Stunning endeavours on the Ben

614

Absolutely stunning tales of endeavour from those who climbed the tallest peak on these isles yesterday for the Ben Nevis Huddle to raise funds for Celtic FC Foundation.  The Foundation anchors our club to its founding principles, working locally and worldwide towards four goals:

Improve Health
Promote Equality
Encourage Learning

Tackle Poverty

It survives because lots of ordinary Celtic fans step forward, or put their hands in their pockets, because they believe Celtic is a lofty and noble cause.

If you’ve not been able to support any of the climbers direct, inspiration for the event is primarily the responsibility of Mark Cameron, you can find his Foundation linked MyDonate page here.

If you’re in business check out The Celtic Network’s new Service Finder’s opportunity to market to Celtic fans.

Visit the CQN Bookstore to get Tommy Gemmell to sign your personal copy of his book, All the Best.

I usually just reply to anyone who points out the holiday thing that they’re correct it’s a disgrace…..and then ask why they don’t try it as an occupation!

    That usually works :-)

Ht – after our hols away heading in to help mrs m do up the classroom for the new intake. ( p1) – I know first hand what the job entails – hope you are well and enjoy the break ( should be longer! ) hh

He’s a cheatin’ bassa and ALWAYS looks for a penalty.

Hope Greece pump them and the wee bassa gets sent off

Apart from that, enjoying the WC. :-)

I’d been out of school a few years before I went into teaching.

During that time I’d done a lot of voluntary work in a mainstream school and a school for children with mental/physical disabilities, I knew it was what I wanted to do.

I won’t lie though, the fact that I knew I’d have weekends off to go and watch Celtic was a factor.

It was thee biggest factor in me refusing the opportunity to go abroad to teach after graduation where I’d have made a shed load more money.

  8. Greeks need a plan B against a team who love to counter-attack. They’ll do well to get back into this.

I was out with BRTH one evening at the start of the year and suggested we try to win the argument re singing this song in Scotland.

I don’t know what the Chairman himself thinks about it but having had a reasonably in depth chat with him re Celtic matters and I don’t think this is something he would be that clued up on!

He showed that in his speech which included a few points many on here would be glad to hear and one cracker which showed a naivity more than hypocrisy. You really had to be there!

Incidentally the Irish CSC guys did mention this and explained that in Dublin they have no-one to appease and this is just common sense. No-one to be easily offended.

The hall was covered in Irish flag from the various Celtic clubs. Each player was introduced by a few words then a song ie Tony Tony Stokes etc

Neil Lennon as well as Oscar got a huge ovation.

Cqn is very well know and respected judging from the conversations I had with loads of supporters.

Jim Craig told the joke about the Irishman on Mastermind whose specialist subject was the Easter Rising – after three passes someone in audience says ” that’s right Seamus tell the English Bs nothing!”

From a Lion. On the main stage. While chairman there. Everyone has heard it before and everyone laughed.

Not sure anyone was guilty of hypocrisy last night though.

when i left school at 15 i never wanted to go back. Spent the next 49 years in industry -worked in many sheds, never found any full of money.

Teaching is a vocation not a job.

  13. COme on Greece, my ‘both teams to score double’ depends on you!

Although in the ole CQN predictor I have 2-1 Costa Rica having got 20 (TWENTY) points from the most recent 2 games ;-)
