Having disposed of Raith Rovers last night, Celtic have two huge away games, against top of the table Motherwell before a trip to Moscow for a Champions League match against Spartak in six days.
Tonight Spartak play just a few miles from the Ukraine border and have a journey of close to 1000 miles on Saturday. It is little wonder they, like Celtic, are looking for ways to improve their injury record.
Celtic will travel to Moscow only a few hours after Spartak leave the city of Perm to journey home. On Tuesday we will be the fresher team. Could this be the game we break our duck away from home in the Champions League? If we get it right on the park it will be.
I didn’t read the (incredible) statement by Charles Green until late last night, when I caught it via the excellent analysis by Paul McConville on his Random Thoughts blog. Mr Green, Paul concludes, is “Either… stupid, which he is not, or he has decided to continue to appeal to his core support”.
There is a third alternative. Last season we watched Craig Whyte, then Duff and Phelps, embark on a series of unfathomable actions. Neither party was stupid, nor were their actions necessarily guided by anything as a coordinated appeal; they were simply being buffeted along by circumstances. No one was in control, had the experience necessary or was party to a deliverable Grand Plan, resulting in a series of random utterances.

Talksport has just let a zombie spew his lies…
=======================
Mate – combination of lazy reporting by a disinterested English media, Hun propaganda (Gray, and that ginger diddy), and masonic misinformation have allowed the current situation to prevail – ‘demoted’ R@ngers; R@ngers have been ‘punished’ enough; R@ngers ‘banned’ from Europe for 3 years, etc. – it is easy to perpetuate lies and disinformation among the disinterested or ill-informed.
Had a fall out (nearly) with my big brother who lives in a leafy posh bit of Berkshire a couple of months ago – he is relatively well contacted and a big Tim, but his views on all of what has happened up her were a bit of a shock to me (embarassment for all of Scottish football / need to draw a line under it, etc.) – opinions coloured, I hope, by what is reported down south.
It is only people who really stay on top of this story who have a good grasp of the depth and scope of corruption at play. Being on CQN / RTC etc. makes us, thankfully, better informed than the vast majority of people, but most of those others will believe what they are regularly fed with.

Switched off when I saw Calum Murray ignore countless fouls on Motherwell players.
He was on standby and you would have sworn Motherwell were under instruction not to score, when they were totally on top in the first 45.
As far as getting ‘them’ in the Cup – no thanks.
Celtic should boycott any such fixture, which of course will be at Ibrokes.

so mccall has told his first 11 players not to score, and then any subs go on, they have been told that as well?
really?
and this happens every time past or present rangers have played mccalls motherwell?
and not 1 player has broke rank
ffs

Sorry wrong guy
Miroslav Klose scored with his hand tonight and the referee awarded the goal.
Klose then admitted the handball, and it was disallowed.

first of all if we are drawn against the sevco then we should
bhoycott the match no matter were it is, for in my opinion and thats all it is we will be part of the conspiracy to aid them financially thats what its all about, plus the msm will have their story of this is what scottish football needs, bhoycott and
let people know why, they are cheats and even cheated their way back into football ahead of others who were far more deserving,
if we are drawn together there will be more interest than usual
and there is no doubt in my mind this will be used as part of
the reconstruction farce that they have planned please fellow fans take a look at whats going here dont be a part of it.

The Draw for the League Cup will take place as soon as R C Ogilvie can get it scheduled in his diary.
Oscar Cardozo is set to sign a new deal at Benfica which includes a mammoth £47.7m buy-out clause.
Reports in Portugal suggest the Paraguayan is close to reaching an agreement with Benfica. At one stage this summer it seemed the tall striker was set to leave the Portuguese club.
But Record newspaper claim the 29-year-old will now stay with Benfica, with a new and improved buy-out clause bumped up to £47.7m (€60m).

If.. And it’s a Big IF..
We draw thems @ Home we should make a New World record for Home supporters at a Cup Tie of NIL..;0)

I want them at home.
And I want our players to play out of their skins and utterly, utterly take them apart.
Whatever money they gain from the tie will be drop in a forgotten ocean in a couple of months time – nothing can save them and I just want a final mollicating before they drown in a million orange tears.
.
If we Did play them at Home they would Play for the Draw ( and the Money for replay) even if the were 0-3 up at Half Time they would be ordered to play for the Draw..

Exactly the tactics I expect The Strangers to employ versus Forres Mechanics on Saturday.
C’mon the Cans!

“We’re not even thinking about a draw and a replay. If that was our attitude we’d be as well not turning up for the game. We have to go in with a positive frame of mind and go in fully focused. We can’t afford to have an off-day – we need to go all out for a win.”

Right now I would have Charlie in my team before Izzy and want to see a Vic67/Efe Thump midfield partnership:
Forster:
Matty; Tommy Rogne; Big River Kelvin & Chico Mulgrew:
Broony; Vic67; Efe Thump & Joe Ledley:
Kris Commons:
Ghoops.
Subs: Zal; Izzy; Dylan; Beram; Jamesy; Sammi & Fafafafa fa fa fa fa Tony Watt
Solid and get stuck right into that shower of chancers
or
consider playing Big River Kelvin on the right beside Chico and play Izzy LB with Tommy R dropping to bench.
Sammi only on bench if coming back from injury – in my ideal 11 would see above with Sammi replacing Joe for most games
Either way I would not be saving anyone or anything with Moscow in mind. Play our stongest/fittest hardest 11
Put those mothers in their place!!

Without a doubt chico is better..but im desperate for izzy to get back to form so i would play him here but maybe not moscow.
Hope sammi can make appearence but dont want to rush him back.
And efe ?? We not sign him as a ch .. Praying he gets played there. First half agaist helsingburg away showed we are weak there. Moscow will go to town against us if we play like that.
“I landed in the morning [of the Benfica match] and I didn’t believe I would be on the bench, but the coach gave me the opportunity,” Ambrose said. “It was unbelievable – the first time I had been involved in the Champions League. I saw the crowd and the way they cheered the team, but it wasn’t the noise that I cared about. What I cared about was that I felt like I’d come home. I felt I was with people who really admire the game of football and it felt lovely.
There’s only one effin Efe
Guten Morgen.
The result of the Mullet game on Saturday is totally irrelevant in the grand scheme of things.
I would put out the second string against that tripe.
The Mullets will boot and hustle. We cannot afford to lose any key players through injury, with such an important CL game on the horizon.
A victory in the Gangster State would net the club a bonus of £690,000…that is what i call relevant.
Think about it.
Good morning friends from a slightly damp but otherwise calm and relatively mild East Kilbride.
Any news on Lustig’s injury? I think this bhoy has great potential.

I didnt know he was injured :o
saltires en sevilla:
I always say the league is bigger than all the cup competitions combined and that we shouldput out our stongest team in the league week in, week out, until the league is won or lost. Having said that, the game against Motherwell coming up is a game where I would keep Broonie on the bench. I think he is more important to us in the long run rather than just these three points.
I would put out my most physical team and I include Tony Watt in that equation. I would not play Izzy but I would play Paddy in stead of Jamie Forrest. Paddy can handle himself. So too can all our new recruits.
I would ‘get intae them’ from the kick-off and sub accordingly. I’m sick of a poxy hicksville team like Motherwell trying to boss us as opposed beat us at football. I yearn for Bobo.
Neil Lennon & McCartney:
I agree with you, I too think that Lustig is a player and will prove it in a Celtic jersey. He seems to be getting the Sammi treatment from some at the moment. Encouragement will always reap more rewards than abuse.
Morning all!
What we witnessed last night was always on the cards – the Mothers rolled over!
As for drawing them in the QF – no thanks. They wont want to meet us – they have aspirations of getting to the final! Give them a tie with their east coast cousins – or against the sheep! Should be interesting!

Where next for Celtic? Stuck between the SPL and a hard place
Soon as this article started down the road of attacking Celtic dwindling attendances i stopped reading
The bombarment of negitivity from the MSM regarding Celtic and the SPL this season is certainly working, the agenda that Scottish fitba equals Sevco and nothing else is present in everything we read
We have the luxury this weeekend as the top teams in the all the major European countries of being able to concentrate on the C/L knowing that domestically if points are dropped it is not vital to winning the SPL, i dont see how Motherwell away is placed in the same category as Moscow away
16 roads
Hear what you say – still sense Lenny will want to slap these mothers down and put a marker down. Let’s see what happens
Kit
Morning,
Laptop Loyal in full Hun mode now.
Reporting a crowd of under 30,000 when it was nearly a full house and pushing for Sevco to get Celtic at home in next round.
One Nation…
Kit
I thought Broonie had declared fit again- if still a problem with hip I would play him v well and see how he responds
Proudbhoy – I felt the problem v Helsingborgs and to a certain extent Helsinki was defence being exposed by mid not catching a grip. from what I saw of Efe the other night he might be a better defender playing in front …and still give us soem of the thrust we need going forward
I understand Mick Lustig is injured or he would be on my bench before Izzy
