I know what you’re thinking. It’s Saturday, where’s Celtic’s trophy presentation? Last Saturday it was the Scottish Cup, a week earlier, the Premiership trophy. You can be forgiven for expecting the same today.
For me, the pick of last season’s trophies was the League Cup Final. Newco came into it in great form since the arrival of Mick Beale as manager. It was a test of his credentials and of Celtic’s. The dominance of the win belies the 2-1 scoreline, Celtic were miles ahead.
Speaking of dominance, it was rewarding to read that Barry Ferguson endorsed Celtic’s Generation of Domination in his Daily Record column. He wrote about our “decades of dominance”.
Although he goes on to say, “let’s be very, very clear. This dominance has to stop.” Back in the day (January 2005), I asserted our G.o.D. started in 2000, so we are now onto the third decade, if that’s how Barry likes to count them, out the second generation, if you prefer.
What was missing from Barry’s piece is any hope that things were going to change. Barry is not as daft as some make out.
Better a trophyless Saturday than a trophyless existence.

No idea what the decision will be,re our new manager,but when diehard Tim’s give you info,first hand info,you have to listen.Snodgrass has said that Maresca was fantastic at man to man coaching .Said he made good players better.He gives him glowing reports,and knowing nothing about,Maresca,like the rest of us,I take heed,from a Tim who has worked with him.
Just for your info.If he does get the gig,,we will see.Too many pre-concieved notions about.
Who really fancied Ange?.Not James Forrest,who lambasted the Board for hiring him,and who now writes off Maresca.He knows as much as you and every other Celtic fan,but has a blog to push his agenda..He was shockingly wrong before,and now backtracks on what he actually said at the time.
I have no idea who is the best candidate,like the rest of us ,anyone who says they do,well,pinch of salt,is being polite.

Were the fans, the players and the club being played ?
Possibly any word of impending departure should have been in the news. As employees of the club, the first duty should be the welfare of that club, not to protect a manager intent on leaving.
It is becoming quite apparent that Ange’s departure was planned for some time and was not a spur of the moment decision.

You are mixing up Managers and Coaches.Ange pushed his ideas to the coaches,they put them onto the players.Most players only saw Ange once a week.Its there,read it.Coaches as Gaurdiola is called only coach.Managers run everything ,day to day.If Celtic want to hire,Maresca,they would Need a DOF.
