LUBO OF THE LAMP. I have to agree with you Tommy had us playing some great stuff and but for the cheating at Ibrokes we surely would have won the league under Tommy.Sadly it was not to be and that is just one of the reasons I want them stripped all the honours they claim to have won during the period they were cheating Scottish football.H.H.

    Absolutely right.

They also did not make anything of the incident where wotherspoon hit Armstrong late two minutes after being booked. Mib waved play on and then spoke to the player when the game stopped.

No doubt the decision not to give a second yellow would be seen by these comedians as “sensible refereeing”

Tommy Burns’s team was as good as I ever watched…. Paulo Di Canio was a genius and sometimes his football ability gets forgotten about (as he is an eijit)…… Always loved John Hughes when TB signed him he more or less said he had earned a living as a footballer for years but when he went to Celtic he realised he was one of the worst players….. He more or less said I worked harder then so I wasn’t the worst in training

A game between ronny’ s team and Tommy’ s would be amazing. Probably finish 7-6 to Tommy’ s team with all 13 goals coming from breakaway attacks when the other side had nine players upfield. :)

  5. Haven’t been on for a while because of various reasons, pleased with today’s result considering no Broonie Charlie Leigh and KC on bench we were far superior to the form team saints. Ciftci goals were instinctive , when you don’t have time to think , I hope he gains some confidence from them but who knows when he will start another game. Also liked Rogics performance today. Clogher hope you are recovering from your recent op and will be back on here with your positive attitude soon HH

Probably a hurting polis hun from yesterday.

Good to here your wee ghirl is enjoying the games, had to laugh when you said she costs you a fortune, I could never say no either, God knows how many scarfs and beanies I laid out for.

They say it gets easier when they get older, I can assure you that it doesn’t:( HH

When we signed Gary Gillespie from Liverpool I thought we had signed one of the best sweepers that I had watched, not sure what happened there, maybe Derk got the same locker that Gary had

Tom Rogic must have had a good game today even Chris Sutton was sort of praising him, for me as I posted earlier the more games Boyata & Simonuvic get together the better for us, heard one of the commentators saying Lustig was like a right half today, reminded of my father telling me what a right half was, also thought Stef Jo and Callum MacGregor were pretty efficient today, am not a lover of MacGregor but in the last few games he is proving I know heehaw about football, when it comes to Celtic players nobody is more delighted than me about being wrong

    SFTB,

    Here’s where you said it,

“Of course I would not be happy- we would have just lost a title. Again, Ronny could not survive that. But it is a very moot point because we are not going to lose the title this year ”

It would not be moot if you didn’t expect to win now would it ?

As for the bit that went over your head, the point is that being beaten by teams much weaker is an exception to the rule, people on here yourself included actually use it as the rule that we should expect to be beaten by much weaker teams regularly because it’s football, well no, we should not expect to be beaten by weaker teams ever when we do it exceptional. We rightly expect to beat weaker teams, every team in the SPFL is weaker and it’s nothing to do with entitlement, it’s simple logic.

You believe what you want about the bullshit austerity drivel, how much less wages have the board taken during their drive to force down the wage structure of players ? It the player we go to see, very simple logic again dictates the shittier the money the shittier the player and the less people want to pay to see, that’s the economics and why we are loosing supporters no because people are skint, people will always find money if they want to follow their team but usually they want something worth the money they spend and paying the same money as we paid to watch Larsson ans Sutton Ito watch what is being served up now is not an attractive proposition.

Naming a few players we made money on is a sop to cover the money wasted on serious mistakes in their failed strategy, there was plenty of room for manoeuvre to improve the team, the same shit about no being incompetent does not make them even decent it just means they are not completely incompetent, the mantra from some on here is that we should be thankfull we’re not bankrupt ffs, criminality and complete incompetence would be required to make us bankrupt why is anyone thankful we are barely making ends meet never mind bankrupt, I’ll tell you, not only have expectations of the team been lowered, we also have taken a tumble in expectations of our executive when we are thanking our lucky stars we’re no bankrupt.

Football is about skill from top to bottom and from top to bottom we are being deskilled, lucky no to get beat by diddies and lucky to find a gem is no the Celtic I expect. I don’t care about how low your standards have sunk I gauge the team in Europe and always have and using the recent history I think we are poor, I don’t compare us to the Lisbon lions or the 90’s teams, I compare to the last 10 years that as far back as anyone needs to go unless they are looking for excuses and we are no doing well at all.

Delighted to have won today as I expected us to be subjected to the rough stuff, and it came to pass.

Davison particularly was seething about everything and could barely hide what appeared to be almost hatred for Celtic, this appeared to exceed what would be a normal will to win.

    Sad state of affairs.

    ———

Sadly true. Kenny McLean is another of the same. Don’t know if anyone noticed but i enjoyed Liam Craig and Anderson having a right go at each other at one of the set pieces. Both were seething, it seemed to result from chasing shadows for long periods.

Gerry, my son has been in his kip since he got back. He is slightly asthmatic and his chest gets sore sometimes on cold weather. He never let on about it his not feeling great before he left. He slept most of the way up and back down today.

He’s feeling a bit better now, thankfully.

    Deskilled ?

Not sure what that’s all about as a footballer, mic your not happy, fair enough, but am afraid we are a football club who ply their trade in the Spl, I am pretty thick but trying to read between the lines you want us to be bankrupt but not bankrupt ourselves….for me it’s just wanting Celtic to win, enjoy the good times as the bad times aren’t as good, although some fans revel in being unhappy

How did you think the team played today ?

  12. Gerryfaethebrig on

    Dallas

I thought you were just worried because he didn’t have you nagging him (your words) am sure he will be fine after a good nights kip, now he has been on his own you might be getting ditched

  13. garygillespieshamstring on

I also thought we had signed a great player who would fit in with the style Liam Brady was trying to play in building from the back. Sadly he either had terrible luck with injury or lacked heart. Still not sure which but he definitely did not deliver.

Tom Rogic looks to have great potential and can pick a pass. Played really well in a lot of games but to me sometimes struggles on a tight park where he gets less time on the ball.

I think dedryk has suffered as a result of the ever changing back four due to injuries. He looks to be improving now things have settled down. Thought it was interesting the other night that the ball he played through to listing was a similar pass to the one he attempted v Molde that led to their breakaway for the first goal.

Also have to remember that without his contribution v quarabag we might not even be in the Europa league.

  14. Dallas Dallas where the heck is Dallas on

Gerry, I had him well warned today about the hassles some of our away support get from the polis, and to be careful. Thankfully he listened to me for once. He wants in.the standing section next season.

  15. I also thought McGregor did very well today. Also thought the general standard of corner taking was very good. Thought they were swung in well and every corner had them in trouble.

I also thought McGregor did very well today. Also thought the general standard of corner taking was very good. Thought they were swung in well and every corner had them in trouble.

Agree, he seems more at home in the middle of the park than on the wing. He was good today.

    GFTB,

Standards are dropping you get what you pay for, experiments, and too many at that.

I’ve not got a problem with you being very happy with lower standard players, you also seem quite happy with the falling support numbers good for you and no doubt you’re ecstatic we hammered the mighty St Johnston, on current form the second best in Scotland just not on league position.

My problem is those who expect me to drop my standards because they have, sorry it’s just not on and no amount of hysterical drivel will change that.

The game today was a game of two halves, first half was dire and we could have lost the game but for a few cracking saves.

The second half is the way I expect us to play a lot more often and consistently buy as I said, you get what you pay for. Lustig MotM by a country mile which was encouraging considering his form of late.

Three very good goals but we still defend like amateurs far too often.

Ex cathedra I watched bt’s highlights of today’s game.

In the 83Rd minute. Davidson fouled James using his left foot. When James was falling, Davidson raised his right boot and caught James on the knee, no booking for Davidson. The exiled tom is right about getting the refs sorted first and getting rid of the Shugster’s malign influence. He’s still unofficially the ref’s top man.

Paul Larkin is doing a book about refs particularly the unhealthy power of the Lanarkshire refs association which the Shugster runs

  22. Sipsini

    Sorry just back on.

Aye she’s getting a real buzz out of it just which is great for both of us.

The longer that paying for Celtic is keeping her happy and not having to pay for other things then I’ll be delighted :-)

  23. Celtic’s last 16 games played after a mid-week European fixture:

    W16 D0 L0, GD 51-7

    Ronny Out !!!

  24. Boyata has made some mistakes in his early games.

But he is humble and hard working. He is genuinely happy to be here.

There is a reason he was at City for so long and why he has already been called back into the Belgian squad.

He is fast, powerful and much better with the ball than he gets credit for as his pass completion stats confirm.

In the last 2 games he has an assist and a goal.

Today he made several last ditch tackles.

If a new centre half comes in it will be to partner Dedryck not Jozo.

I think Dedryck will be our next 10 million man.

    Thetimreaper,

And the European stats ? You know the ones we returned from ?

  26. Nothing to do with the fact McGregor is absolutely no Tim, I cannot see where he had a good game, his usual slackness created a very good chance early on for St Johnstone, I am struggling to see what he actually did in the game, for me only Rogic got pass marks in midfield, although we started to see James Forrest in the game once he swapped sides

I don’t believe Forrest is a lifelong Bhoy either ?

    Cowiebhoy

We all see the game with different eyes, for me MacGregor actually offered himself to both defence and backed up Ciftic, always willing to take the ball, and sometimes just moving a few yards forward always Lustig and Izzy the other side of the park to get back where they should be…

    Canalamar

Not sure what you are wanting to watch, I watch Celtic whatever standard, if you think we should be better fair enough, I am actually happy with being a fan, win lose or draw……. I blame the parents not the schools !

  31. Dallas Dallas.

That was also my impression but I was at the game and happened quickly but that merited at least a yellow, however he had already been booked I think so Ref took easy option.
