Space indicates why Moussa scores so many against Newco

444

I read Kenny Shiels’ comments that Newco’s Barrie McKay was better than James Forrest and Patrick Roberts, making me curious about McKay’s contract. The midfielder’s deal expires in 18 months, but when announcing his contract signing, Newco were unusually frank about their newco status:

“The winger has played a total of 78 times for Rangers, after making his first start in July 2012 against Brechin City at the age of 17.”

Before going onto explain in the same article that “The pacey winger made his Rangers debut against St Johnstone in the Light Blues’ last game of the 2011/12 season.”

If you count, that’s two debuts.  For two Rangers.

McKay was clearly Newco’s best player against Celtic, causing problems from the first minute until their challenge ran out of steam. Tying him into a long-term contract will be a priority (or selling him will be).

Yesterday I noted how Kiernan yelled abuse towards Tavernier at Scott Sinclair’s goal at Ibrox, but as this still shows, the entire Newco defence have questions to answer.
2017-01-03-1

There are five defender goal-side of Stuart Armstrong (not counting one on the wing). As the world was about to find out, Sinclair was unattended, but look at the space Moussa Dembele is in! The two central defenders, who will soon claim to be covering him, are five yards away from him. The defensive line isn’t so much a line as a horseshoe.

This is what Moussa scores so many goals against that lot, he doesn’t get this kind of space against any other opponent.

A wee prayer said Joe and I’ll light a candle at Mass in the morning.

Scrolling back I’m scunnered with the lack of responses to SOS’s post from posters who were on at the time. Being a Tim is much more than just going to follow the team.

Anyway, offski before I incur the wrath of others and the Mods.

So much second best in Glasgow to Celtic.

That fact will slowly but gradually destroy their bigot fanbase. The 5000 non bigots in their support might prevail???

  5. SeS,

A tour de force, bravo. I live in hope for the Supreme Court verdict to finally shake the CFC Board out of their commercially-induced torpor.

    That would be my guess.

TIMBHOY3 : As DD says I live in Kilwinning though from Ardrossan. The reason for the moniker is that it was the first pub I drank in in Kilwinning where my wife is from. It was right at the bus stop and handy to keep oot the rain!

Funnily enough I got a bottle of vodka from the present owner took over some years ago as everyone reckoned I was the longest customer.

When I first drank there I was the only Tim ! Hasn’t increased much since then,1959 !

If Joe Garner is out for months as feared by Sevco they’ll fair miss his goal.

  11. Tony Watt is to return to Charlton Athletic, with his loan spell at Hearts cut short and Addicks manager Karl Robinson demanding an apology.

The 23-year-old Scotland striker has only scored once in 17 appearances for the Scottish Premiership club.

But Robinson says Watt will be back at the English League One club in days.

“Tony has to come back an apologise for certain things and then endear himself to the fans and to me and to the club,” he told Charlton’s website.

“What is going to happen with Tony Watt is that he is going to come in and I’m going to run the legs off of him.

“I’m going to make him sweat, make him cry and I want to see whether he has got the desire to play for me and this club.

“That is the top and bottom of it. There have been a lot of questions about Tony, his mentality and desire, but no-one in this football world has ever questioned his talent.”

Some posters who were on at the time were discussing a different topic, and had been for a while.

SOS’ post was a long one, so maybe they decided to read back later, eh?

And maybe then they’ll still decide not to comment.

Celtic signing 19 year old potential superstar for 3 million british pounds leaves Scottish press cold. Imagine Warbo announced this signing at doomdome. New Messi for Ibrox would be the headline.

    Delaneys,

Watched the “fall” of mister Garner, (sounds like an idea for a panto), tonight in the tinternet…..slow motion and all. Sorry as I am for the boy if he’s hurt…..I can’t see how he possibly could be. Mind you, he’s pretended to be hurt / assaulted so much this season….in order to get fellow professionals unfairly censured….maybe our old friend shcakenefeudwhathisnname is in play.

As I mentioned before in relation to the blindingly predictable furore over the ” disruption ” of the minutes silence , I really don`t give a damn about the tame huns of the fourth estate.

Journalism there is simply cash for comment.

Having said that , I don`t live in Scotland.

However , I do care deeply about the reputation of Celtic .

It remains unsullied by the scribbling of hun propogandists .

Thoughts with you and yer wee ma.

Long story Hogmanay for me DD….was at a funeral up north but listening in the car on the way back to the good news as it came through from Glasgow. I’d given my season tickets to my brother and his daughter just in case I didn’t màke it back in time….so after a quick change I headed into Dingwall and got a ticket for the JàilEnd….which was the best plàce to be as poor Caley were trounced!

Glad to hear your Sis had a good time….we certainly did.
