Sky refuse to cooperate with subtitle issue

128

Sky Television have refused to explain the circumstances that led them to broadcast incorrect subtitles accusing Celtic fans of racism.  Consequently, Celtic refused the broadcaster permission to attend the press conference previewing tonight’s SPFL game against Hearts.

Celtic reported the matter to Ofcom, who confirmed they are assessing the issue.  Sky apologised for their broadcast, but appear intent on bunkering down to protect those responsible.

Before you attempt a cover-up, you should first check if everyone knows you are attempting a cover-up.  Sky are busted, they behaved atrociously.  This is a cover-up, which is also atrocious, and will only hold if Ofcom take no action.

Who authored the tampered subtitles and who authorised the hooky material for broadbcast?  If Sky were genuinely concerned, they would answer accordingly.

  1. I Just hope our club hasn’t signed the new Football Contract with Sky.People say it’s a free market out there,if it is ,Then Celtic should go for the best legal experts in the country,to see if and only Celtic Football Club can do a deal with BT Sports,Also another anti Celtic Character at Sky Spots Andy Cairns he will be in involved in this Racism’ affair.

  2. This”Two supporters”thing,to my mind is very suspicious.I know we have some very good principled, Church going ,fans on here, that rightly would condemn anything Racist.Would anyone, report a 12 year old to the Police.Honestly.

  6. Celtic may be obligated under the contract with Sky, to put someone forward for interview at each televised game.

If so, without being rude to the interviewer on the spot, I would love our stock response to be “We have put important questions to Sky. When those are answered satisfactorily, we will consider answering Sky’s questions about today’s game”

Repeat as many times as required.

Will we ever see the day when a major non tabloid newspaper, read nationally, does some investigative journalism, and publishes full details about the cheating at the Bigotdome? One lives in hope. Nah! It will never happen.

  12. How will weather conditions effect the game tonight?

Hearts historically was a difficult game, but their form is a wee bit poor atm.

As much as we all dislike them, we need them in the SPFL.

They have a large fan base, an atmospheric stadium and a professional set up.

To sell our game, fans need to see competitive games on good surfaces in full stadia.

The sight of half empty stands, plastic surfaces and one sided games does nothing to improve the reputation and respect for our local game, reduces TV revenues and leaves us open to take it or leave it offhand offers from tv companies.

We need teams from Edinburgh Aberdeen, Dundee and Glasgow to provide a strong spine on which we can build the game. Venues like Livingston, Kilmarnock and Hamilton with their plastic pitches and sparse crowds have no place in a modern professional league.
