Supreme Court gets to grips with Rangers Tax Case

438

I long ago promised to take nothing for granted regarding the Rangers Tax Case, as it confounded my predictions from the off, but with the matter underway today with its final arbiter, The Supreme Court, I’m prepared to go as far as to say: so far, so good.

There is a long way to go – so no one should be out celebrating a draw. The matter will not be settled by the performance of a QC on his feet, rather the finer points of law. Today has been interesting, so far, but we will hopefully be well into our next Champions League group stage games before we hear the outcome.

Alzheimer Scotland were in touch yesterday and asked me to send you this message:

celtic fans thank you (002)

I know they were enormously appreciative that Billy McNeill’s family decided to go public with his situation two weeks ago. The encouragement they have had since has fortified their efforts. Your donation of £3264 blew them away.

Thank you.

Davidoupolos … I think it was Swift who said that “Punning is a talent which no man affects to despise but he that is without it.”

    ————————————————————-

Swift was himself a brilliant punmeister.

Edgar Allan Poe said something similar (and it is only now you have told me that Swift line that I realise he probably ripped it off):

“Of puns it has been said that those who most dislike them are those who are least able to utter them.”

Sandman – you have redeemed your earlier posting. Yes, that’s what I was told.

    Good grief. A winner.

Yet I’ve only noticed it on ocassion driving on the new link motorway – heading east. Screens were on static on night – non-match night.

You can only see from miles away – elevation required. Crazy ruling!

  3. Sunderland fans are pretty scathing about Lee Congerton. Citing Adam Matthews amongst others as a terrible signing. Of course we take these things with a pinch of salt. Fundamentally Sunderland is one of those clubs with institutional problems, hence their perennial struggles. More so, in Brendan we trust.

  4. Manchesity lead 6-5. Will be interesting to see if Monaco are able to click back into life here. Not sure that they will. Unfortunately.

  5. Citeh dominating Monaco this second half in the manner I expected us to put the Huns back in their box second half on Sunday.

  6. Tell me Bhoys.

Have the cheats had their ill gotten gains confiscated?

  7. Fan-a-Tic: “(Fox are) huge purveyors of the EPL superiority complex despite them being also rans in Europe the last 5 years.”

And who owns Fox? And who is the majority owner of Sky/Sky Sports?

Sandman – you can see the screens from outside the Velodrome.

Re-big screens during games, I am sure it is a UEFA directive that you are not allowed to show games live within Stadiums.

    Keep the Faith!

    Hail Hail!

I know they sure do protect their interests by hyping their product.

None of their commentators ever criticise so it’s obviously dictated.

Compare that to the wankers in the mssm who only have praise for the huns and dismiss the league and every other team except new.

  14. Lennybhoy –

Not so, my friend. Monac showing tonights gamne. And I believe our own game against City was shown on their screens.

Arranmorebhoy 8.03pm I was thinking exactly the same thing about 2 separate courts.

Then I read Sandmans response at 8.09. ;-)))))

The most amusing thing is Sandman might actually be right HH

Citee oot . Best league my a##e

  18. Incredible game.Monaco great going forward, tried to defend and cant.Either that or they subbed the whole team at half time.City should have buried then 2nd half, glad they did not.I think we will be assured of goals in the quarters.

  19. Back home and in bed, it’s such a comfortable bed, likely the most comfortable bed in the world. Tucked up tightly in my new Union Jack quilt presented to me today by The media folk. They are so thoughtful. I’ve never known a welcome like this being given to anyone ever in history. I’d like to offer my personal thanks to all my new friends here in Scotland.

On that point I met Archbishop Philip Tartaglia. We spoke of many personal matters that I have been advised would not be appropriate to air publicly at this juncture or any juncture while I am manager of the Champions of Europe Elect. Archbishop Tartaglia did inform me that he doesn’t personally believe my role will be long term because his team, the now 5th best team in the city behind The Champions of Europe elect, Patrick Thistle, Queen Elizabeth Park and Champions of Europe Elect ladies, will somehow manage to compete at my clubs level and better us. The man honestly believes in miracles. Jimmy Bell chauffeured me to the Cathedral were he said something about burning iin hell when I exited the car. I’m unsure of his reference but I did say I’d pray for him and his family as well as all working for the Champions of Europe Elect. I assume due to the number of lit candles on display. I have procured a wee bottle of holy water for him which I will present at breakfast tomorrow.

Archbishop Philip took my confession but suggested at the end that I had missed out some lies I should have confessed. Something to do with a recent media conference. I was given 10 extra our Fathers and Hail Mary’s to say for my penance.

Tomorrow I will be in contact with King David and my first item will be a summer camp to Rome. Archbishop Phil suggested this as a training camp location. It is a wonderful idea giving me the opportunity to attend mass with the Pope on the Sunday. I will extend an invitation to mass to all at the Champions of Europe Elect and our fans. I’m sure they will be delighted to attend with me.

Feeling really tired after a busy first full day at work.

So I will say good night and god bless all at the Champions of Europe elect.

PS. I note Celtic have employed a second rate head if recruitment. This guys name landed on my desk yesterday and I told James thanks but no thanks as I only employ the best people in every role. Celtic are going so far backwards from the team I loved in 2014. That reminds me, does anyone know a good tattoo cover up artist. I do like that King Billy on his white charger tatto Jimmy has displayed on his forehead.
