There is worse to come

812

Neil Lennon said we didn’t deserve to lose 4-1, as we dominated large parts of the game against a team who have lost their last four games (not against Celtic), conceding 14 goals in the process.  But oh, Neil, we absolutely deserved to lose by at least that margin.

Our disorganisation is a marvel.  Scott managing to start his jump goal-side of a dropping ball and ending up wrong side.  Callum playing three onside.  Kris A. not committing to block the cross (forgiven, trying to cover two positions), Chris J. attempting to intercept with the wrong foot (forgiven, fitness).  Hatem reliving his Ferencvaros highlights.  Full backs who are never back and produce few assists; there is no defensive midfield, unless you count the goalkeeper who feels the need to leave his box and play that position, just a midfield of nomads.

The team is a collection of individuals unencumbered by a workable strategy.  Opposition managers have their game plan written: defend deep, play on the counter and put numbers forward at set-pieces.  If we could defend counter-attacks and corner kicks, we would be having a legendary season, but we can’t, so everyone looks awful.

In sport, if you have evident fatal flaws and persistently fail to resolve them, you deserve every setback that comes your way.  It is hard to recall a Celtic team that deserved to lose more.  Let me give you a cheery prediction, you will soon forget about last night, as there is worse to come.

Its a scam ignore, at the present time i’m being bombarded by emails regarding Norton and Macafee security software for laptops and devices saying my cover has expired, easy to spot as i use neither of these companies, also had the voice call about internet being swithched off, that HMRC are after me for a tax bill all scams.

  2. HOT SMOKED on 28TH NOVEMBER 2020 10:48 AM]

It’s a scam – I get them a lot. Just the phone down or – if you’re bored you can lead them a merry dance. I once had a guy on for ten minutes who was pretending to be from Microsoft windows and I had him confused as I was going on about double glazing.

God my life is dull :-)

  3. And now we’ve got Big Packy slamming Celtic about schoolboy

  4. Neil Lennon put his handsome Tim neck on the block, rather than bend over and surrender his Celtic principle’s, even whilst hun thug’s were giving him a kicking on Glasgow’s street’s.

Then as Celtic manager in 2015, Celtic’s CEO screwed with Neil’s transfer arrangement’s, and Neil kept to his Celtic principle’s and quit as manager, rather than become someone else.

Then in 2016, Neil must’ve felt betrayed, by the very people who’s Celtic principle’s that Neil held so dear, the supporter’s of Glasgow Celtic. There they were, consigning their richly deserved recognition, as “The Best Fan’s In The World” consigned to the dustbin, as they paid the pre 2012 price, for Old Firm ticket’s, instantly enshrining the status of, oldco & newco, as being one and the same.

Celtic PLC had said zero, about the ‘same club’ issue, in the four year’s since 2012, so for the Ibrox club coming into the SPFL in 2016, Celtic PLC recruited Brendan Rodgers as manager, to replace outgoing, Ronny Deila, and given the fans reaction to this managerial appointment, the cunning PLC board saw their chance to finally show their hand, and by agreeing pre 2012 ticket prices, therefore treating the Ibrox club just the same as previously, the PLC agreed to a ticket trap, that once Celtic supporter’s purchased these ticket’s, then there could be no more claims from Celtic supporter’s about, old club, new club.

Sadly, the Celtic supporter’s were either, too lazy to notice the significance of the ticket price, or they just didn’t care, after all, Brendan was here, what could possibly go wrong?

Still, Celtic supporter’s bought these ticket’s, and then went into the stadium singing,

    “You’re Not Rangers Anymore!”

I wonder how the warhorse Neil Lennon felt, watching Celtic supporter’s, tearing up their principle’s, and moving on, after falling for the PLC board’s cunning ticket trap?

    From nobodies mug’s in 1994, to everybody’s mug’s SINCE 1994.

All those wasted year’s up in smoke.

The Scottish establishment performing gymnastics to cover up for David Murray’s corruption, and there they were, the 2016 version of the Celtic supporter’s, falling into line, helping cover up, the sins of David Murray.

There, and then, Neil Lennon would’ve been forgiven for thinking, the Celtic of principle’s, and backbone, and Tommy Burns cause, sacrificed on the green hun alter, of an Old Firm ticket.

Absolutely not a single Celtic season ticket holder, has the INTEGRITY, to throw the first stone at Neil Lennon.

The present Celtic season ticket holder’s, are Pygmies, in Neil Lennon’s shadow.

    Peace.

  5. Some great posts on here over the last 36 hours or so.

I do believe there has been collusion between Celtic, oldco/newco, SFA and SPFL but I think it has been about keeping the Huns alive rather than necessarily allowing them to win anything.

That said it’s still a disgrace and a kick in the teeth for us and imho (as I posted the other day) the buck for our current malaise stops squarely at the feet of PL(C). He/they have been complacent, arrogant and dishonest with their customers and shareholders. Kev J/Celt-O’Neill/Martin Fallon (not separated at birth methinks) speak an uncomfortable truth and one that I personally am starting to have some truck with, I.e. we have been taken for mugs by our own so called Celtic men who value the bigot £ more than they do our hopes, dreams and plain old fairness . I have “followed the bhoys” for over 50 years, since I was knee high in fact but unless and until there is honesty from our board and a change in structure and governance then this will be my last as a season ticket holder. Disgusted that it has come to this but when you look at the way they have treated Auldheid and his fellow requisitioners is it any surprise? If by some miracle we win the 10 then I’m sure many others who think the same way will stick with it but I’m out regardless, being treated with total contempt by people who don’t share your values is too much to swallow. When did it first dawn on you that the board had been disingenuous about the 5 way agreement and res 12?

And up until that point had you dismissed concerns about the board’s behaviour as a conspiracy theory too far?

Firstly, thank you for your continual posts. They bring me, and so many, such cheer.

Sharing many drinks with you one day is high on my Celtic bucket list.

As a 51 year old sentimental idealist, I share your feelings about what playing for Celtic should feel like. But we’re fans, not players. And a wee bit more ‘mature’ in years!

Wanyama, VVD, french Eddie, dembele – they didn’t grow up wanting to play for Celtic.

The fact that the greatest Celt of a generation -Ghod – stayed so long is the beautiful exception that proves the rule.

  12. Big Wavy,

I think you are referring to Strachan Jnr,in your post.I have no idea how he is working at Celtic, but I know from my mate at Peterbro,he was great for them at bringing players through. They loved working everyday with him.He was the main reason Toney wanted to come to us,and if Eddy had gone, would have,if Celtic had pursued it.There is a malaise somewhere, could be a difference in opinion among the coaches, who knows.

  17. Bhoy From The Boyne on

DD/PL had a huge choice to make in May ‘19. They could have decided to appoint a manager with same football philosophy as BR. They allowed a combination of clouded judgement (through loyalty shown to NL for stepping up previous Feb) and failure to conduct proper due diligence to arrive at their decision.

So let’s imagine they appointed a manager who bases his philosophy mainly on procession football & all the tactical meticulous planning that this typically entails. IMO this would have been a less risky direction to take. The players had bought into BR’s ways. I think we would have matched up very similarly to zombies but very likely to have won out this season over 38 games mainly down to superior player quality using similar systems.

DD/PL instead choose NL who is thereby a very different manager in terms of football philosophy. NL by nature wants his teams to get the ball forward faster than possession based football while also taking more shots. He said these very words in his early pressers. Fast forward 1.5 years and we have less control on games and players retaining less possession. (See Christie’s shooting stats this season – dreadful).

But most worryingly to me is the players look paralysed between systems. Especially given most are from the BR era. They have John Kennedy on training ground from that era who very much seems to be of the possession based philosophy, with NL trying to implement a hybrid model between this style & his own beliefs and seemingly bemused on what troubles the players psychologically.

Fast forward to 2020 end, the players look clueless of their responsibilities on the football pitch. They don’t know where they are meant to be on & off the ball. So spaces open all over the pitch and we ship goals at an alarming rate.

This is a crisis of playing identity due to failure of DD/PL to adequately plan the football operations in May ‘19 on a clearly defined style of manager & coaching staff. We now see the results on the football pitch.

Are you referring to the board’s involvement with the five way agreement?

Or their treatment of Res 12?

Or their failure to challenge or contradict the same club narrative?

    Or some other issue?

    Please clarify.

While you are at it, could you please also clarify what you mean by ‘conspiracy’. Does the term extend to every policy decision taken by the Board?

    Many thanks.

  20. TB- there was a stat this week, re SPFL fans paying extra to watch games this season, I think we were £53,Sevco was £0….

  21. There is more chance of Agenda 21 having any credence than the Celtic board conspiring to let the huns stop the 10.

  22. Ernie Lynch,

My conspiracy theory relates to our Board giving the title t the Huns this season as you well know,ya wee bugger.

As for the rest, the most shamefull episode inour history, and they will have to carry that shame forever.
