Sep Blatter hoped that Fifa would today ratify moving the 2022 World Cup, which will take place in Qatar, to the (i.e. Europe’s) winter months, however, that looks unlikely to happen. Fifa are split on the matter while Uefa president, Michel Platini, is keener to focus today’s meeting on the working conditions of migrant workers based in Qatar.
Right now Fifa have no grounds to withdraw the award of the World Cup hosting rights from Qatar, the award was made in full knowledge of the country’s climate. The treatment of migrant workers could change this. Fifa can insist that World Cup preparations do not expose workers to undue risk or inappropriate conditions. If Qatar cannot deliver within acceptable working practices the basis for legal grounds to withdraw the award has been established.
I wouldn’t book tickets for Qatar just yet.
The most enduring frustration from Tuesday night is for Charlie Mulgrew. Playing in his fourth choice position, which would never really be a choice Charlie would make, he did exactly what was asked of him against Iniesta and Xavi. His chance on 73 minutes could just as easily have bounced inside the post, which would have bestowed appropriate appreciation for the effort one of our own has put into his career.
Bring on the Ajax.
I’m curious as to who gave the £2.5m personal guarantee to lend Rangers International money, noted in their accounts this week. This is as big a financial commitment anyone has made to the Newco in some time.

I agree …too many over paid kids who’ll never make it
Spoiling them and removing their hunger …

Gordon ramsey
….PFayr @ 20:03,
“Sally wage is madness …..as is the wage for the CEO and most playing staff They are either up to something or it’s kamikaze financial planning”
Or, maybe, they have to bribe a few real Rangers men to convince the Bears they are the same outfit, with some “trusted” Employees on board.
Think it says something for Ally’s loyalty, he obviously needed “more” convincing than most, unless of course within the huge renumeration for non-playing staff Walter’s payola is > than juniors.
Without Walter and Ally the marks would not have ponied up.

The Man Who Would Be King………….most likely ?
The Paper Boy seems tighter than two coats………….especially when it comes to his own wad…….
can’t think of anyone else…….
BT, PFayr – the problem being that if we don’t pay them, somebody else will.
I know salary caps are very easily worked around, but I think some kind of standardised contracts for under-18s must be considered. I think it’s totally ridiculous that kids that have never even been close to a 1st team appearance are earning hundreds and in lots of cases thousands a week.
paolosboots Good Luck Wee Oscar
Don’t think I got it- could you resend?

The mob he played for don’t exist anymore. A bit like the Pistols, I suppose :)

Like the rest of them, the Easdales will sell up for what they can ….and wont be there by Xmas

I had a pic on my fb page of Celtic players walking from barrowfield back to Celtic park with an old wifie at the traffic lights.
I know things needed improving but it has gone too far..
This tablet doesn’t know a pf from an of
Get….he he
Walter and Ally.
Double-breasted camel coated, brogue wearing, pencil moustached SPIVs.
Guess we should be grateful that the Bears are the only “people” on the planet that cannae see that.
Bwahahahahahaha
Minger
That’s the point
Billybigboots has never had to play at barrowfield or put the nets up etc..
I hope that some realise how lucky they are. I’m sure young josh does.
PF Ayr,
Our youth system IMHO is a drain on resources.
For as long as I can remember we have won the u18s /19s league, but , we are no nearer having 5/ 6 homegrown players in our starting 11, than we were 10 years ago, or 20 years ago.
Remember Eric Black coming up with a strategy for youth development in the late 90s ?Those 13/14 year olds should be 30 year old regulars .
Same applies to subsequent strategies.
Personally I would seriously consider dumping the whole programme , and , spend the £2m + running costs on three or four Ryan Gualds , Scott Allan’s , hoping 1 or 2 come good every season.
I suspect my view won’t be met with universal approval, and , I will be told that we have a whole crop of wonder players coming through.
History suggests otherwise.

What THEY are up to is making sure that there are no slip ups on road get back to top division.
I would hope this is where john Kennedy could instill into the kids how lucky they are.
He is a perfect example of what could have been.
BT
I always enjoy stories from the older players about sweeping out dressing rooms , polishing senior players boots etc
Instead they’re driving away in their BMW weeks after passing their driving test…..having been no where nearer to the CFC first team than the average fan
Quonno
How do you propose that they stay in business that long with their current business model
A bsr moment.
Don’t scratch your eye immediately after eating chilli nuts..

The contrary view doesn’t stand up to scrutiny
We are losing a fortune on a set up which isn’t working
Shell game…………………
The Binman and the Auld Ned – two shells…….. to keep the attention of the
mouth-breathers………………….
If they two are not in place, the hoax has no traction…………..
The Binman named his own price……………at the expense of the mouth-breathers.

After lurking for the last couple of days its pretty clear some of our own have been waiting on our Captain to make a slip.
I am in no way defending him, he was stupid and he needs to cut it from his game, he does it with the intent to wind up the opposition not injure but he does it too often. That said, its clear some will jump on this error, despite a good disp record in recent seasons.
He may not be the player we hoped he would mature into when he signed but he is our Captain and an important player.

History is on my side.
I have been listening for yonks to folk on here saying that THEY are deid and hearse hasn’t turned up yet and it isn’t going to.

Spot on
The fact that they idolise him is the irony of all ironies
McEachran (me neither)was on 20k a week at Chelsea when he was 16.I think he is on 30k a week now, been loaned out for 3 seasons in a row.

They can’t get back to the top division, they’ve never been in it.

Many said they wouldn’t be liquidated
I hear all you say …but financially theirs is an unsustainable business model it must fail ….how will they survive ?
On the wonderful news that a club barely a year old has THREE players called up for international football duty, ( and by god those countries must be desperate!), thus necessitating the cancellation of a league match, can any insider speculate as to the number of players, in the various age groups, that Celtic will lose to international duty at the same time?
Seem to remember last year Neil Francis remarking about Lennoxtown being a ‘ghost town’ because of the call-ups at that time.

They were liquidated and died. People that go on about them ‘getting away with it’ etc are exactly the same as The Rangers supporters that think it’s the same club.
Put it this way. If I won the Euromillions tomorrow and bought Graceland and performed Love Me Tender in one of his white jumpsuits, it wouldn’t actually make me Elvis. Just a really poor imitation of him.

Broonie is a very important player for us …and most of the time keeps his team mates honest with his drive and endeavour
Stupid mistake…..bet he wishes he’d booted that wee rat good and proper :-))
Btw how much did Swansea pay for Bony ….not very good IMO
Half watching Swansea on TV .
10 years ago, we were in Seville, and haven’t really improved much since.
10 years ago they were at death’s door , in lower echelons of English leagues, and now they are comfortably coping in EPL, and representing the English FA in Europe.

Depends on who you think “they” are
