  1. TBJ says Wee Oscar Knox is in heaven with the angels on

    BSR

If there was any doubt that the ref should not have booked Jozo for the missed tackle at least he qualified it by not booking Davidson for the late tackle on Gordon and the various other late tackles by him and the boy caddis ;)

I do think Jozo was lucky as a sneaky hun would have went down even though the tackle was so late he missed by a yard. The bt guys were saying he should have went down and put celtic down to 10 men .

  2. Apologies for the length of this post but there’s loads to cover, laying out the rules and the very important payment details.

We are now inviting entries for the latest Last Man Standing competition – LMS6. This will kick off next weekend so we are asking you to register your interest by WEDNESDAY and to pay your entry fee by SATURDAY. Remember that half of the fee gows to Wee Shay and the otehr half augnments the prize fund. Full details follow.

But firstly, heart congratulations to The Celt 45 who was successful in LMS5 and won a not insignificant £645! A Big Happy Christmas to you and yours!

If you’ve not got time to be bothered with all the fine detail for now, just drop a “Count Me In” email to cqnpredictor@gmail.com .

    THE RULES

VERY IMPORTANT CHANGES – there’s a couple of new rules – 9 and 10 – to cover the possibility of postponements or abandonments. And please also note point 12, a change to what has gone before.

    1. Each week we’ll issue an email with the forthcoming set of fixtures to choose from. In general this will consist of the SPFL top flight games and the matches involving the current top 4 in England. But there may be the odd occasion when this changes, particularly on cup and/or international weekends. Because of the timing for this particular competition we might issue the first 4 sets of fixtures right at the start…..

    2. Each week you choose just one team and provided that team wins then you are still standing and through to the next week.

    3. Once you have chosen a particular team you cannot choose them again. THE ONUS ON KEEPING TRACK OF THIS LIES WITH EACH COMPETITOR as we don’t always get a chance to check every selection made prior to the games kicking off. If you need to double check and if you email us with plenty of notice we’ll try to help you out.

    4. If you pick the same team twice you’re aff oot! But see Rule 6

    5. If your team fails to win then you fall out of the competition. But see Rule 6

    6. If you fall out in weeks 1 to 3 (inclusive) you have the option of restoring your ‘fit and proper competitor’ status and paying your way back in with a further £10 donation [you can do this if you are unsuccessful in weeks 1, 2 and/or 3 and can do so more than once – this is, after all primarily about raising funds;-) ]. YOU MUST HOWEVER INDICATE THAT YOU INTEND TO BUY BACK YOUR HISTORY BEFORE THE FIRST FIXTURE STARTS IN THE NEXT SET OF GAMES.

    7. You must send in your selection before your team’s particular game kicks off. Please remember this if your selected team is playing on the Friday evening or Saturday lunchtime.

    8. As a rule of thumb, the selections will be collated and monitored by me. In an effort to be transparent I will announce my own pick when issuing each week’s fixture list. Until I drop out!.

    9. If a game starts but is abandoned before the final whistle the score at the point of abandonment stands.

    10. POSTPONEMENTS: (a) If any of a particular week’s fixtures is called off more than 3 hours prior to kick off, anyone who has picked from that game must send in a new pick or I’m afraid you’re out (but see rule 6 above). (b) if a game is called off with less than 3 hours to kick off, anyone who has picked from that game can either (i) send in a new pick – OR – (ii) make 2 selections from the following week’s fixtures. SO THERE’S RESPONSIBILITY ON THE INDIVIDUAL COMPETITOR HERE.

    11. Just for clarification, the winner can only ever be the last man standing. So if in a particular week ALL remaining competitors fall there’s no winner and the prize fund would roll over to LMS7.

    12. Once the numbers fall to a manageable level, probably when there are no more than 20 still standing, then I’ll reveal what teams the remaining competitors have already picked. And when all the picks are in each week I’ll again reveal who has picked which team. Brings a wee bit of added spice I hope.

  6. HT,

As you say, St Johnstone were rather agricultural. Not that the MIB seemed to mind; nor the commentators. Until Scotland eliminates this sort of stuff (of course, it may only go unpunished if inflicted on someone in the Hoops), we are never going to progress. How many of the opposition went in with their studs showing? I thought that was a red card.

Davidson seemed to go in to tackles determined to hurt. A real thug. As was mentioned, he was one of those who refused to applaud us on to the Park when we won the league.

  7. Gerryfaethebrig on

Well done The Celt45, great effort !

Delighted young Dallas enjoyed himself, still a bit jealous that he is now experiencing the away games, am afraid they have always been better than even Kevs Jungle

  8. Have to say the way we passed it around at times in the second half today was an absolute joy to watch!

  9. Parkheadcumsalford

I thought some of their tackling was way over the top at times. We shouldn’t be surprised though, operation ‘stop the 10’ is moving into overdrive.

  10. Absolutely stupid behaviour today from the bully boys of Police Scotland towards the Green Brigade.

    Needless and provocative.

Don`t you know that it is really easy for Celtic players to pass the ball round in this League? It is also easy for them to run really quickly and to never get injured. Whenever Ronny feels the need to rest players, he should do so and just take to the field with nine players. We would still win…….apparently.

    HT

Where Ronny fails in Europe he has the Spl sussed, terrific record after Europeean games, and Boyata And Siomonuvic are now gelling, as for the officials stopping whatever in a row, am afraid when Ronny keeps the team winning, nothing will stop the titles mounting up

Hope your wee yin enjoyed herself the day

  13. Gerry – your 2 entries have been noted and CRC will take care of your payment information, thanks.

    HT

Sad to hear that. I would hope that as many as possible (of those involved) write to both Celtic and to their MP`s to ask for an explanation. Nothing much will happen but I feel they should be made aware that we are not just accepting this kind of treatment.

  17. Gerry/TTR/JJ

Yep it’ll be nigh on impossible for them to stop the onwards march in the leagues. The cups are another matter altogether.

I congratulate Nadar Cifti on his two goals today but it will take more than that to convince me he is a Celtic class striker he did look better today no doubt about it but one swallow doesnt make a summer as they say.I wish the player well for his continued improvement and I will re- assess my view on the player at he seasons end. H.H.

  20. Parkheadcumsalford

Said the exact same thing to my sons at the game, Davidson was trying to injure our players, he’s always the same v us. He’s another Lasley. The worst tackle though was McLean on Boyata, clear red card, studs up caught his foot after he played the ball. It could have even been a second yellow as on at least two occasions beforehand he had been warned for being in the refs face trying to get our players booked.

Ronny and the Bhoys do it again another good win in the league after a hard away European tie.St.Johnstone the form team at home in the SPL were the latest hope of the MSM to dump crisis club Celtic. However,Ronny and the Bhoys had other ideas and the hoops ran out comfortable 0-3 winners.Best for the Bhoys in my opinion Rogic,Boyoto,Cifti, and Gordon.H.H.

HAMILTONTIM. Great to hear your wee lass loved her day out to watch the hoops with you and we now have another Celtic supporter. However, I hope you have deep pockets. H.H. :- )

  27. Delighted to have won today as I expected us to be subjected to the rough stuff, and it came to pass.

Davison particularly was seething about everything and could barely hide what appeared to be almost hatred for Celtic, this appeared to exceed what would be a normal will to win.

Thank you and everybody else for the superb support for LMS and Wee Shay, we could not do this without you all.

In just a year, we have a wee baby that is starting to hold his head up for periods of time, sleeping now during the night without the chance of choking and indeed starting to eat food normally. Long way to go but the treatment is making a difference.

Not a hint of bother from the GB for the entire game. Supporting the team with a bit of humour and then around 75 minutes one clown polis decided to go in and remove a flag from them.

Entirely needless and deliberately provocative in my opinion.

Ps the flag had no words on it but was one of the dark green, white and gold banners that are frequently flown by the GB.

“Our 90s teams are not remembered fondly by us.”

Fraid I don’t agree with that, I remember Tommy Burn’s team with great fondness indeed, we played some beautiful football at times and only lost out on one title due to the usual refereeing shenanigans eg Cadete’s diallowed goal against the recently, though not dearly, departed.

And the songs we sang then were the best eg “There’s only one Jorge Cadete…”, and the home strip was a strip of great beauty, and the away one too, I could go on eg Van Hooijdonk’s set pieces, but will spare handing it to you on a plate again so won’t.
