Stunning charity effort by Celtic fans

936

A big well done to everyone who participated in the efforts to send Vanessa Riddle to Philadelphia for crucial medical treatment.  The £500k required was raised yesterday.

Brogan Rogan’ brought the issue to the blog and Taggsybhoy arranged the CQN Music Quiz earlier this month, our first formal activity for Vanessa.  Penfold gave us a signed Celtic top at the quiz which raised an incredible £5000 on eBay (plus gift aid) from a Celtic fan who, quite simply, gets what following this club is all about.

Not only did he pay £5000 but he told us to keep the shirt and use it again!  We then raffled the shirt on eBay and raised almost £1400.  You are all part of an incredible story by an incredible support.

The draw for the signed shirt took place at Uefa headquarters in Nyon, you can watch the video of below and find out if you won.

Our thanks again to Andrew in Belfast for his tireless help with the site this week.  The new ‘whyte’ template is in place and we’ll continue to restore functionality.

  3. Boys this was on hun rumours.

We know that on 6 May 2011, Craig Whyte completed his take over of Rangers Football Club and became the new Chairman. Phil Betts was Whyte’s first appointment to the board, joining on or around 7 May. Both Whyte and Bett were directors of Wavetower, the company through which Whyte bought Rangers.

On 9 May, Rangers entered into an agreement with Ticketus to sell them the income of season ticket sales in exchange for an immediate cash injection. This cash was used to pay an £18m debt owed to Lloyds TSB.

Ticketus is a part of Octopus Investments who operate a number of Venture Capital Trusts, such as Octopus VCT 3. The Chairman of Octopus VCT 3 plc is one Ray Greenshields, who is also a non-executive director of the Close Brothers Group.

According to rangerstaxcase, in October 2011 Rangers gave a fixed charge security over their assets to Close Brothers.

Phil Betts runs a company called Primary Asset Finance, who provide funding and refinancing to businesses. PAS’ website is “sponsored” by State Securities, Davenham (now in administration) and Close Brothers.

PAF were involved in joint ventures in Countryliner Group Limited and LM Logistics (currently in administration) with Merchant Corporate Recovery plc, of which Craig Whyte was then a director. Betts was and remains a director of Merchant Turnaround plc. Both MCR and MT are under the umbrella of Merchant House with whom Whyte is still involved as a director of some of its subsidies.

Is this not the same Close financing that paid for the refurbishment of the catering facilities at Ibrox and now on a future share in it all?

  4. A Phenomenal effort by those involved in the Vennessa appeal and congratulations to all those who made the effort to either donate or highlight this young girl’s plight.

Not being up with legalese I don’t reayyly know mate. I presume it means that the police have exactly what they need to proceed and charges will follow.

    What happened to the blog?

The extent of leggos investigate journalism seems to be based on using loose and tenuous associaations as grounds for empirical evidence. For example: X and wife shared same restaurant as Y and wife on valentines night therefore Xand Y are both scabby conspiratorial taigs…any association no matter how coincental is in his diseased deluded mind incrediously stretched to fit a causal link.

Hunter S Thompson said: paranoia is another name for ignorance.

There is no sincere motivation to reveal any truths in leggos blog but more an attempt to reinforce and justify old prejudices.

bitter broken man who is left pandering to the paranoid hysterics of a bigot audience. I don’t think his particular brand of hunguffery could ever be accepted into MSM but in saying that Hatelie is not far behind him in terms of unbridled bias & bigotry.

  8. Blotto’s best moment was describing Whyte as a “poker player from the top drawer” about 2 days before RFC became RIA.

He’s now calling Whyte a criminal, and claiming the credit for outing him.

    Total clown.

Yes big pal thanks, good to hear from you.

Done a wee bit of cruising in January and had a great time, first time in America and loved every minute,

  10. Have now completely caught up. Been in bed past two days with the old ‘man flu’.

But I must have looked ill as Mrs B was very sympathetic and that’s NOT like her.

    But I digress.

Nothing better than being made to laugh when you feel mince, and i’m loving the ‘stupid hun’ stuff.

But for sheer wtf and belly laughs, step forward, Craig Levein.

This guy defies belief, re: his comments about Chas and Bardsley, Bardsley makes Danny Fox look like Danny McGrain!!

You know for sure if Hooper was Scottish, this tadger would continue with Misser.

He’s won nowt, (oh sorry, a couple of young POTY and a few manager of the months, but they give you them for pumping a 2nd division team) and bear in mind this knob was the man who played without a striker V the Czech chaps, and they’re hardly Spain!!!

But then again, look who employed him!!

So all you funny type bhoys out there, please keep giving it to him tight, it’s hilarious and extremely well deserved, and I love it.

Wee Vanessa, if we can do this in such a short time frame, your gonna get better, no question..

I didn’t post the link, but some of the other stuff he wrote today and the last couple of days is astonishing, he needs locked up for his own good.

The demons in his head must be incredible, aparantly there is a cabal that Celtic are getting together to get rid of the hun, I couldn’t stop laughing, and they labeled us paranoid !!!

My guess as well, we have moved on from making enquiries, to a formal investigation. Interesting times ahead.

  14. Thomas Docherty MP doesn’t miss the Rangers directors who “stole” Dunfermline’s gate money.

He rightly argues that the monies Rangers owed Dunfermline for the game at East End were not Rangers to keep or the Administrator’s to inherit. This was Dunfermline’s money held in trust.

The MP is quite a polished performer and it is worth a watch as he doesn’t miss the Huns in this debate from Westminster.
