131 years ago today, in the hall of St Mary’s in the Calton area of Glasgow, Bro. Walfrid convened a meeting that concluded with the note: “A football club will be formed for the maintenance of dinner tables for the children and unemployed.”
While practically every other football club in the world formed because men wanted to play football, Celtic were formed to feed the poor. We have a remarkable heritage. This, more than European Cups or double trebles, is the greatest part of our history.
This afternoon, Glasgow’s homeless will descend on Celtic Park where your Foundation will provide a hot meal. Winter brings acute problems for our homeless, each year, many do not survive the season. But this time also marks the start of the most intense period of activiey for the Foundation.
The poor and underprivileged, the homeless and forgotten, across Scotland, the rest of the UK, Ireland and beyond are given whatever is possible. All of this depends on the work of Celtic supporters and others, who see the work of the Foundation and commit to helping.
We are all busy getting on with our lives, but the Foundation makes it easy for us to be responsible for someone’s hot meal. It makes it possible for us to bear witness as Celtic fans, not just for the goals and the glory, but for the reasons, which are today 131 years old. What a great thing to be part of.

That UEFA. Wit ur they like? Here is a very clear explanation of how Man City, PSG circumvented FFP with UEFA’s help to get a UEFA licence.
Now did that sort of thing happen in 2011 when enhanced UEFA FFP was introduced from Oct 2010?

Well done, again, Auldheid. As you say, it’s very clear. UEFA and FIFA are mired in corruption. They’re rigged to make sure criminals get to the top. That’s why I never see the point in appealing to UEFA about anything.
Brian Clough once told Leeds United players to throw all their medals in a bucket because they’d cheated to get them.
Nowadays, no-one in the media or in politics or in the justice system cares enough to bring these criminals to book.

Let’s just say it has become more interesting.
Depends if after 4 years of facing steep qualifying hurdles UEFA are still viewed as the hand that feeds Celtic (as in 2013) or a corrupt body that is slowly stranging us.
That in turn depends on other European clubs in a similar position to Celtic telling the PSGs/Man Cities and their ilk to bugger off and take UEFA with them.
I think I’m safe in saying that as a matter of fact supported by evidence that the UEFA licence in 2011 should not have been granted.
It was gained AND kept by deceit.
People of the Lie appear to be in the ascendency all over not just football and if Res12 is dead in the water then the liars are winning and it’s because good men have allowed it to happen.
On a practical level there is a lawyers letter with a series of questions on the Compliance Officers desk since end of June that Celtic are saying has to be answered and the AGM clock is ticking.

Auldheid , if you are about, I was driving into work last Sunday morning about 7.40. Radio 5 done a piece about companies who phoenix sand the resulting financial problems.
The Local Government Association in England are wanting stronger legislation in place to stop so many companies doing a sevco as local councils have lost millions in business rates as a result.
The report focused on a company , Geronimo Festival, which was liquidated. One of the directors then bought the assets of Geronimo Festival , with the company involved in the the same business as the original one.
Two creditors were interviewed, one of whom was a facepainter.

Just a quick read on bbc website and this is a quote from the report regarding FFP being applied to Man City and Paris.
“Joris Evers, chief communications officer for Spain’s top flight La Liga, told BBC Sport: “The Football Leaks documents [in der Spiegel] appear to confirm what we have been saying for years. Both PSG and Manchester City are cheating and should be sanctioned.
“We certainly hope Uefa will take the right decisions and enforce Financial Fair Play rules, but we don’t have full confidence that they will.
“Should Uefa fail to act, we will do what we have said before: launch a complaint with European Union competition authorities.”
