Split Fifa grounds to withdraw 2022 award

661

Sep Blatter hoped that Fifa would today ratify moving the 2022 World Cup, which will take place in Qatar, to the (i.e. Europe’s) winter months, however, that looks unlikely to happen.  Fifa are split on the matter while Uefa president, Michel Platini, is keener to focus today’s meeting on the working conditions of migrant workers based in Qatar.

Right now Fifa have no grounds to withdraw the award of the World Cup hosting rights from Qatar, the award was made in full knowledge of the country’s climate.  The treatment of migrant workers could change this.  Fifa can insist that World Cup preparations do not expose workers to undue risk or inappropriate conditions.  If Qatar cannot deliver within acceptable working practices the basis for legal grounds to withdraw the award has been established.

I wouldn’t book tickets for Qatar just yet.

The most enduring frustration from Tuesday night is for Charlie Mulgrew.  Playing in his fourth choice position, which would never really be a choice Charlie would make, he did exactly what was asked of him against Iniesta and Xavi.  His chance on 73 minutes could just as easily have bounced inside the post, which would have bestowed appropriate appreciation for the effort one of our own has put into his career.

Bring on the Ajax.

I’m curious as to who gave the £2.5m personal guarantee to lend Rangers International money, noted in their accounts this week. This is as big a financial commitment anyone has made to the Newco in some time.

Amazing that. Our families have a lot in common. :)

funny the things you find out on here,, we probably have very similar backgrounds

  2. Why spend money on 20years old plus players,if you are not in the first team pool,at that age, move on.

The money we have should be spent on the young ,it may seem unrealistic but I am talking about the 10/15 years old

The biggest problem with this ,is that the like of Chelsea will steal your best.that is why a rule should be in place that if you are develop with a club from an early age,you should commit to a contract for an agreed period.

There should be a independent body to overlook the development of these players ,so there is no abuse of the system.

Despite Charles having ownership of over 5 million shares at 1p each, not 1 had been paid for until a forced deduction from final salary.

Why did the board sanction a £600k pay off and not go down the misconduct route despite privately sharing so many reasons to do so?

At the Pinsent Masons meeting on 29 April 2013, directors wanted to follow the money regarding the purchase of Green’s property in France.

Tom Stocker advised that this was not part of the investigation and that they should stick to matters relating to Craig Whyte.

On that very same date Pinsent Masons stated that they would be unlikely to give a clean bill of health to Green/Ahmad as regards dealings which they/5088 may have had with Craig Whyte.

PM were instructed to conclude the report despite the lack of co-operation by all the main players. How can the accounts give comfort?

17/5/2013 Messrs Green, Ahmad Whyte, Earley and others were invited to provide information to the Investigation but have not yet done so.

Despite a request by the SFO to review the report, this was denied on the basis of legal privilege. RIFC do not consider that there are any events which should be reported to the SFO. This was despite the fact that Pinsent Masons were now about to move on to stage 2.

AIM and the SFA also asked to see the report. On the 31 May it was made clear that the current RIFC boards way of thinking was to deny giving the SFA a copy of the report in any format. Indeed the main cause of concern between lawyers was the difficulties it may cause if AIM are permitted to view but the SFA are still denied. Legal Privilege was used as the excuse. Well worth checking up if the SFA ever received a hard copy. It is plainly clear that as at the end of May 2013, the SFA were to be denied access by the board.

So the primary basis of all comfort from the fact that CW had no rights to the assets appears to have been delivered by FFW.

Despite being the company lawyer, several of the board wanted to report Christine/FFW so that the companies (sic) activities could be investigated

I shall come back to some of the other payments under investigation later. The existing board cannot be permitted to continue the cover up.

A nomad should act with the utmost of integrity. However the most recent of requisitions was engineered by Cenkos on their day of departure.

Rather than facilitate a smooth handover, Cenkos took the lead role in the recently aborted coup which has crippled the board. A signal was given to them by another director to engage 15 others inc McColl, King, Artemis, Hargreave Hale and Miton, to name but a few.

Cenkos turned against their very own client and were given the blessing to proceed if they could gather the support. Very cloak and dagger.

During one of the numerous AIM investigations into RIFC, Cenkos were able to confirm that as a result of terminations, leaks should cease.

Also it was stated to the regulators that the email server, hosted by a third party, had been breached. *This is news to me. Had such an intrusion taken place, I would have heard about it. I would therefore urge all to ask RIFC for further clarification and implications.

20yrs old plus players like Victory Wanyama and Gary Hooper, that have caused so much wailing and gnashing of teeth due to not being replaced? Are these they types of players we shouldn’t be signing?

I think the kind of excessively long-term contracts that Jim McLean at Dundee Utd used to get young players to sign (8 yrs in one case) were ruled illegal. Also there are rules in place to ensure teams are compensated if they lose players that they have developed on free transfers before they reach the age of 23.

  11. We can spend all the money we want on coaches and the rest, unless they are coaching the weans what is needed, it’s a waste of money.

I have bumped my gums on here for long enough about how they teach the weans here, it’s far, far superior to what is happening in scotland.

They reduce the pitch size for the age of the kids, they play with a ball that is appropriate to the size, not something that I remember that happens in scotland, and as far as know, still doesn’t happen.

They teach the kids to play in circles, each have a space, can’t leave it, they can only touch the ball a max of twice, first touch, to control, second find a team mate.

It fails time and time again, but as they get older, it works, and it has produced the euro and world champions.

Maybes the Germans have the answer today, who knows, but the Spanish system has been implimented in the school system, they believe.

Even the best team in German land has decide that their best option of a coach is a Spanish bloke.

What? I said that players with us at 20 years plus ,should move on if they are not in the first team pool.No reason not to sign establish players from other teams ie.,Wanyama.

I would not expect to sign young players on 8/10 contracts, but if the system was controlled I would expect a young player, who has benefitted from extensive coaching from a club, from a young age ie10/15 years of age to be tied down to ,let say a 3 year contract, this should be monitored by an official body.

You said “Why spend money on…” – I picked you wrongly. Apologies. However, I think there are defensive positions where players don’t really come of age until they’re a bit older than that, so I don’t think it’s a reasonable blanket rule.

This is an interesting FAQ about English football academies. I imagine the rules are much the same on here. Players are contracted but only for up to 2 years at a time. I’m sure there are legal reasons for that, otherwise teams would be getting kids to sign up for longer.

I know we’re you are coming from,I just think if you don’t show confidence in a young player,he will eventually lose it.

BTW Kompany played against Celtic at 17 years of age,and didn’t give KOK a kick of the ball.

If you are good enough ,you are old enough, remember George Connolly.

My opinions on things are well known here and elsewhere for not being ideologically bound.

That you quote my previous links from The Telegraph and The Mail simply backs that up.

    So…..

    Your point is?

And btw,I doubt any of us mail each other and ask for handlers on here-strategy coordination,as you put it.

We mail each other to coordinate a dayooooot, and that’s about it.

Wanna join the mailing list? Another wee day planned shortly,if you like.

FYI,the reason I referred to it as “posted without comment” was so that people could simply read it the same way that I had. And make their own mind up.

    Is that wrong?
