TURNBULL: DEAL OFF

CELTIC have pulled the plug on the proposed £3million move for Motherwell midfielder David Turnbull, as CQN warned on Saturday.

Norwich have had an identical bid accepted for the 19-year-old playmaker who now looks poised for a switch to the Premier League.

The Hoops refused to meet the player’s wage demands – reorted to be around a staggering £20,000-per-week – and that has opened the door for the newly-promoted Carrow Road outfit.

It is understood the Scotland Under-21 star will travel south today to discuss terms with Daniel Farke’s side.

Parkhead chiefs issued a take-it-or-leave it ultimatum to Turnbull and his agent over a four-year contract worth an initial £12,000-per-week.

The eight-in-a-row champions are also believed to have refused to comply with other demands such as first team opportunities.

They have now moved on to other targets such as West Brom midfielder Rekeem Harper, who remains high on their wish list.
