Celtic Park on Sunday will be a whole different challenge, but as we remember from even recent times, getting the job done against lower league teams is seldom straightforward.
There have been more false dawns at Pittodrie over the last 30 years than sunny dawns, so we cannot expect too much from Jim Goodwin. Still, his team is close to full fitness, paying well, confident and will head to Celtic Park on Sunday as ready as they could hope to be.

Celtic were 9-0 up when awarded the penalty in the closing minutes. Roddy McKenzie was the unfortunate young keeper. The Celtic support chanted for Haffey to take the penalty. Big Frank was having none of it but the fans kept it going. Big Billy called him forward.
Haffey very reluctantly took the spot kick and McKenzie brought off an excellent diving save. Haffey roundly applauded the young keeper as he ran back to his goal.
He later said he didn’t want to take the penalty as it was disrespectful to the already beleaguered keeper. A gentleman was our Frank.

Re League Cup game v Ross County
With the away league cup game being played only 3 days before we play Sevco, (and Sevco having an extra 24 hrs to rest/prepare for the weekend) I’d be very happy to see Ange rest the majority of his starting XI that he has in mind for the league match, when choosing his starters v Ross County.
I’d rather take that risk at Dingwall, in order to maximise our chances of beating Sevco.
The results of our 4 encounters v Sevco could prove pivotal to who wins the league this season. A league cup tie at Dingwall is not even close in importance, imo.

Ross Co league cup draw
The issue is we are at tannadice on the Sunday so the Tuesday would not work for us to play.
The only solution would be to play at dingwall the previous Wednesday. No reason not to do that.
Sadly it would need Ross Co and the governing body / TV to sanction a switch to prior week. Whilst the latter 2 may agree I doubt Ross Co would.
If I was Ross Co I would not throw away the potential advantage in a cup tie of Celtic being distracted by both a Derby game and a champions league game (possibly away) looming within the next 6 days.
