Stunning endeavours on the Ben

614

Absolutely stunning tales of endeavour from those who climbed the tallest peak on these isles yesterday for the Ben Nevis Huddle to raise funds for Celtic FC Foundation.  The Foundation anchors our club to its founding principles, working locally and worldwide towards four goals:

Improve Health
Promote Equality
Encourage Learning

Tackle Poverty

It survives because lots of ordinary Celtic fans step forward, or put their hands in their pockets, because they believe Celtic is a lofty and noble cause.

If you’ve not been able to support any of the climbers direct, inspiration for the event is primarily the responsibility of Mark Cameron, you can find his Foundation linked MyDonate page here.

If you’re in business check out The Celtic Network’s new Service Finder’s opportunity to market to Celtic fans.

Visit the CQN Bookstore to get Tommy Gemmell to sign your personal copy of his book, All the Best.

lee dixon sees sammi tracking back into an area outside their last third and declares he is playing a holding midfield role – how do they get this gig.

Now they want to call everyone socrates- typical english arrogance.

Should have gone home with the team

I would like to see big Sammi progress here despite the fact that I have Costa Rica to win in the ole CQN Predictor.

  3. Pog

I’ve got Costa Rica 2-0 AND have them in the work’s sweep.

I’d still be delighted for the big man if Greece win it though.

My sister in law is a teacher just like yourself . Just finished her probation year and has got a full time job at the school. It has worked out really well for her. Jokingly said to her the other day it’s a disgrace you get 7 weeks off . My ears are still ringing yet.

Well done to your sister in law, it’s not easy being kept on after the probation year these days.

Well done to the team on Ben Nevis, it’s amazing how cold it looks even in midsummer.

Delighted to follow Sammi in the knock out stages and delighted to see the Greeks supporting Jay. Sammi has taken something important about us back to the Greeks, who have had their own problems………look after those who show you the importance of life n laughter.

    C’mon Sammi

Of course if Greece win both teams who qualified from the mighty engerland’s group will be ooooot

  13. The Netherlands

Played in 100 degree heat (Northern Europeans like us)

Lost their best midfielder on 9 minutes

Were denied a double stonewall penalty against Robben in the 1st half

    Went a goal behind

    Changed their shape at HT

Dominated the 2 half such that Ochoa was the gran muralla

Scored a deserved equalizer on 88 minutes.

Mexico were reeling and looked vulnerable.

Mexico did not close off the supply to Robben who posed them problems.

Marquez stood on the front of Robben’s foot when he had no need to lunge in.

Robben (mindful of the Refs selective myopia earlier in the game) made sure that the ref saw this one.

    He exaggerated the effect (badly).

What is a ref meant to do?

Defenders are trying disguise their fouling of attackers who themselves are trying to pretend that they have been fouled even when they haven’t.

Just back from Dublin and read your post at 3am ish re singing BOTOB. Is the “those doing the singing” aimed at me? Hopefully not.

The Chairman and the rest of the Celtic party left after an autograph signing occasion after the meal ie no-one from club was there when band was on.

Aiden Bhoy – never ever in the company of teachers mention the ” holidays”

I am married to a wonderful teacher – I know believe me – better to say ” they don’t get enough holidays – then they roll over and want their tummys tickled – it worked with ht the last time I met him:))

  19. johann murdoch on

Well he would have rolled over – but kept mentioning something about ribs and a dead leg ?

No idea what sport it was but glad we pumped those southern softies

No it wasn’t specifically aimed at you, I have no idea what your views are on the singing of such songs at Celtic games.

The fact that the chairman had left by the time the band came on only supports my hypocrisy assertion. The bands, and their known repertoire, were known prior to the event.

I heard there was a standing applause in the memory of Oscar, lovely to hear.
