This is just the next step for The Celtic Triangle

493

You win five-in-a-row and go 24 points clear but it’s not until you propose to build an architecturally pleasing hotel and museum that the penny begins to drop with some that you are, in fact, an exceptionally well run football club.

I loved reading how we are interpreted on the other side of the city in yesterday’s CQN Magazine article, Simply Depressed:

“Commercially trolling us now. Light years ahead in income plans.

“It’s a source of revenue (and a fantastic bit of PR)….. It can pull an entire local community together and actually create new followers.

“If we ever get our act together, it will take years if at all to get anywhere near them financially, we can slaughter Lhiewell (sic.) all we want, but the bottom line is he is delivering for them.

“It’s a good initiative, having a hotel allows you to have certain events that were not previously possible. Media and corporate sponsorship will increase, new hospitality packages will be created, money from concerts will increase, supporters will hire function rooms and stay the nights more often.

“Just feel we are getting left behind commercially and will be seen as the poor football relation in Glasgow…this one highlights the growing gap between us and them it’s depressing.”

Pulling this together has taken years. Internal voices have dampened expectations during this period, a few times over the years I’ve heard: “There’s a long way to go, remember “floating pitches and super-casinos”” – a valuable lesson, thanks, Sir David. Celtic didn’t want to break ranks on this until the necessary money and commercial partnerships were lined up.

Don’t think this will see The Celtic Triangle finished, either, this is just the next step. The club have learned lessons from every noteworthy stadium of every sport in the world. European club football facilities miles behind where top US sports are at present.

We’re not there yet, but we’re on the road, and this is one journey that’s very enjoyable.

  9. Ok more news

I’m sitting in my hotel in Manchester, with a problem

I have a puncture on my car, and cannot seem to source a new tyre for such until 26th at earliest

Anyone have contacts in Manchester that could source me a 255/45R20 101W sometime tomorrow ? ( I’ve already been in touch with the legend that is paddybhoy1888)

Couple of other points – there used to be another board member at Celtic a few years ago, who was the chairman ? Of the McDonalds hotel chain,

And he doesn’t need my input, but some need to read carefully what Neganon writes

I was one of the fans and I spoke to quite a few, who were ready to give up our season tickets, based on Celtic apparent strategy on numerous areas, treatment of our own fans and actions with police, Res12, strategy with Ronny etc, I am currently hugely frustrated with the allocation of tickets they are allocating to a new club next month, and will again not attend this game, as I do not believe the board has acted with Celtic fans or small shareholders as no1 priority, they are from from perfect and should be challenged when needed – as neganon does

Only my view – giving that new team 7800 tickets to sell at £49, will be giving them financial liquidity to get through another few weeks, I want to see them totally gone asap

Incidentally I also believe they have done a fantastic job in developing the stadium and plans for the continual development of surrounding area

    Rant over :-)))

    Hail Hail

Hypocrisy . Lovely man Lichtsteiner .

*was watching Seville/Leicester yesterday for 2 reasons which soon became 3.

1, our relationship with the home city, 2 first became aware of Leicester when Jimmy Walsh (Coronation Cup hero) and trainer Alec Dowdalls (16 years at the club and 9 with the national side) went to them as well as MON and Lenny’s tenure there.

Switching back and forth to what on paper was the better game when I saw the Porto player being red card, ya effin beauty I thought especially with the Bobo look alike home player protesting against the ordering off. That is until I saw who the grounded player was. Super Hooper getting thrown intae the net came tae mind.

I now had my 3rd reason for watching the game in Spain, didnae see any more of the other one or the goals in the synopsis of the ties at the end.

Good result for Leicester but they owe it all tae a typical snipers goal fae Vardy and good, naw great, goalkeeping from the Man City reject, in fact they have as much a chance as the rainy city side on going through tae the next round even with the sugar lumping of the tinker man.

Nearly crashed the car on the way home there. John Motson on R5L linked the magic hat with the vacancy at Leicester City. These people seriously consider themselves as knowledgeable……FFS!

Trumps great, half of America is raging the other half that voted for the fraud are scratching their heads.

*Watched MSNBC last night and the analyst said that the trumpets ratings were the lowest of any POTUS in the first month in office.

However, he did caution that his ratings among the GOP voters was 82%,the highest since the B movie actor and that the elected GOP members were terrified tae speak out about him, hence the town hall meetings with angry voters screaming “do your job”.

Lolos like the rednecks, trailer trash and ruskies are running the country. One consolation though is that mad dog Flynn is gone, or is he.
