Season Ticket card AND the replacement paper ticket, what if they asked for photographic proof of identity and you and your identical twin brother had a passport and a driving licence in one of your names, what would happen?

    It is possible.

Your getting moved again for this Europa league game

Fill in the form for re- allocated seat

  8. You could use your card to get into the Park, pass the card back to someone who takes it to the TO, saying you can’t get in, and they issue a paper ticket….

TURKEY BHOY @12:47pm,although I agree with you do you not think Mcginn would be a good player to get before he heads to England,he looked ok on Sunday.Reminded me of Broony v Lenny, and I can’t remember who said that first:-)))

Sorry its taken me so long to answer, just back in from another resounding darts win.Now in the Semis.

I think Mc Ginn is an average player with loads of energy. He will never be the answer to the majestic Broony. He too many times, resembles a headless chicken.Against the Huns, too often,he held onto the ball, far too long, giving his defence big problems. Not my only fault with the boy,but we have much better players already here.

You only need the season card or a ticket. Two up against each other as you push through the barrier. It’s easy done. Stewards are switched on for the bigger games but don’t bother for the others.

System would show an admission so TO wouldn’t issue a paper ticket.

If it was the reason, then the season ticket holder who gave him the ticket should be accountable, IMO

Irocially the fine for this massive indiscretion was £9k, and the cost of posting to £52k season ticket holders would be a lot more… est £25k

Not if you did the identical twins at two turnstiles next to each other at exactly the same time.

If thousands of identical twins did this at the same game?

    Chaos.

No way it costs £25k to send 50k letters, as bulk mail drop.

As was posted earlier, Celtic fans sure know how to pick their causes ;o)

  17. Or is the ticket a communal ticket belonging to a bus/club that has someone’s name on it. Any random name on it?

It gets a bit more complicated.

So how do Celtic tackle those tickets? Communal bus/ club tickets that are dished out on a game by game basis.

    Who controls that?

But my 14 year old gets a cheeky letter from some idiot at Celtic.

    Genius.

So if that is true, it’s a tick box exercise with UEFA to mitigate against any potential ground closure for any future indiscretion of a similar nature. Which would kind of justify the cost.

Hope everything goes well today for you, and your Progres continues.

You’re partly right about the NHS……parts of it are magnificent, but others stink to high heaven. The staff who work in our hospitals, clinics, and associated departments do an incredible job in increasingly difficult circumstances, and are worthy of all the praise they get. “Underpaid and overworked” was never more true ( yes, Mrs Bateen Bhoy is a nurse, and i know we have others on here who also work within the NHS)
