Tantric Tuesday

908

After yesterday’s action-packed fast moving day in the political world that is Scottish football today has been Tantric Tuesday as Rangers administrators, Duff and Phelps, took their time and examined all areas in consultations with players over redundancies.  Gregg Wylde and Mervan Celik left the club early afternoon as the first hard consequences of years of abundant excesses manifested, leaving Duff and Phelps joint administrators locked in talks with the rest of the players.  No one can accuse them of not working for their £600 per hour per head.

I would like to be the first to congratulate Aberdeen on winning the treble in season 1992-93. An outstanding achievement.

We could turn it into a series – Ad(min) Men

Its about a bunch of selfish dysfunctional administrators dealing with selfish dysfunctional players from a selfish dysfunctional team in a corrupt dysfunctional league etc….

Just for DBBIA if he is looking, I have already cast Hunny Bun – the wee wummin in the canteen…

I don’t have a lot of faith in the integrity of any of the other SPL clubs’ leaders but Petrie took some tough decisions to keep Hibs in good financial health a few years ago and was pilloried for it.

I guess that’s what he’s referring to as much as anything.

  3. I normally pay attention when the guy Neil Patey speak. I don’t quite follow his not liquidation with a capital L but liquidation of assets, liquidation with a small l . Eh!

    MWD @ 23:01

Agree with that. His own position on the best thing for Hibs will suit the agenda which is why he’s there.

  5. Before I go to bed, this debate is manned by people placed from top to bottom through out football.

Why is a fat rat of a journalist involved?

How is he going to change Scottish football?

  6. Fortunes Favour Mibbes on

Seems to me that the participants will have been chosen after they all revealed their own positions at yesterday’s meeting.

From RanjurzMadia re thread ‘ Craig Whyte’s The walls of the 14th century fortress at Grantown on Spey were daubed in graffiti with the words “Celic 1888. We shall not be moved”

“Can’t even spell there teams name right. Deffo timmy” (sic) -said Billy…you really couldn’t make this up; spelling and punctuation lessons from a hun (and nobody else noticed on RM either) I blame their schools.

  8. tommytwiststommyturns on

I was joking about PL & Petrie, but we’ve a good working relationship with the Hibs board and Petrie’s the only club representative to mention sporting integrity since the Huns went into admin.

He did us no harm at all tonight.

Must be due to his sudden interest in “integrity”.

I’ve never felt so nauseous at the sight of a man on TV since George Dubbya was president.

Why is a washed up alleged football hack, the main speaker here?

Aaaahh to push the Shortbread /Record agenda, must do better.

Any ‘Tic representatives on the program? – or have we wisely avoided it?

  12. TheOriginalSadiesBhoy on

Club Chairmen who will vote against Newco:-

    Celtic

    Hearts

    Hibs

Dunfermline (unless Yorkston is a Thnksgiving Turkey)

    Game, set, match and Championship.

  13. Petrie was always looking of ways to generate cash and one of these was residential apartments at the North (?) Stand. Saw the plans by The Miller Partnership and they looked magic. Imagine opening you living room window and watching the game? Haha, quality! :-)

Can’t remember why the plan was moth-balled!

On the bright side though, Rankers FC(IA) have taken the idea further and hope to have their first shoppers thru the doors this year! :-)))))))))

  14. Come on guys – it’s time for a little dignity and self reflection. Laughing at Rankers Plight is simply wrong. Robb McLean is getting upset. Follow Follow is melting, Ally the cheeky chappie is not happy that the all inclusive Rangers fans are having fly kicks taken at them, the boys in work – none of them who go to Ibrox ever sing those songs ( so who does) are more concerned about the good of the Scottish game than the plight of one club.

So why are we behaving so badly and letting Scottish society down ?

    Because :

    1. They cheat – registration etc.

    2. They lie.

    3. They failed to pay tax

    4. They thought they were the peepil

    5. They told us to go home.

Apart from that I can’t think of one good reason.

Is ten past eleven too late for Jelly and Ice Cream ?

Seville67 – who is absolutely loving and I mean loving it.

  15. This is really hard to watch.

I have watched this my entire life the same old ‘we need to change our style

we need a programme of excellence etc etc etc

    Barcelona blah blah’

Then Celtic go out and get Kicked up and down the park with no protection at

all from the MIBS nearly every game

    Scotland in Crisis!!!!

    Finances finances finances

    Clubs are all struggling!

Mine is doing not bad thanks very much but if it in the future it is not, I

will appreciate everyone’s genuine heartfelt sympathy.

Funny to see Myth talking pash about finance, would like to see his bank statements.

  17. Kojp – at the risk of betraying my stupidity, a risk I run many times in the course of an average day, what does GA stand for?

Neil Doncaster seemed quick to say we have a healthy TV contract in place, after being asked on huns woes.

  19. dont hold your breath on anyone but us voting against the admission of the newco

they’ll want hem back in but there’ll be all sorts of horse trading to make sure they are handicapped for a few years. all this posturing is just the start of the dance

  20. thats an interesting mix of metaphors there. its time i was in bed

    goodnight all tims

  21. jock steins celtic on

Petrie – you refuse to give Celtic extra tickets while you have a half empty stadium.

  22. Hiro Nakamura on

Not watching the Jaba programme, but has anybody suggested dropping the “get into their faces” mentality?

    Thought not.

  23. Fortunes Favour Mibbes on

I do admire the main gist so far.

The problems with Hun FC are all down to the faults in Scottish Football.

I’d suggest it was the other way around, but then I’m just another paranoid Timmy.

  24. Regan talking about not spending more than you earn – ie Rangers – Cue Jabba to interupt.

    What a total idiot.

    Seville67

  25. Can some kind and better qualified soul out there please explain something to me?

Lots of conjecture, speculation and uninformed, though often reasonable, opinions being posted.

Newco seems to be name of the moment + it’s smooth and imminent entry to the SPL. How does that work? Even allowing for the establishment’s ability to make-up/interpret their own rules along the way.

How does a Newco come into being? A CVA prepack as Paul67 warned of seems to be dead in the water (as he also said). Such a revival would have solved their immediate problems, whether we like it or not.

Liquidation then i.e. a real Newco and not a prepack.

    How does that come about?

Assuming (know I’m taking a big leap here) there are interested parties with resources out there who make a move (another big leap), what is available to them? What can they buy?

    – A club with no name?

    – A club with no history?

    – A club with no resources, playing or financial?

    – A club in administration for tax debts between 9 and 15 million pounds?

    – A club in serious risk of even greater tax debts or, at least, several years of appeals?

    – A club which may, or may not, have a home stadium to play in?

    – A club which may, or may not, have a training complex?

    – A club facing, potentially, years of litigation to resolve ownership rights?

    – A club facing investigation from all and sundry with the possibility of serious repercussions?

    – A club with a current owner who may walk away from them, but who will never walk away from a fast buck (assuming he stays out of jail)?

Litigation and more litigation = years and costs.

Someone like Dermot Desmond could afford to do it, if he wanted to.

No-one who wanted to could afford to do it. That’s why they don’t have the resources. Dreamers (including the media etc.) are not the same as investors.

Can you somehow answer the above and provide a case for Newco in some form, how do you meet the accusations of illegal contracts?

You can’t have a Newco without an Oldco to begin with.

Re. the reported comment from Doncaster this evening – can’t see how it is worth the air he used up. Sounds more like his personal contribution to global warming.

Really would appreciate comments from more competent contributors. I’m in strange waters here, but I’m pretty analytical.

    Cheers

:))) There’s an interesting one. Redistribution of wealth in the game. In other words, we at Celtic need to finance Scottish football from now on to pay for the damage done during Operation Hun Rescue.

  30. Right – bed.

Massive day tomorrow – need to get to work early as I suspect that there will be a lot of online reading and F5ing to be done.

Need to give my eyes a rest in preparation for a good 12 hours online.

Scottish football – we don’t listen to fans – well lets hope we don’t need to listen to their bile for much longer.
