  1. Happy man after yesterday. Always tricky at Perth, even back when wee Kenny Aird was playing for the , the Muirton team.

Good to see Nadir getting a bit of a boost and Big D causing some havoc in the correct penalty box :-)

On other matters – somebody must have some seriously dodgy photos of Tom English, he has become rabid, I used to have a bit of time for him but he has lost it.

Morning Bhoys a wet morning here in Central Scotland .The treble will be very difficult to win it is easier in a one off game for the mason in the black to influence the game as we seen against St,Johnstone last season.I think we have the manager and the players to do it but the officials will make it hard. I am not sure who we will sign in the January window but the MSM are throwing names around like snow balls.H.H.

  3. I enjoyed the game yesterday. All three goals were well taken and the team looked hungry, making use of the whole squad and good substitutes.

St. Johnstone were tough opponents and caused us problems but the result speaks for itself.

Dundee allocation hasn’t been cut. General sale to STH at the moment.

I can assure you Celtic are getting 700 less tickets than last visit to Dens. I’m guessing the allocation we get in the Main stand has been removed. Can send you a email with details of you insist I’m telling lies.

  5. Ireland and ex-Celtic boss Michael O’Neill to tap into Gordon Strachan’s know-how over Poland after Euro 2016 Finals draw.

Is it any wonder the SMSM is dying on its feet?

  6. Big sun , clear blue sky and a nice 19 degrees at 11 20 am -way down south .

Back home after a great trip to Istanbul bookended by 2 weekends in Roma..

The fitba ? -Low key on and off the pitch . I was a wee bit disappointed with what felt like a very flat atmosphere . . Game changed with the substitutions and the sending off . .

I really like Istanbul . Did the tourist sites yet again.. Fabulous food and the delights of the Cagaloglu Hamam . A nostalgic trip to the Pudding shop near the Blue Mosque . Great night at Nardi’s jazz club ———-raki and PKK hash ..Mrs S of T delighted to discover that Prada is cheaper in Turkey than it is in Italy ..

Roma ? -security around the Vatican is mega .

Now it’s back to work -will watch yesterday’s game at lunchtime and then catch up with what looks like being the most competitive Serie A in yonks.

  7. Morning all.

    Drab as ever down here.

Don’t know if it has been mentioned already but I watched Sportscene. I rarely listen to the pundits’ analysis. Since Willie Miller was on, I decided to tune in. Not only was he praising Celtic but the wee numpty, Nevin, was too. Maybe he’ll sober up and be true to himself once again. If he does, he’ll be able to sleep better of a night. Of that, I’m sure.

  8. Most mornings, Unless I’m rushing off somewhere, I check into the site ” just to see what’s going down”, It rarely changes, I excuse Jobo because in fairness the weather does change from time time in East Kilbride, but the other main players Kev & Tony in particular set out their stall in exactly the same manner.

It’s like a couple of boxers just shaping up throwing a few jabs into thin air in the opening moments of a fight.

How the fight goes today is immaterial, Tomorrow morning the show will commence again.

  9. No fights, it’s Christmas, Celtic are top of the league, going for the treble, Christmas Party at the Zoo (Oasis) today, pints £1:50 bar shots 75p single malts a Nicker, copious amount and food and prizes, DJ and fun with friends

Brazen pensioners party Thursday, karaoke, first two pints on the house, plenty food, 20…40 oz raffles, single malt BTls for every singer that attempts the karaoke (the words out its miniatures) and at the end of the night….a half bottle and four cans of your choice, invitation only…..

Fight? Naaaaaaaaaaa it’s Christmass yo ho Ho!

  14. Sure 5 in a row will be great and 10 in a row will be even better, but this may have as much to do with the huns liquidation, as it is to our current on the pitch abilities. We currently have a fitba budget that absolutely dwarves any of our domestic rivals, and quite a few of our European rivals too. It’s not really unreasonable to expect to win the domestic title with such a financial advantage. In fact, it might be unreasonable not to expect domestic success with such a huge advantage. (And long may it continue)

When measuring our success we, can we ignore the plight of our rivals? We had an era where they spent every penny that they had plus lots that they didn’t have, to keep their blue noses in front of us. They bought nine in a row. That is the value of financial clout. They don’t have that now. We do.

I have seen far better Celtic teams than the current Celtic squad win nothing at all. The 2003 Celtic team didn’t win anything , but we all know they were among the best ever Celts. Even during that god forsaken period of the huns 9IAR we had better Celtic teams and often better individual players playing more entertaining fitba than we have now. Andy Thom, Pierre, Di Canio, Cadette and John Collins etc. seem better than anyone we have now.

Sorry guys, but I’m afraid that in a hunless league, where our financial domination hides a multitude of sins, slips and slackness, our European results are the measurement of success. We play against many sides who themselves may have financial clout. Even a domestic treble doesn’t compare to a good European run. The European games are the source of credibility, the accumulator of euro seeding points, they put money in the bank and bums on seats.

To claim that domestic success is good enough with the type of financial clout we have, is living in denial. (There are more than enough folk in Glasgow doing that right now)

  15. TAMRABAM

Totally agree with you, however we can only play who’s in front of us. Scottish football is broken. The most urgent task for our custodians is to navigate us by hook or by crook to a new league.

Would they have been our rivals without the EBTs? They may have been just mid-table mediocrity. Then again, would we have spent so much under MON to catch up to them? So many ifs and buts.

Those who think we should be as good as we used to be in Europe are also living in denial ….. They should be realising that you can’t play cluggers on a Saturday and still be expected to develop your game for mid weeks in Europe ….we need to get out of this league, not only to get away from the bigots, but to also develop in a league which actually plays football…..

Jude 2005 …….BFDJ is also an accomplished liar…..seems to be ‘par for the course’ with re peepul, in addition to cursing and swearing in EVERY sentence on social media…..and throwing bottles / coins at opposition support with impunity….sad !!!!

Man Utd EPL record and CL record suggests that their financial clout has been helpful.

    (as does real madrids etc.)

    Greenpinta

agree we can only beat whats put out against us, but our financial advantage relative to the rest of the division has NEVER been higher (and long may that continue) but its one one reason why we might realistically expect domestic success.

  23. Greetings.Had a fantastic time in Istanbul, and had a fantastic time watching Celtic yesterday.I could not give a toss about who is in our domestic league,a treble is a fantastic achievement. The Ronny out mob should keep it shut.He is our manager, and will be for the foreseeable future,so get behind him.Your whingeing does nothing for morale among the support.A guy I was speaking to in Istanbul made a great point to me.In the time that RD has been in charge of the team, how many actual days has he had on the coaching side at Lennoxtown. We have had constant Euro games, midweek games,Euro Championship games.Lucky if he gets the team together two days out of the week.Add in injuries, new players arriving, players leaving,it must have been chaotic trying to form a cohesive playing system.Give the guy time.We have around 6 months now of only domestic games.Lets see how we fare, with all the team at the training ground Monday to Friday.

Interested to read your comments on Istanbul earlier. I have only stayed in the city with three names once, for a glorious week. It really is the most fascinating place. All of life can still be witnessed there, and the history and ecclesiastical architecture is fascinating. HH.

when you say good in Europe do you mean

under Jock Stein, when we didnt have any clout and truly were a team that shook the world

or under MON when we were merely punching above our weight and asserted ourselves again as a genuine european quality club

or perhaps as recently as WGS/NL when we made the last 16

I am not expecting to win the CL in the next few years, probably not even in my lifetime

I think with a better manager and squad however we are a big enough and rich enough club to regularly qualify for CL and last 16 too

I definetely think we are bigger and better than anything scotland can put out against us domestically and i think we should be too. Its not an unreasonable expectation

  26. I see the Clutching at straws CSC are in their element again.

Celtic’s last 16 games played after a mid-week European fixture:

    W16 D0 L0, GD 51-7

    ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! BRILLIANT! WONDERFUL!

I am so looking forward to my European football after Christmas now come next June or July!

    Woooppppeeeeee Fliiiipppppiiiiiinnnnnnn Dooooppppppeeeeeee Dooooooooooooo

    What have we become???

I remember the days when we would have been laughing, rolling around the floor, gutting ourselves at the old died huns for this sort of fantastic statistical wonder and their shouting it from the roofs.

How far have we actually fallen?

As for the facetious “Ronny Out !!!”. Well i’ll juist ignore that except to say there’s nae point changing the manageer for the same or worse. Cheange is reuqired in the planning, the strateegy or in those who plan or stratgise before any sense will be made at management level.
