As six Celtic fans face the prospect of months in a Dutch jail if police evidence is preferred, take a look at this CCTV video from the Euro Pub in Dam Square:
This is no more than the strong bullying the vulnerable. It is shocking and affected more than just Celtic fans, other innocent bystanders were picked on.
What can you do about it? We’re looking for around 40 more bucketeers to collect before the Aberdeen game on Saturday for the legal defence of the six Celtic fans. You’ll need to get to the stadium a bit early, bucket shaking will be required. That’s all.
If you can help, email dambhoys8@yahoo.co.uk for more information. You’ll enjoy it.
Thank you.
Remember the Q&A in the Columba Club, Blantyre, tomorrow. I’ll be there with Phil Mac Giolla Bhain and Paul McConville. Tickets available at the door, we get underway at 8pm. See you there.
If you have not been to Celtic Park since the last home game, be prepared for pandemonium around London Road on Saturday. No one will be able to walk or drive from London Road up Kerrydale Street to the Park. Check out the open routes here and get there early.

I love hearing William Grigg, he is fighting injustice in a different place but I would bet he has Roots to yer fine self.
They say, it’s in the DNA, what can I say?
Goodnight Celtic men and wummin. Although we’re all bewildered and angered by the failure of justice in the Netherlands today it’s heart warming to see the level of support our Celtic collective can muster. On Saturday we can all make a massive response and contribution to help these young guys who’ve been failed by the dutch judicial system.

Reversing the reversed is the idea.
Disgraceful verdicts by the Dutch court tonight, but entirely predictable. You don’t need to travel all the way to Amsterdam to witness victims of Police harassment and/or brutality being found guilty of fabricated offences and thrown in the slammer having been told they’re the bad guys.
You can see it all over the world every week, including Sheriff courts all over Scotland. It’s nothing new. The men can appeal of course, but other than that, there’s not a damn thing Peter Lawwell, Alex Salmond or Clark Kent can do about it. It is the law of the land, and a foreign land at that. They won’t listen to representations from outside their borders. No country would or ever did, including our own.
It’s the way of the world. I am not saying it’s right. Of course it isn’t right. It’s very wrong. But there are people all over the world languishing in jails for a lot longer than a few months on the back of trumped up charges, just to cover up for corrupt and brutal police thugs. That is not to diminish the terrible situation these 5 men now find themselves in. It is shocking and should not happen, but as I have said, apart from the legal appeal process, there is nothing else to be done about it.
We can talk all we like about “What are our government doing?” and “What are Celtic doing?” The answer is . . . there is nothing they CAN do.
We’re not talking about challenging a UEFA ban on supporters here.
The bad guys have won. Again.
It’s a terrible world we live in.
That is not to say that we shouldn’t collect funds for the jailed supporters. They and their families will have big legal and travel expenses and if they appeal, money collected will be crucial.
When I say nothing can be done, I am talking about getting them out of jail through protests and demands.
There was a wee thing about oldco and newco and the chicken and the egg and all that jibber jabber from, I’m guessing a Timfiltrator. :))))
Feck them, it looked to me like a defo, let’s get it right up em and make them look even mair stupid than they are. I may be wrong totally but a lot of people like the wind ups, me, I hate them, I don’t like criticism, so I never want to give it out.
HEAR is the Free Rangers mix of Ege Bam Yasi’s finest track.
Hi Tom,
Who do you think will win the Ashes?
England are very strong and I admit to always wanting them to win against the Aussies over the last 20 years watching the game, I guess it comes down to the respectful commentators, IMO.
I’d like the Aussies to win this Time and I think they will.
It should be a monumental series to Witness anyway.
petec –
I too have always rooted for England v Australia but I am now a turncoat.
Well, they were trusting enough to grant me Australian citizenship recently, so that makes me an Aussie.
I have tickets for Sunday in Brisbane – day 4.
Looking forward to a great day’s cricket.
I think it will be close this time and might go down to the wire, but home advantage should turn it Australia’s way.
3-2 Australia. Or 2-1 with a couple of draws.
petec –
I have to get up pretty early Sunday for the trip to Brisbane, but Celtic v Aberdeen is on at 1am Gold Coast time, so my stamina will be sorely tested, although sitting in the sun and sipping ice-cold beer for a whole day shouldn’t tax me too much, and the missus will be driving home.
It’s a tough job but someone’s gotta do it.
Hail Hail.
Tom,
I think England think they are better than Australia before the series started and that makes it very good viewing.
I really dislike 20/20s and even 50 overs cricket. Test Cricket is where everything comes into the equation. The weather can make the difference even when everything looks lost and I don’t mean that in the negative sense, Clouds etc. The game is Brilliant IMO.
I mean’t clouds can make the wickets tumble, My English is deplorable after a couple of drinks!!!
petec –
I agree. One-day cricket is the cricket equivalent of 5-a-side football and 20/20 is just a joke.
The Test match is something else altogether.
As for the weather, South-East Queensland which includes Brisbane and the Gold Coast has been seeing a lot of big electric storms in the past week with lots of rain and hail, but mostly later in the day . . . after 4pm following a day of hot sunshine.
So there could be interruptions, especially Saturday, but hopefully late enough not to have too much of an impact.

91 for 8.
Aussies are angered and utilising their fast bowling.
Trmelett is under pressure.
If England don’t get another 5 runs I won’t see any cricket on Sunday.
93 for 8 at tea.
England have lost 6 wickets for 39 runs since lunch.
Unbelievable!
Over the eight years i have been reading and posting on here certain things have became clear….
We used to be Divided and Ruled by Kings and Queens…. And we understood our History.
Then Governments did the same….And we continued to understand our History.
Nowadays Kings, Queens and governments do not need to bother with the old divide and rule…… It is PLC’s, their PR machines and Police Officers (as opposed to Constables: important distinction) doing the same old trick… Is knowing our History enough nowadays?
In a global world that is changing fast?
I loved the Amsterdam of the past…
It would appear to be long gone…. But of course, the world is changing fast.
As someone on Kerrydale St pointed out. Should we have been in the Dam with bin bags…. A la Barcelona?
The Times They Are A Changing…..
Nation states are an anachronism.
One style of Policing is becoming corporate, globally.
The Internet facilitates instant community, information, communication and never forget…division.
Do we still, collectively understand our history, or does cyberspace simply make us think we do, while misunderstanding the present and the future.
Hopefully the Internet will help answer that question, if it is around long enough to do so.

by Daphne van Dijk
AMSTERDAM –
Five of the six Scottish Celtic supporters are for public violence during soccer riots on 6 November convicted in Amsterdam from 1 to 2 months imprisonment .
The police and riot police have on race batches repeatedly performed to avoid a confrontation. Between supporters of Celtic and Ajax In addition, some stones were thrown at the police .

The magistrate of the court in Amsterdam did Thursday ruling at the end of a 8,5 hour session summary justice .
Two Celtic fans have two months in jail for handing out hits, the third a month cell. The other two were thrown at the police with beer cans were given prison sentences of six weeks imposed . A sixth defendant was acquitted .
The prosecution had earlier in the evening two months imprisonment sentence for all six Celtic fans for their part in the violence on the Dam on Wednesday, November 6. The prosecutor found that they all deserved an equal and high punishment for beating policemen and throwing beer cans .
Free feet
Four of the six were since Friday, November 8th been set free , but the prosecution had appealed against the decision of the magistrate . The two men who are still stuck , come Friday provisionally at liberty , pending a possible appeal .
” The supporters had fooled everyone . It is a miracle that no serious injuries have fallen . I’ve been through a lot , but this was the toughest action so far “, said an agent on that day prior to the Champions League match Ajax against Celtic .
bonus
Supporters of both clubs were located in the center of Amsterdam . The day before it all came to a scuffle between the two fans in pub The Old Sailor in the Red Light District . By six o’clock the flame shot into the pan when Ajax hooligans took away a flag of Celtic fans , who usually as quietly book are incidentally . Fireworks , beer cans and bottles flew through the air , even towards the police. The drink had all afternoon richly flowed – the bonus offer at Albert Heijn circulated beforehand on Scottish sites. The ME was used , as plainclothes police . Eight policemen were injured by jaw and fists , 39 people were arrested . The atmosphere was grim. A silent agent lost contact with his colleagues , fell to the ground and feared for his life .
” We thought to be attacked by Ajax hooligans . But it turned out to be plainclothes police ,” said Celtic supporter Adrew V. ( 21 ) last night in the Amsterdam court . Lawyer Christian Visser found that there was used in the arrests of men between 20 and 49 years old excessive force and that more research is needed . With delayed assembled films of the riots he tried to put it that justice had made a mess of force story – eagerly defeated by the Scottish press who had come in large numbers .
The prosecutor argued that it was clear that the hooligans plainclothes officers were called and the story of the incredible counsel : ” The eruption violence towards police , including through the use of alcohol , is adequate beaten down . ”

Shocked and angered at the Amsterdam Judgement, policing of football fans is reaching an all time low, we’re a soft easy target and one the public is fooled into believing is dangerous, someone mentioned Paris earlier, I was there and it wasn’t pretty..
Bring them Home, Good luck to all The Bucketeers tomorrow..

Good Morning Timland.
Not a bit surprised at the verdict in Amsterdam, people
on trial in a foreign country and all that…..urge everyone
too give what they can on Saturday.
Fifty year’s ago today JFK was assassinated, my old mum
worshiped the man, warts and all.
Don’t let it be forgot, that once
there was a spot, for one brief
shining moment that was know
as Camelot.
We can help make the world safe for diversity. For in the final analysis, our most basic common link is that we all inhabit this small planet. We all breathe the same air. We all cherish our children’s future. And we are all mortal.
John Fitzgerald Kennedy Commencement Address at American University, June 1963
Is it really 50 years to the day that I, as a mere 10 year-old boy, felt a wave of shock and fear run through my body at the TV newsflash that brought to our homes the awful news of JFK’s assassination?
The news came through around 7pm. I spent the rest of the evening with my family in front of the black and white TV images from Dallas. As well as feeling I was watching a truly historic event, I felt that it was the end of my innocence. The world would never be the same again.
The following morning, I went to the local newsagent to buy the papers. There were two middle-aged women talking to the shop owner about the assassination and how terrible it was. A younger man was behind them and when he left the shop, he uttered the words, “Ach it’s just wan less pape in the world.”
I went home and asked my mother what a pape was.
Later that day, my father took me to Celtic v Kilmarnock at Celtic Park. It was the first time I witnessed a minute silence and it was very moving. Celtic won 5-0 but the crowd was subdued. There was no real celebration of goals.
That night I was again glued to the TV and on Sunday I read all the newspapers and looked at all the photographs. I kept asking myself why.
I can remember it all very clearly.
50 years on and we still can’t be sure what happened.
It’s a terrible world we live in.
Dry and frosty. And doesn’t feel as Big or Happy as most Fridays.
I can’t say i was overly surprised at the verdicts and sentences handed down last night, I can think of very few instances where a Judge is not going to side with the police in any country especially if by doing so it will portray the police as antagonists. I am however surprised by the level of anger directed at the Dutch Court system. I can’t recall seeing the same level of outrage leveled at the Scottish justice system when 14 years old children are arrested in dawn raids for having the temerity to sing a ‘Reb’ song or where hundreds of riot police are deployed to stop a group of teenagers walking to a football match or when sections of the Celtic support are still being targeted and continually harassed, with the alleged collusion of Celtic PLC, by a British police force.
.
Morning,
Still sickened by the verdicts. Shocking.

As promised last night, here is the place to let your feelings be known:
lon@minbuza.nl
The Dutch Embassy in London,We should swamp them with thousands of emails stressing the officially recognised good behaviour of Celtic fans, personal accounts if you were there and the video evidence which shows the Police in a very poor light.
Being angry alone serves no purpose; doing something active helps you as well as the Dam Bhoys.
Put something in the Bucket .
I have to go out for a few hours. I hope I come back to a blog full of what people are doing to support the Dam Bhoys.Sadly, we know the MSSM won`t help.
