Six Celtic fans

1375

As six Celtic fans face the prospect of months in a Dutch jail if police evidence is preferred, take a look at this CCTV video from the Euro Pub in Dam Square:

This is no more than the strong bullying the vulnerable.  It is shocking and affected more than just Celtic fans, other innocent bystanders were picked on.

What can you do about it?  We’re looking for around 40 more bucketeers to collect before the Aberdeen game on Saturday for the legal defence of the six Celtic fans.  You’ll need to get to the stadium a bit early, bucket shaking will be required.  That’s all.

If you can help, email dambhoys8@yahoo.co.uk for more information. You’ll enjoy it.

Thank you.

Remember the Q&A in the Columba Club, Blantyre, tomorrow. I’ll be there with Phil Mac Giolla Bhain and Paul McConville. Tickets available at the door, we get underway at 8pm. See you there.

If you have not been to Celtic Park since the last home game, be prepared for pandemonium around London Road on Saturday. No one will be able to walk or drive from London Road up Kerrydale Street to the Park. Check out the open routes here and get there early.

I would hope that our players would also get involved in and support the effort to help the Dam lads.

Each one of these young guys went there with the sole purpose of supporting them.

  6. I sincerely hope we are not drawn against Ajax next season…can you imagine the welcome those thug fans would get this time round?

  9. After following the trial this evening one factor stands out for me as the key to it all – the cops’ compensation.

It looks like our bhoys fell foul of streetwise cops out to make a fast buck: start a rammy, get some collars, get compen off the state.

I’d be interested to know just how many footy violence cases in Amsterdam have resulted in cops receiving compensation for involvement; looks like a nice little earner for those fascistic pricks.

  10. BT, steroid injection, doesn’t seem to have worked.

Foots painful, early morning and after standing worst.

But last time it got better after a few weeks, so still hopeful.

No more crutches, they only help to keep the weight off the foot in the first couple of weeks.

    Strapping still on.

Small consolation for the Dam5 and their families is that they did not have to experience what the families in Belfast suffered as their men were systematically murdered….(bbc 9pm).Agonising to watch the grief in their faces and still no apology or acknowledgement.

Let’s hope the Dutch Mickey Mouse legal system will be blown out the water with a competent Legal Eagle.

Italiabhoy, good post, Can’t fault you there.BRTH, how can either we, or the club take this forward with UEFA, in regard to Amsterdam being a safe sporting destination?

    ——————

Amsterdam has tonight proven it is a safe sporting destination.

It has passed tough sentence on thugs found guilty of going to Amsterdam who fought with, and injured police officers.

That is the message from tonight.

No matter how hard we shout, no matter how unfair, that is the message.

Uefa won’t be interested and would only get involved to lend support to the Dutch legal authorities.

They will not take the side of football supporters over legal processes.

  17. ACGR Slavering over Stornoway Black Pudding and Supporting Celtic on

No paradise windfall tickets for acgr on Saturday and definitely no money for the wee neds in bluevale street for “watchin yer motir mister”. That’s another bunch of coinage into a bucketeers bucket.

Apologies in advance to the lovely paradise windfall lass who mans the T14 – T16 stairwell.

No apology needed for the wee street urchin extortionists.

  18. TET, I know you’re right, it’s just so unjust, frustrating.

A thought, why have the other clubs whose fans have been caught in this before not had this reaction from their fans, or did they? There have been others, with many more arrested.

    Right, work in the morning.

  20. Doc

    Sleep well mi amigo.

Your point, maybes the supporters of the other clubs deserved to be arrested, who knows, I am only surmising, but from all the footage I have seen of our visit, this was not the case this time.

  21. eddieinkirkmichael;I was also caught up in the horror that night.Lives long in the memory.

Just as a wee add on to this disgraceful episode. There has been much talk of a “Euro League”of some sort. The danger to visiting fans going to many of the venues this would incorporate, should never be underestimated.Fir Amsterdam, see,Spain,Germany,France, etc. All of these European countries have their very own version of these thugs.I fear the days of when I followed Celtic all over Europe for twenty years, having a great(Drunken)time, have sadly passed.Anyone at the PSG game in Paris, will remember the running battles between the home teams opposing factions, which a lot of us were caught up in.Milan, when the Celtic buses were actually ambushed after the game.I was in Torremolinos for the week of Seville and witnessed the smiling police entering the squares, and sneakily letting off the sprays as they went past the fans.

I think many fans should now seriously think twice about following the Bhoys abroad. We could see many more of these incidents.Very sad.

What about a variation on karioki(I know my spelling is awful). People bid on those present that they would like to sing a particular song?

  25. The comfortable collective calls it right.

Legal process trumps anything else in UEFA’s book.(this will also be the public default position of Celtic Plc unfortunately).

That is why it is so important to win any appeal, though I would not be totally confident of any Masonic European judiciary ruling against trumped up evidence of police thugs, regardless of counter evidence.

Hope for the best and expect the worst.
