Split Fifa grounds to withdraw 2022 award

661

Sep Blatter hoped that Fifa would today ratify moving the 2022 World Cup, which will take place in Qatar, to the (i.e. Europe’s) winter months, however, that looks unlikely to happen.  Fifa are split on the matter while Uefa president, Michel Platini, is keener to focus today’s meeting on the working conditions of migrant workers based in Qatar.

Right now Fifa have no grounds to withdraw the award of the World Cup hosting rights from Qatar, the award was made in full knowledge of the country’s climate.  The treatment of migrant workers could change this.  Fifa can insist that World Cup preparations do not expose workers to undue risk or inappropriate conditions.  If Qatar cannot deliver within acceptable working practices the basis for legal grounds to withdraw the award has been established.

I wouldn’t book tickets for Qatar just yet.

The most enduring frustration from Tuesday night is for Charlie Mulgrew.  Playing in his fourth choice position, which would never really be a choice Charlie would make, he did exactly what was asked of him against Iniesta and Xavi.  His chance on 73 minutes could just as easily have bounced inside the post, which would have bestowed appropriate appreciation for the effort one of our own has put into his career.

Bring on the Ajax.

I’m curious as to who gave the £2.5m personal guarantee to lend Rangers International money, noted in their accounts this week. This is as big a financial commitment anyone has made to the Newco in some time.

My money is on Laudrup being the next Real manager.

Carlo will last the season, just, the support and media want him out already.

There is talk of Zidane being coached as the next to take over, but I will still wager Laudrup will get the job.

Was at my cousins Golden Jubilee in the Little Sisters in Royston today. She joined in 1963 and devoted her life to doing Gods work.and we had a great day. One of other Sisters joined in 1943 and she did one of the readings. Sadly my cousin is very ill with alzheimer’s but she is being well looked after. Her sister also joined the Sisters in 1965 and her jubilee is in 2 years time. She is Mother Superior in the convent in Greenock.

  7. Good evening the night shift!

Just back from toodling around the countryside in my wee red sports car and straight on to Youtube to look at Billy McKay’s goals.

Reminds me a lot of Joe McBride–not elegant but he knows how to get the ball into the net, at least at SPL level. Positioning not bad either. He provides the odd assist as well—4 in the 2012/13 season. Available for under a million(perhaps well under it). He has progressed over the last three seasons. May be worth a gamble?

I know, I know, if we didn’t go for Russell, why go for him! Still, worse decisions have been make in buying forwards……..and recently.

Ta we sure did. Came home a stone heavier. The convent is like a 10 star hotel. They had a Celtic day on the 25th of May and a few of the Lions were there. My cousin told me Bertie Auld spent the full day there and she thinks Bertie spoke to every person in the convent. She said he was a real character. HaiL HaiL

As someone touched on earlier the one and only reason Sevcos game with the pars is off is becauses the savages were preparing to protest(again) against their board,

that was their only home fixture in Oct to get any money in but they are panicking about trouble before the AGM.

Absolutely no need for F.F. to head South for inclusion in the Pommy W.C. squad.

Marvellous keeper, not because of the heroics although that helps, but because of his consistency in performing the basics,

He saved two certs against Barca, but for which we would have had a much gloomier few days on C.Q.N.

Might well have prevented the hyperfocus on Broony, however.

  18. It’s not the youth development that needs scrapped.

We have a very cautious coach who has shown reluctance with anything but his tried and trusted.

He has been very reluctant to use youngster bar a few preseason games during his tenure.

We need to implement a path of progression to give them a fair chance of making it.

There is scant evidence of any of them being given that opportunity.

Dylan McGEough and Tony Watt are two who never really fit with the managers approach.

This is an area that really has to be evaluated and changed.

A proper director of football is needed to promote seamless progression through youth ranks.

To many of our signings are projects with an eye on resale value .

Why not then promote our own with the same expectation but greater profit?

Mr Lawell maybe good at finance but a director of football is needed to take us forward.

  19. See the front page of the Record has some hun moron on it pictured holding a kitchen knife to Lennys throat on his TV.Actually froze the telly, got someone to take the pic, then posted it on a Celtic website.

In the last couple of months the hun income must have been disastrous. No home games in the Ramsdens,League cup,International breaks,.Now their top of the table(I know)clash with the Pars postponed. The accounts published were till June.July,August,September must have seen them lose another huge wad.Saying they had £11 million left in June.Bet thats taken a battering.
