Stunning endeavours on the Ben

614

Absolutely stunning tales of endeavour from those who climbed the tallest peak on these isles yesterday for the Ben Nevis Huddle to raise funds for Celtic FC Foundation.  The Foundation anchors our club to its founding principles, working locally and worldwide towards four goals:

Improve Health
Promote Equality
Encourage Learning

Tackle Poverty

It survives because lots of ordinary Celtic fans step forward, or put their hands in their pockets, because they believe Celtic is a lofty and noble cause.

If you’ve not been able to support any of the climbers direct, inspiration for the event is primarily the responsibility of Mark Cameron, you can find his Foundation linked MyDonate page here.

If you’re in business check out The Celtic Network’s new Service Finder’s opportunity to market to Celtic fans.

Visit the CQN Bookstore to get Tommy Gemmell to sign your personal copy of his book, All the Best.

Ta Lennybhoy, I must be going daft, my Sky planner still lists “Midsommer Murders”.

    ———————————————————–

If you have SKY HD it’s channel 178, just STV, not STV HD if that helps.

Thanks for the info. . . .but I think it’s Dessybhoy who’s heading out there.

  3. As ITV overdo it as they talk up the new Manure manager-in -waiting, MO’N refuses to play along, and undermines their attempt to portray Van Gaal as the man who invented the

    3-5-2 formation.

  4. Whenever the camera pans in our the crowd at Brazil games you see nothing of the racial mix the country is famous for. The faces seem to be almost exclusively white European.

Is it anything to do with ticket prices?

Hamilton Tim, further to you post at 12.07 about the England fan who had part of his ear bitten off and the inaction of those around him.

Harry Smith is a Scottish ITN reporter. The day after the Clutha tragedy he tweeted ITN colleagues had said to him why no one isnside the pub had filmed that tragic event. He replied they were too busy trying to help the injured and assist those who were trapped.

The media driven society we live in has promoted a film rather than assist mentality in some.

Well done to those who did the Ben Nevis huddle, tremendous.

Nir Biton could be a crucial player for us next season, he does simple things well and keeps the ball moving, in my mind, a very important part of today’s football.

    Apologies, I’m just back on.

Contemporary multi media and technology has a great deal we can be thankful for. The recent story of the young man dying if cancer who managed to raise over £3m in a matter of weeks and all because of a tweet is a prime example.

Sadly, your tale displays the grotesquely voyeuristic nature which permeates much of modern culture.

I agree with you re Biton, before his injury he was beginning to look like the mobile, simply creative player that we’ve needed.

I have really high hopes for the Bhoy.

  6. Blatant and cynical shirt tug by Van Persie in the box, should have been a yellow.

Midsommer Murders had to be cancelled as there was no-one left in the village to be murdered.

  9. Disappointed that MO’N only mentioned

Leicester City and, Nottingham Forest in

    his analytical explanation of 3-5-2.

Something tells me that he’s got the ‘hump’

with Celtic or, to be more specific – DD, cos

of the ‘shabby’ way that Neil Lennon lfet the club.

Instinctively I am supporting The Nederland’s as I have a good buddy from The Hague however its tough to support a team in orange against a team in green!

Mexico holding nicely and look the more dangerous. Love the idea of these water breaks…

  11. The more likely reason MON mentioned Leicester is it highlighted how far back he was using 352, same with NF when he was a player. But you probably knew that but it’s a good stir

LOL must pass that on to the missus….

  13. I think we should have warming breaks for fans in winter. Four of them to get more pie n bovril in.

It is statistically the most dangerous place on earth.

When your wife goes to England for a business trip or as a tourist – put her up in a cheap hotel in Southwark or Hillingdon. Picturesque country villages are just not worth the risk.

  15. Slabhoy - Duntocher is Green and White on

Must say its very nice of FIFA to arrange some football for our end of season break. Wee glass of Gavi, curry on the hob, some good players on display, no work today – life is good…

The time it takes to get served, you’d maybe catch 10 minutes of the actual match!

We live in a wee village just south of Manchester, maybe I should make double sure that the doors are locked at night then

  18. Big Marquez messes up and then redeems himself. . .but only because the ref missed his foul in the box on Robben.

This is such a tight game. Makes a !mockery of my 3 – 1 prediction…

  20. Melilla and Ceuta are both part of Spain.

Ok, but they are both in North Africa.

Now the residents, can play for Spain I presume?

However does anyone know if they are also eligible to play for Morocco?

  21. Slabhoy

The only obstacle for the winners of this match to overcome to reach the semi-final of WC14 will be either Costa Rica or Greece, so they have a big incentive to win, but, at the moment they seem to be more intent on not losing.

Probably not it wrong. Might be something to do with the heat too..
