There is worse to come

812

Neil Lennon said we didn’t deserve to lose 4-1, as we dominated large parts of the game against a team who have lost their last four games (not against Celtic), conceding 14 goals in the process.  But oh, Neil, we absolutely deserved to lose by at least that margin.

Our disorganisation is a marvel.  Scott managing to start his jump goal-side of a dropping ball and ending up wrong side.  Callum playing three onside.  Kris A. not committing to block the cross (forgiven, trying to cover two positions), Chris J. attempting to intercept with the wrong foot (forgiven, fitness).  Hatem reliving his Ferencvaros highlights.  Full backs who are never back and produce few assists; there is no defensive midfield, unless you count the goalkeeper who feels the need to leave his box and play that position, just a midfield of nomads.

The team is a collection of individuals unencumbered by a workable strategy.  Opposition managers have their game plan written: defend deep, play on the counter and put numbers forward at set-pieces.  If we could defend counter-attacks and corner kicks, we would be having a legendary season, but we can’t, so everyone looks awful.

In sport, if you have evident fatal flaws and persistently fail to resolve them, you deserve every setback that comes your way.  It is hard to recall a Celtic team that deserved to lose more.  Let me give you a cheery prediction, you will soon forget about last night, as there is worse to come.

  1. SETTING FREE THE BEARS FOR RES. 12 & OSCAR KNOX on 28TH NOVEMBER 2020 1:10 PM

What I’m suggesting is that Covid has raised the possibility of no fans in stadiums this season, and possibly next season too.

This season’s not so bad, fans have bought tickets.

    Next season? Who knows.

It would though be reasonable to assume that if Celtic win the 10, the huns will struggle to shift tickets, particularly if no fans are being allowed into grounds.

Their finances are stretched to the limit. Their current spending is not sustainable. The whole house of cards could collapse.

Celtic don’t want that. It would be bad for Celtic.

  4. AULDHEID @ 2:35 AM,

    Three at one time.

On this year yes no conspiracy, but past behaviour tends to influence thinking.

I think the possibility of a conspiracy to keep Rangers alive in 2011 cannot be ruled out. It is question of did Rangers act alone, if so no conspiracy .

Did they act with SFA knowledge of an overdue tax? An SFA with Ogilvie in post and Bain on Committees and Andrew Dickson on the Licensing Committee? What are the chances the SFA knew nothing, Manuel style?

The Regan e mail to Rangers in December 2011 that tried to justify the grant of the licence that produced the comment from Ibrox that his statement might draw in the SFA , then the meal at Hotel du Vin to avoid any response?

Not solid proof but enough to suggest a conspiracy between SFA and Rangers.

Did Celtic know about the overdue tax? No proof but why their resistance to even establishing if the rules were breached, and no statement since 2013 to confirm or deny that they were.

Highly suspicious not to mention deflection from key date at last AGM when evidence presented in 2018 suggested the licence was obtained by false pretence. to justify not involving UEFA?

On LNS, as I stated earlier there was nothing in the 5 Way that excluded an investigation of ebts, but when later evidence not considered/seen by LNS was provided to Celtic in 2014 , not a word.

The worst bit for me is the pretence that Celtic were annoyed with the LNS outcome, their letters sent to \SFA and publicised that had no effect, the effective suggestions made using what Res12 had uncovered ignored and left to shareholders to pursue at a cost just over £11k, the appearance of acting or excuses for not acting.

I wouldn’t call that a conspiracy, I’d call it Celtic ripping the piss out of shareholders and supporters.

Then again that does not seem to concern as many as imagined

So why bother trying to tell the story all set out at

    http://www.res12.uk (with more to come on Res11 2020) .

Wish I’d come across The Plato’s Cave story a lot sooner.

Well Plato was a smart fhella, that’s for sure.

Yet the story you tell is not only well worth telling, it would have been a negation not to tell it. I’m sure when you set out on Res12 you didn’t think you would and didn’t want to be here, but it’s a cord that runs parallel to a decade of wanton deception and corruption (we know it has been running longer) in Scottish Football.

A cord with lights along it’s length, illuminating the wrong doing all along the way.

When RIFC accounts were published recently the number of fholk demanding FFP brought a rye smile to my face as I thought of the battle you ghuys faced.

Over a decade of financial doping and illict practice exposed and it’s been ignored by the majority of Celtic fans. The new Rangers catch up with us, overtake us and now FFP is a big issue – how do they get away with it they ask?

Well look in the mirror and ask yourself what you did about oldco’s financial doping – if the answers nothing, then that’s why.

    BTW: The Banter doesn’t count

You seem a wee bit despondent and you shouldn’t be, I’ve no right to say that of course, as the time, emotion and money you’ve invested in this I can only imagine.

But we have came along way and very many salute you for that.

Let me give you an example of how far we’ve come…

The back end of 2009 I stated on these very pages that the only reason Craig Levein was appointed Scotland manager was due to the fact Dundee United were currently the best side in Scotland and had crucial games against Rangers coming up and could have made a difference in the championship and the cups over the season.

Folk thought I was a nut – conspiracy therioes were not as pronounced as they are today – but they certainly thought I was a tinfoil head.

Now, today on these very pages, we are discussing not the SFA’s help for Rangers but Celtic’s, how much have they helped Rangers with the continuity myth? How much have Celtic contibuted to Rangers being a realistic contenders for a Scottish championship?

That’s how far we have come, not if the games corrupt, we know that it is, you’ve proved it is but how much are our very own Club complicit? That’s the question we are now asking, totally unthinkable then.

It’s a very sad state of affairs no doubt but it was you and your like who have shone the light on that midden.

    I for one thank you!!

    Hail Hail

  5. Mad,”as a fekin hatter”Mitch,

Keep on screaming against the Board, like an automaton, the undeniable fact remains, the dreaded”Bean counter”PL,has given Lenny 38.5 million to spend.

I am no lover of Boards, but I do like to let facts get in the way of a pish rant.

  6. TB @ 2.57

PL has sanctioned the spending of “£38mill” on players managed by his favourite pet agents.

Most were over-priced and some were complete duds.

How many will make it onto the starting line up for Sunday?

  7. Mad Mitch

SFTB — regression towards the mean ?!?

Are you doing some OU to fill your spare time?

Retired school teacher — recent best guess.

Players performance will not reduce just because we are in the middle of a pandemic.

That will stay the same — the issue is how much will it cost and can we be on the crest of the wave regarding change.

You really should stop guessing and surmising- it is not your forte. What difference does the career path I follow, make to the sense or otherwise of what I post? If you are desperate to know , for some angsty reason of your own, contact me off the blog and I’ll tell you but I have no reciprocal interest in your career and will judge your contributions based on what you say not what you do for a buck.

As for your deduction that I was referring to player performance, that guess was equally inacurate (you really should ask the question before you waste hours heading in the wrong direction).

I was referring to club finances in total as regressing. Our reative financial advantage won’t count for as much if our season ticket sales reduce from 50k to 30k, at a time when Hibs say reduce from 15k to 10k. Previously we would have sold 350% more than them, subsequently it would have been only 300% (All the figures are guesstimates but the point stands)

  8. 2012,a conspiracy?.Don’t. think so.Total dereliction of duty,most certainly.

Not the same thing, but, equally as punishable.

You really need to get clear, in your own head, what you mean by ‘conspiracy.’

    This may help.

‘A conspiracy is an agreement between a group of people which other people think is wrong or is likely to be harmful.’

Would you say that definition applies to the Board’s actions in relation to the five way agreement and/or Res 12?

  11. ernie lynch

It would though be reasonable to assume that if Celtic win the 10, the huns will struggle to shift tickets, particularly if no fans are being allowed into grounds.

I don’t think that is reasonable to assume at all. They did not stop buying the books for 4 years when they were forced to play lower league teams. They did not stop buying the season books when they were finishing third or a distant second under Pedro & The Breadman. Therefore, they are ulikely to stop believing in their quest for cups and titles after two years where they have seen an improvement in their competitiveness. If they were to lose the 10, it would be likely, now, to be by a short margin only, and they’ll just transfer their hope into stopping the 11. Unless you think the Sevco support are going to be disproporionately harmed by the Covid recession, there is no reason to believe they will suffer any greater drop-off in interest than our support will.

Their finances are stretched to the limit. Their current spending is not sustainable. The whole house of cards could collapse.

And that’s been the case since 2012 when they were buying internationalists and star players from other SPL clubs just to win Division 3. They have never had sensible finances and their liquidation has been predicted each and every year of their 8 year exisstence. Frankly, I cannot buy into that anymore- someone, somewhere is ensuring they do not go bust, no matter what. And, finally, as I said previously, even if there was a collapse into administration and liquidation, we have seen how that gets resolved in Sconny Boddland, and it does not , EVER, end with them going bust. Bot gonna happen and not our concern or responsibility.

Celtic don’t want that. It would be bad for Celtic.

Agreed. It would be bad for Celtic and for Scottish football generally to lose the interest and money of 200-500k football supporters, 10% of our population as it would impoverish all of us and reduce the playing standards in this country if our ultimate success ever became guarantees. You do not raise your standards by being unchallenged. We need stronger teams to make us better. Sevco are one of the teams contributing a little to that challenge, but until we are challenged week in and week out like the English and Spanish clubs are, then it is hard to improve. We can win most weeks as the bif fish in a small pond and rack up lots of titles but a Woves or a Leicester are more lokely to beat the Clujs, Moldes and Ferencvaroses than we are because of their battle honing,

  12. ILJASB on 28TH NOVEMBER 2020 1:45 AM

Are the coaches not good enough? Putting in its the rawest form: why would players with ambition be motivated by coaches (Kennedy and Strachan) that have achieved nothing? NL too in the grand scheme of things has had no great success outwith Celtic unless you want to count getting Hibs promoted to Premier league.

*Ok and the current management at bader park are, including slippy who was getting the sugar lump fae Liverpool’s Under 19 side due tae poor performances and would be joining the glorified waiter mcallister who had failed at other clubs and while in a caretaker role with Villa was asked tae leave before mcliesh took over, how bad can that be. He like “molly” weir was is only there as the token hun.

Oh and that “great” coach beale who was at swinecastle earlier this year when the bottom club knocked sevco out of the SC and also took 3 points off them.

He started as a part time youth coach at Chelski before moving tae Anfield tae work with their under 16s, his big move came after he met Rogerio Ceni of São Paulo at an FA coaching course who invited him tae Brazil.

That lasted 7 months before he was back at Anfield and working with the youths again before slippy invited him tae bader park.

He is at best a youth coach and although enjoying success right now will be found out. If he was as good as made out he would still be at Liverpool or even another top club down south.

Don’t forget that mcleish had MON’s number for a while until he was found out, took a bit but he ended up getting the bum’s rush, oh I forgot sevco/deidco don’t fire their managers, they allow them tae leave with dignity ffs.

As I did not receive the promised second mail from the club, I can only presume it is my season ticket members ticket number that is required.
